A HERIZ CARPETapproximately 432 x 326cmProvenance: From the Private Collection of a titled familyCondition Report: The carpet appears to be mid 20th century in date. It bears some minor wear consistent with age and use, but generally maintains good pile overall. Longest edges with some undulation and wear to the binding. Some sections have been re-bound in slightly varying colours of thread. Tasselled end with the expected wear and fraying. Some of the tassels have become unwound. The to the other end of the carpet with heavier wear. The fringing is worn short and this wear has encroached into the guard stripe slightly in places. The carpet should be described as a 'Souf'. Some minor wear, scuffs and 'pulls' consistent with age and use. A line of abrasion or 'pull' to one side of the central medallion. Fringing trimmed short at both ends.
