Persian-style wool rug or carpet, the sand-coloured ground with central lobed medallion and matching spandrels wit powder blue ground, pale terracotta main border and three pairs of multi borders, 257cm x 368cm Condition: A few minor areas of light wear but pile is overall good, minor wear to selvedges, colour still good. **General condition consistent with age
A large Eastern Persian design carpet with fringed ends, principal colours red, blue and beige, bearing signature. 375 cm x 290 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The carpet is serviceable but is showing signs of wear in places. The multiple line border around the edge is in generally good condition. The centre rectangular panel has various areas where the pile is worn through to the weave. These areas probably account for no more than 10% of the surface of the carpet. The wear is more pronounced to one end of this panel than the other. There are no holes as far as we can tell but there is some fraying and flatness of the pile particularly at one end. The carpet is not significantly faded and the colours remain strong. The carpet does not smell.
A very large Persian design carpet, in reds, blues and beige and with multiple line border. 353 cm x 530 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This large carpet has come to us from a local hotel. The colours are not significantly faded and similar throughout. The worst affected area is on photograph 5 on the saleroom website. This area has clearly been by a doorway. Photograph 4 shows some wear to the pile below the central medallion. A fair bit of the carpet is a little flat as the picture shows. The carpet does have some staining as one would expect but the overall impression is generally good. The carpet does not smell.
An Eastern red ground carpet with central panel surrounded by stepped geometric border, approx 182 x 124cm.
