Isparta Carpet Central Turkey, circa 1930The cream field sparsely decorated with vines around a raspberry medallion framed by spandrels and meandering vine borders flanked by guard stripes, 533cm by 333cmOne end at the corner shows old restoration (approximately 12cm by 5cm) re-woven. There is also area 5cm by 1cm where the selvedge is fraying. Other end with very minor losses in one corner and several splits approximately 3cm from fringes into outer-plain guard stripe. Slightly nibbled in other corner.
Ushak Carpet Central/West Anatolia, circa 1900The aquamarine field of stylised flowerheads, plants and angular vines enclosed by deep terracotta borders of angular vines flanked by multiple guard stripes, 390cm by 357cmEnds with losses and fraying into outer blue guard stripe. Selvedges: one complete, other with damage to out guard stripe. Pile fair and with low and worn areas. Some fading at one end. No restoration. Several areas on the reverse where fabric has been sewn to the carpet to support areas of weakness, these areas are small.

Der mehrreihige, floral durchgemusterte Bordürenrahmen bildet einen feinen Kontrast zum Innenfeld. Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren, teilweise abgetretener Flor, insgesamt dünn.| Oriental silk carpet. Old KAYSERI/TURKEY, 1st half 20th century, 172x125 cm. The dark red pediment field is framed by two lateral columns and decorated with a hanging mosque lamp. The multi-row, floral patterned border frame forms a fine contrast to the inner field. Signs of age and wear, partially worn pile, thin overall.

An elongated medallion with appendages and corresponding corner fillings appears on a dark blue ground. The entire interior field is netted with a 'fish in a pond' diamond pattern. Each diamond contains a water lily surrounded by fish. On the dark blue-ground main border, this water lily pattern is repeated alternating with a turtle motif. Fine quality cork wool with silk, 650,000 knots per sqm. Acquired in 1986 at the purchase price of 10.000.-€. Normal signs of age and wear.

A TABRIZ CARPETApproximately 464 x 322cmProvenance: Elibank House, Taplow- a Grade II Listed Queen Anne houseCondition Report: Some wear to carpet overall. Various small losses to the pile at the edges of the carpet from old moth damage - see images for extent. Large holes to one side border - see images. Some sections of wear to binding of longest edges. Leather strips have been applied to the undersides of the longest edges. Some variation in colour between different areas of the carpet (the ends are noticeably more pink than the centre which is more orange in general). Fraying, dicolourations and losses to fringing at both ends. Later thread has been applied to both ends to help secure fringing. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.
