The blues towards one end of the carpet are lighter from sun fading. Undulation to edges. To one end boarder there are some losses to the pile which are possibly from old moth damage. Overall the colour in reality is a 'pinker' red than the 'browner' red of the photograph might suggest.The leather is in a 'country house' condition - generally intact, but with the signs of age and wear that give it mellow well-used appearance.There are various repairs generally to the areas where the legs meet the seat rail.There is a missing brass stud and a cut/tear to the leather on the front of one chair; The studs are variably bright brass, antiqued brass and steel coloured.Two chairs have a higher seat and taller back than the other chairs, suggesting that they were possibly not originally with the set, although they look to be similar in date.Blocks to the corners of the seat rails are of a later date.There is some movement to the back and back legs of one chair with the seat joint.
