A LARGE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER BOWL, WANG HING & COMPANY, active c. 1854-1925. Of rounded form with three dragon support feet decorated with cranes in pond scene. Around the shoulder engraved with dates from 1909 - 1924 with sports scores from day and boarding school pupils, probably used as a trophy. Stamped to base WH 90. Approx. 22cm diam. Weight approx. 714 grams. Slightly misshapen around the rim. With some minor denting in places.

Bernard Et Flis "Sports" 162 Rue Ste Catherine Bordeaux the 3rd slide with Trains-Hornby appears post-war, the outline a Blue Etoile Du Nord type Locomotive advertising the shop "Bernard 162 Rue Ste Catherine-Bordeaux". Three programmes for athletics meetings held at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground in the Olympic years of 1908 and 1912, the 1908 example held on 25th July, with a colour cover featuring a 130 yards race for £550 between Postle (Australia) and Growcott (England), the meeting with numerous other events; a Chronicle Carnival programme for an athletics meeting held at Manchester United’s Old Trafford ground 2nd & 3rd August 1912, this being the first day issue, events for professional and amateur athletes, notable competitors including the international sprint champions Australia’s Jack Donaldson and America’s Charles E. Holway, also Frank Kanaly from the USA, the South African Reggie Walker who won gold in the 100m at the London Olympic Games in 1908, 32 pages plus wrappers, good condition; and a Broughton Harriers Athletic Club Annual Sports programme 27th July 1912 that carries an advertisement for the Old Trafford event featuring the £325 World Professional Sprint Championship Holway v Donaldson, 32 pages plus outer wrappers, reasonable condition, (3)
