Registration No: 212 APX Chassis No: SAZ.37 MOT: ExemptNotably nicely presented example, worthy of close inspection!Covered over 10,000 trouble-free miles while in the vendor's nine-year ownershipPresented in its original and appealing colour combination of Sand over Sable with Beige hide interior upholsteryPurchased by the vendor from a marque specialist in 2016 for £69,000Rolls-Royce launched the Silver Cloud in April 1955, and it was the company's core model range for the next 11 years. For the final iteration, the Silver Cloud III, the exterior dimensions were subtly altered, the interior remodelled and the weight reduced by some 220lbs. Engine improvements included replacing the 1.75-inch SU carburettors with 2.0-inch ones and raising the compression ratio to 9:1. The resulting extra performance allowed the 0-60mph dash to be completed in just 10.1 seconds and a mean top speed of 114.3mph. The obvious visual change was the adoption of four headlamps. Less noticeable were the slightly increased slope of the bonnet and the shorter (by 1.5 inches) radiator grille.Chassis SAZ.37 was supplied new through Rolls-Royce agent P. J. Evans of Birmingham and was delivered on the 29th October 1962 to the first owner, a Mr E. F. Cash Esq of 147 Moor Green Lane, Birmingham, who is understood to have been an embroidery shop owner. Specified from the factory in Sand over Sable paintwork with a Beige hide interior upholstery with Fawn headcloth and Cumberland stone carpet, this is pleasingly still the colour scheme in which the Cloud is presented today. The Cloud was further optioned with electric windows, 620T radio, and Avon tubeless tyres when new. Acquired by the vendor from a Rolls-Royce and Bentley specialist in 2016 after being seen during his search for a Cloud III, this specific model was desired by the vendor due to memories of being taken to watch Derby County Football Club in a Cloud III by his father’s friend and business partner, Sam Longson, while Mr Longson was in his role as Derby Country Chairman!Purchased for the value of £69,000, the vendor has covered over 10,000 trouble-free miles in his nine-year ownership, with the Cloud now displaying c.76,500 credible miles on the odometer. Well-maintained during the vendor's ownership by a classic car specialist, the Rolls-Royce has been lavished with some £12,750 worth of expenditure, with maintenance including servicing; power steering fettling and underside attention in 2022; wheel refurbishment in 2021; and renewed starting equipment, brake refresh and speedometer overhaul in 2018. Supplied with a history file that includes the RREC chassis records, invoices from the vendor's ownership, a collection of MOT certificates and a current V5C document showing four former keepers and is accompanied by a touring spares package. Entered into the RREC Concours for cars covering over 3,000 miles per year while in the custodianship of the vendor, chassis SAZ.37 came within two marks of winning, with the vendor admitting ‘school-boy errors’ accounted to the falling short such as a headlight bulb failure on route.A notably nicely presented example in its original colour combination, this Cloud is worthy of close inspection! Equipped with coil-and-wishbone independent front suspension, a leaf-sprung Salisbury rear axle and four-wheel disc brakes. Available with 2.4, 3.4 and 3.8 Litre engines and with either automatic or manual transmissions, the MkII is still a desirable and usable classic in modern times. This example of the desirable 3.8 litre MkII is a fantastic opportunity for someone to get stuck into a Jaguar restoration. Registration No: OYY 25D Chassis No: 4097339 MOT: ExemptUnderstood to be 1 just 74 examples produced102,800 credible miles recordedOffered with a history folderIn need of recommissioning after a period of storageIntroduced in 1965 the Bristol 409 sported a new trapezoidal grille but was otherwise stylistically indebted to its 408 predecessor (the two models' production lives overlapping somewhat). Under the skin the newcomer witnessed some real changes in terms of improvements in ride quality, performance and general refinement. Based around the marque's familiar 114-inch wheelbase box-section platform chassis equipped with independent coil-and-wishbone front suspension, a `live' Salisbury rear axle and four-wheel disc brakes, the 409 employed notably softer spring rates. However, the Saloon's poise and handling remained assured thanks to some skilfully revised geometry and more rearward-biased drivetrain mounts. Sourced from Chrysler, its 5.2 litre OHV V8 engine and three-speed automatic transmission were smooth and quiet in operation. Yet with a claimed 250bhp and 340lbft of torque on tap, the four-seater was reputedly capable of 0-60mph in 8.8 seconds and 132mph. Guaranteed exclusivity by its £4,989 price tag, the 409 boasted a luxurious but understated cabin. Only available for four years, just 74 are thought to have been made.First registered on 13th December 1966 and one of some 74 examples built, the Bristol Owner’s Club records reveal 'OYY 25D' as having special order discreet 'trafficator repeater lights' and Silver over Grey paint with Red upholstery. Displaying some 102,000 credible miles and its last MOT actually expiring on 9th August 2022, little is known about the early history of the 409 other than there were 4 keepers recorded between January 1978 and 1990. The old blue V5 states it was owned by Mr D. Pether of Gibralter between 1982 and 1990, before Mr R. M Soames of Harrow purchased the car in 1990.There are extensive records on file for work carried out in the ownership of Mr Pether, significantly with Bristol Cars at Filton in 1988 for in excess of c.£10,000, including a bare metal respray, door and boot alignment repair. A further £3,400 invoice with Bristol Cars in 1987, included a new headlining and carpet. Mr Soames’ ownership shows receipts for service items and general upkeep of the car with Bodycraft, Ashford, Middlesex. More recent work has included the shot blasting and powder coating of the wheels in 2019 and calliper seals in 2018. ‘OYY 25D’ is offered with a collection of receipts and old MOT history, an old blue V5 on file and the current V5C.
