There is some subtle colour variation from sunlight and use.There is some evidence of old moth with some pile reduced generally only visible on close inspection.The edges have been re-bound and there is a folded over curl to one section. Some re-working to sections of the flatweave soumak type end edging and the fringing. The edges have some variation of shape so that they wobble and are not straight, with some undulation.The back with fabric backed patching for reinforcement.The reverse has one section of what look like bundles of weft thread probably relating to a repair.Please refer to the additional condition report photographs as a visual references of condition. Various large areas of rewoven pile in places throughout (see images). Please note, one side border is a well-executed rewoven replacement. One end of the carpet with more wear than the other. Some pale knot heads and stands of weft visible in places. Some small areas of isolated losses to pile in places, possibly from old moth damage. Longest edges appear to have been re-bound at some point. They are slightly untidy with wear, undulation and slightly varying colours of binding use. Fringing has moved into the guard stripes slightly at both ends and have been re-secured. Both fringed ends are trimmed to a short even length and have the expected wear. Condition Report: Carpet with the wear overall commensurate with age and use. It appears to have been professionally restored to a high standard. There are likely various old repairs and re-woven elements throughout, however it is difficult to determine these areas exactly such is the high stand of restoration. Longest edges have been re-bound and are in tidy order. The fringing is trimmed to a short even length at both ends. The ends have later thread stitched into them to help secure.
