A Persian carpet, 20th Century, Istanbul With guard stripes enclosing a blue border with foliate motifs, the central red ground with 13 rows of shaped hooked guls enclosing polychrome flowers with fringed borders inscribed 80A Turk Universities, 3451. 346cms excluding fringe x 272cms. CONDITION REPORT: Lot 2237: Edge of carpet creased and folded some damage to each end of fringe, reduced some tracking wear to right hand and left hand edges no tears or damage to the central medallion ground. Folded right hand corner some cracking some wear to edge of left and right hand side of carpet.
