A Tibriz Carpet from North West Persia, circa 1940, the madder field of large palmettes, flower heads and leaves in colours of forest green, camel and walnut brown, centred by an indigo medallion of scrolling vines, framed by an indigo border of large flower heads. 12ft 7 ins x 10ft 2ins. (385cm x 310cm).
An unusual Malayer Carpet from West Persia circa 1940, the strawberry field beautifully decorated with vines issuing flowers, centred by black, ivory and strawberry medallion of floral design enclosed by black border of palmettes and leaves. Signed ''Mobarak-bad'' on top left and in reverse on top right of the carpet. 10ft 7ins x 7ft 2ins. (323cms x 220cms).

Fraying. Oversewing to edges. Some small holes and fraying areas to the body of the carpet. Some areas with the pile more worn away.

Carpet is fairly soft/thin and flexible. Quite a few repairs and re-woven and restitched areas. Some mis-shaping., fraying and losses.

Fringing lacking to one end. Edges oversewn. Generally more wear and thinner to the central section, but overall appears to have a reasonable amount of pile.
