Ushak carpet, west Anatolia, early 20th century, 15ft. 11in. X 11ft. 5in. 4.85m. X 3.48m. Overall wear, heavy in places, with holes throughout; top left corner cut and crudely rejoined; both ends folded under and sewn in place; some patches; faded at the top end. All over spatial design on a rust red field within a petrol blue main border. Rich and varied palette.
Khamseh 'morghi' carpet, Fars, south west Persia, circa 1920s-30s, 10ft. 6in. X 7ft. 5in. 3.20m. X 2.26m. Some wear in places; small areas of moth damage; holes and damage right side outer borders top end; some surface marks; losses to lower end. In need of a thorough clean. Three light blue centre medallions on a light rust/red field woven with an extraordinary variety of filler ornaments and birds including pecking chickens.
Teheran carpet, north central Persia, late 19th/early 20th century, 10ft. 2in. X 6ft. 9in. 3.10m. X 2.05m. Slight wear in places; very minor losses to ends. Ivory field with spectacular all over design of cypress trees with pairs of herons or cranes amongst the flowers and foliage; dark blue floral main border. Very finely woven with close clipped, velvety wool.
Indian embroidered cover, in Mughal style, first half 19th century, 95in. X 72in. 241cm. X 183cm. The fine creamy/beige cotton ground finely embroidered in floss silks in chain stitch and tambour stitch with a central medallion with animals in the outer circle, a bird in the centre, the ground embroidered with flowers, pomegranates and birds; the border of trailing flowers and pomegranates; trailing floral guards. Some holes and damages with repairs and conservation with fabric patches in places verso. A very attractive cover, possibly once a summer carpet.
Yomut Turkmen 4 x 11 gul main carpet, Turkmenistan, late 19th century, 10ft. 1in. X 6ft. 5in. 3.07m. X 1.96m. Small areas of old moth damage; small hole to top end of field. Tekke-design guls and minor guls on an earthy red field, the end panels with off-set rows of Yomut eagle-guls; panelled main border of octagons with star centres; plainweave ends, the top end with narrow braided stripe. Lustrous wool, soft palette and soft handle.

Overall wear with corrosion to dark brown in places; small repairs; small fabric patch verso lower end of field; losses to both ends (now stopped) fabric tape in places to left side verso. Completely plain field faded down to a soft pale colour with slightly pink overtones; wide ivory main border of large palmette design in green and sharp, deep yellow; yellow secondary border and yellow narrow inner guard. A quite spectacular design with soft lustrous wool and soft handle. Provenance: This carpet has been in the present owner's family from around the end of the 19th century.

Intense dark red field with mid-blue and pale green centre floral medallion and spandrels; dark blue main border. Pale blue details throughout. Rich, intense palette and robust handle.
Tekke Turkmen 6 x 14 gul carpet, Turkmenistan, second half 19th century, 9ft. 8in. X 7ft. 2.94m. X 2.13m. Overall wear with splits to field in some places; fraying to sides and losses to ends. Fine wool foundation. Ends woven with diagonal rows of tiny hooked motifs. Finely woven with lustrous velvety wool; soft handle.

Dark blue central shield shape medallion with ivory flowerhead centre with pale blue details; earthy-red diamond shape field; the wide ivory spandrels with pale blue details; dark blue main border.

Slight wear in places; Three large earthy-red stepped medallions on a dark blue/black field surrounded by small animals and birds; various scattered filler ornaments; blue/black main border of winged motifs and small animals.
