* Williamson (Captain Thomas & Howitt, Samuel). Three engravings originally published in ‘Oriental Field Sports’, pub. T.M.McLean, 1819 or later, three hand coloured aquatint etchings by H.Merke after designs by Samuel Howett, a little staining and dust soiling to margins, each approx. 370 x 485 mm. The prints are titled :- The Common Wolf Trap, A Tiger killed by a Poisoned Arrow and Chase after a Wolf. (3)

SULLIVAN JOHN L.: (1858-1918) American Boxer, recognised as the first World Heavyweight Champion 1881-92. An unusual vintage gentleman`s shirt collar, with label of maker`s Whitehill & Bigelow, inscribed in dark fountain pen ink by Sullivan, `Compliments of John L Sullivan to whoever gets the collar, March 3-1907, To stop arguments, Size 21 inches`. With extensive staining and age wear, lightly affecting the writing. Professionally mounted on black alongside a bold pencil signature by Sullivan (`John L Sullivan`s compliments, Boston, Mass,`) on a white card and also alongside four different reproduction images of Sullivan in various poses. Framed and glazed in a plain black wooden frame to an overall size of 23 x 21. Rare. The collar only FR, the signed card VG Provenance: The collar was originally sold at auction by Christie`s in New York in their sale of Sports Memorabilia on 26th March 1994 (Lot 168, Estimate $500-700). Their catalogue description states that the other side of the collar bears the sentiment `The Noblest Roman of The All-Now will you be good-That`s all`.

BADER DOUGLAS: (1910-1982) British World War II Ace (22.5 victories), recognised for his important role during the Battle of Britain. A printed 8vo menu for a dinner and evening of entertainment organised by the Confectionery & Allied Trades Sports Association in London, 10th April 1953, signed in bold pencil to the inside by Bader, and also signed by television presenter Eamonn Andrews in bold pencil, both with their names alone. Most loose in their boxes. A few AF, most VGC some cleaning required. Together with a 1:18th Maisto Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR. Plus a large 1:12th scale Pocher model kit (part assembled) of a 1984 Ferrari Testarossa, cannot be guaranteed to be complete. Also a Le Mans 2003 poster, glazed, a Ford V8 prototype 1963-1969 poster, framed drawings of Alan Prost and his F.1 cars and a Jonathan Wood drawing of Daman Hill. GC
A unique Mettoy prototype Jaguar XK120/140 2-seater sports car. A pre-production mock-up, 8cm long painted in mid blue with maroon seats, fitted with metal wheels and rubber tyres. Planned to be part of the Corgi launch during 1956 but it was not produced. This unique example is a well-developed prototype, made of die-cast Mazak and professionally painted/finished to an unusual scale. The front wheels are powered by a friction motor. The metal base is secured by with one screw for access to the motor. Part of the above information was given to the owner, (a Mettoy employee at the time) when the company changed hands in 1983. VGC an interesting item. See illustration.

AN ENGINE TURNED SOLID SILVER CASED DUNHILL SPORTS LIGHTER DATED 1937 Made in England, patent number 288806, with double wheel lift arm and adjustable flint mechanism, marked AD and London hallmark, dimensions are 49/42/15mm. C: The case is in good condition with slight tarnishing and some light scratches and wear to the surface, the lighter strikes but does not light due to no fuel.
