A LARGE V'SOSKE JOYCE HANDMADE WOOL CARPET, C.390 X 390CM the central reserve woven with sunburst foliate medallion in golden yellow and cream tones, against a red ground, contained within two narrow borders. Founded in Michigan by two Polish immigrant brothers in 1920, V'Soske Carpets quickly became renowned in the US for their production of beautiful high quality carpets. When Vesta, one of the V'Soske brother's wives travelled to Europe in search of new business opportunities, a chance encounter with Jimmy Joyce and Burke Monaghan one evening lead her to achieve her objective. The three struck a deal in a bar in Oughterard, Co. Galway and a new partnership V'Soske-Joyce was born. V'Soske Joyce provided carpets to many Royal families worldwide, Harrods, hotels such as the Dorchester, Grosvenor House and the Ritz, Paris. In Ireland V'Soske Joyce carpets have furnished the ante-room of the Seanad, the Shelbourne Hotel, the St Stephen's Green Club and The Westbury to name but a few.

No evident tears, rips or significant staining. Pile is good. Some slight wear to the side chords.
