20th century AD. A glazed ceramic squat jar with chamfered and everted rim; the sidewall painted with scenes depicting the Süleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul, and two images of Solomon seated on the magic carpet which transported him from Damascus via Istakhar to Kabil in one night. 373 grams, 10.5cm (4"). Ex central London collection; acquired in London, UK, in the early 1980s. Fine condition, rim abraded.

Condition can sometimes vary though is generally VG to Ex.
A Thea Porter Iraqi Samawa-carpet coat, 1970, un-labelled, lined in rabbit fur and heavily embroidered with abstract and floral patterns in shades of pink and orange, chest approx 92cm, 36inAn identical coat was featured in British Vogue, November 1970, modelled by Maudie James and photographed by Barry Lategan. This image, and a similar example, can be seen in 'Thea Porter: Bohemian Chic' by Laura McLaws Helms & Venetia Porter, pp.60-61. CONDITION REPORT: Good condition.
