A GOLD 'B.ZERO1' RING, BY BULGARIThe openwork band signed 'Bvlgari' to the rim, in 18K rose gold, numbered, Italian registry mark, International convention mark, with certificate of authenticity from Bvlgari dated March 30th 2017, with maker's case and outer box, ring size N (55) Inspired by Rome’s totemic Colosseum, Bulgari’s B.zero1 collection evokes both strength and history in its design. Launched in 1999, the B.zero1 ring utilised Bulgari’s celebrated Tubogas technique, which involves wrapping strips of gold and interconnecting them to one another so there is no need for soldering. This lent the ring a momentum; a piece that could survive hard wear yet still encapsulate beauty in its form. The B.zero1 ring was an instant hit with critics and jewellery lovers alike, and soon became Bulgari’s flagship design. The collection was then expanded to include necklaces, earrings and bangles. Over the years, Bulgari has invited artists from all disciplines to play with and create a new vision for the collection, such as Anish Kapoor’s bold concave ring in 2010 which paired gold with steel, or architect Zaha Hadid’s 2015 take on the ring which introduced more fluid lines to the ring’s internal structure. The popularity of the B.zero1 collection has remained firm throughout the years thanks to its inherent wearability, it’s unisex appeal, and the maison’s insistence of refreshing and recontextualising the design for the changing times. It is a regular feature on any red carpet, appearing on the likes of Zendaya, Naomi Watts, Bella Hadid, William Dafoe, and Isabella Rossellini.Condition Report: Normal signs of wear, overall in good conditionRing stamped with serial number HM3T22, same on its certificate of authenticityRetail price on Bulgari website: €2,750Total gross weight approx. 10.5g
