Often referred to as the prettiest Alfa since the early 1960s Guillietta and holds firm as being one of the last of the true Alfa Romeo sports cars. This particular example has low ownership with only two keepers shown on the log book . The current owner is recorded to have taken possession in 1989. Accompanying the car is a large history file, original owner's documents and current MOT certificate. Originally registered as BPK 107Y she now sports the cherished number LTY561 included in the sale. To say the condition of this car is stunning is an understatement! On inspection this particular GTV is excellent in every respect, mechanically and cosmetically and serves as a credit to the long term ownership of its current custodian. The current owner states ''The Alfa GTV was sold to a Mr Charles Davies on 24/6/83 by Alfa suppliers Bell & Colvill. In the next 5 years it had all the checks done in the service booklet. The service book shows serviced up till 33137 miles in June 89. In August 89 was sold by John Gills of Bedale to a friend of mine, John Harris. John Harris worked for John Gills as a salesman, in 1995 he got a company car so put the Alfa into dry storage, with a mileage of 56098 (MOT certificates to prove this), until I bought in in April 2017. Following my purchase, I have decommissioned the Alfa, wheels have been refurbished and new tyres fitted, new brakes all round. Engine bay stripped to leave the block only in place, painstakingly cleaning and repainting everything and fitting a new radiator.'' Buyer's premium of 12% inclusive of VAT @ 20%
Triumph Model P (SPORTS MODEL) Registration number: BO 9008 Engine: 494cc date of first registration 03/04/1925 Engine number: 208358 TOR Frame number: 907928 MOT Expiry: N/A V5C Present 1925 500cc Side Valve Triumph with original patinaHere we have a very nice example of triumph's famous model p 494cc side valve single that created a sensation when it was introduced. The Model P debuted at the 1924 Motor Cycle Show. A no-frills, sidevalve-engined model, the newcomer was priced very competitively and at its level it undercut every other 500cc machine then on sale in the UK. The Model P was a quality machine at a rock bottom price and it was a runaway success. Output from Triumph's Priory Street works was soon running at an astonishing 1,000 machines per week, and the Model P's arrival undoubtedly hastened the demise of many a minor manufacturer. Production continued until the decade's end, by which time the Model P had spawned a number of derivatives, models N, Q and QA. This example is in extremely nice condition mechanically and cosmetically, with correct tinware and decent paint. Eligible for the famous Banbury Run this Triumph's estimate represents extremely good value for an iconic vintage Flat Tanker. With an extensive history file with various receipts, previous MOT`s, copy instruction books and handwritten notes from the current vendor (viewing essential) The bike has ran in various motorcycle club events including good finishing postions at Beamish and finishes at Howick (200 miles one day).

Barn find: a unique Rover Ten 'Disco Volante'. A custom made aluminium ‘Disco Volante’ built on a Rover Ten chassis. The car was built for Flt Lieutenant Crowley by Mitchenall Bros., Darrington, and was exhibited at the Earl’s Court Car Show in the early ‘50s. An article at the time described the alterations: ‘A special radiator was designed and a horizontal S.U. substituted for the previous downdraught model, with the result that the height at the scuttle was lowered by about 15 inches. A straight-through exhaust pipe and a sports coil were the only other mechanical alterations made at the time.’ Read the article here: https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/archive/article/november-1953/47/earls-court-motor-show
*Beaumont College, Old Windsor, Berkshire. An album containing 137 real photo postcards of the school, collected by a pupil, Leo Burgess, circa 1911-20, comprising general school views including aerial shots, St John's, cyclists, the grounds, chapel and interiors, classes, playground, cricket field, library, gym, rowing teams on the river, cricket, rugby and other sports teams, armoury and instructors, shooting range, matron, horseriding, swimming pool, art and other classrooms, laboratory, the chaplain, OTC selection, band parades, many with captions in the negative and some with annotations to versos, corner-mounted and generally VG, some mounts and leaves blank, contemporary boards with home-made cloth cover An extraordinary pictorial record of this Jesuit public school which opened in 1861 and closed in 1967. Beaumont College was one of only two public schools to send their first Eleven to Lord's and their first Eight to Henley, the other being Eton College. When de Coubertin visited England in the course of researching the basis of his new Olympic movement the four schools he visited were Eton, Harrow, Rugby and Beaumont. The Combined Cadet Force was the only one in the country to be affiliated to the Household Division. Beaumont is one of the few great schools now gone, the property owned by Principal Hotels De Vere Beaumont Estate. The album has the school colours stitched to the cloth cover, Burgess's name on the front endpaper and a card sent to him in 1916 is included in the album. (1)

The event came to be known as the Austerity Games, because of the economic climate and post-war rationing. A record 59 nations were represented by 4,104 athletes, in 19 sport disciplines. Germany and Japan were refused permission to participate while the USSR chose not to send any athletes. The United States team won the most total medals, 84, and the most gold medals, 38. The host nation won 23 medals, 3 of them gold. Star performers at the Games, whose autographs are all included in this visitors' book, were Dutch sprinter Fanny Blankers-Koen, dubbed 'The Flying Housewife', who won 4 gold medals in athletics; American Bob Mathias, winner of the decathlon and youngest male ever to win an Olympic gold medal at the age of 17; and Veikko Huhtanen of Finland who had a medal haul of 5 including 3 golds. Not every medal winner is in this book, notable absentees include the winners of the 3 British gold medals for rowing and sailing, these events taking place at Henley and Torbay. There are 223 medal-winner autographs from 26 countries with very little duplication. Multiple medal winners were largely only asked to sign once with their medal wins noted in the right column for individual and team events. It appears that 13 non-medal winning competitors and the USA swimming manager have also signed. The full list of medal winner autographs is available from the auction office. (1)
