Lot 707

A striking example of Ferrari's era-defining Testarossa, UK-supplied in right-hand drive and only 10,500 miles from new. When Ferrari introduced the Testarossa at the Lido on the Champs-Elysees on the eve of the 1984 Paris Salon de l’Auto, it caused a sensation. The crisp, square-cut almost deliberately functional lines and superior mechanical specification instantly rendered the 512BBi yesterday’s car and it soon came to be rightly regarded as possibly the best car Ferrari had ever built.Today, the Testarossa has become a design icon, symbolic of eighties culture, and despite a period a few years ago when interest plateaued, its popularity has returned and the market is strengthening rapidly. It’s not a surprise really since the Testarossa offers a rare package of serious performance, practicality, reasonable comfort and confidence-inspiring handling at high speed that becomes almost addictive. One of just 438 UK-supplied, right-hand drive examples, this immaculate Testarossa is classically finished in Rosso Corsa with Crema hide and Rosso carpets and was delivered new by H.R.Owen on the 7th January 1991 to its first lucky owner. On offer today from a private collection, it has been lightly used in recent years but, as can be seen from our images, remains in simply fabulous condition. It’s been enhanced with an upgraded Pioneer CD unit and a glorious sounding Koenig sports exhaust system and has covered the grand total of 10,475 miles. Naturally, at this low mileage, the car’s history file is not huge but it appears to be comprehensive. The file contains previous MOT Certificates between 1993 and 2003 and the original service book is present with five stamps. H.R. Owen carried out the first service and a combination of Rardley, Maranello Sales and Keys Motorsport have looked after the car since then, with the last stamp by Keys Motorsport in 2013 on 10,351 miles including cambelt and tensioners. When the car was serviced by Keys, a glowing condition report was written for the car, testifying to its lovely condition and this is included within the history file. The car is accompanied by the jack, tool roll and its original leather book pack with manuals and instruction books. This is an exceptional example of a much sought after model in lovely original condition which simply needs to be prepared for use and enjoyed.SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: TESTAROSSAYear: 1991Chassis Number: ZFFAA17C000086415Registration Number: H865 MPBTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 23494Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 10475 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Cream Leather

Lot 711

Attractive, beautifully presented, low mileage, 360 Spider in a rather smooth colour combination.Produced between 1999 and 2005, the Ferrari 360 was the successor to the well-loved Ferrari F355, and to this day enjoys a loyal fanbase among Ferrari and supercar enthusiasts. With its Pininfarina-penned flowing lines, the 360 marked a significant design shift away from the angular nature of the F355, along with enjoying a lower unsprung weight, more powerful engine and an all-aluminium space-frame chassis which was reported to be 40% stiffer than its predecessors. The Modena was the first model to arrive in 1999, but the Spider was hot on its heels, being unveiled at the 2000 Geneva Motor Show. Due to the mechanics of the retracting roof, significant engineering changes were required for the Spider version, including enlarging the side air intakes and moving the inlet manifolds towards the centre of the engine. Offered here is a lovely low mileage Ferrari 360 Spider supplied new to the UK and specified with F1 paddle-shift transmission, Argento metallic silver paintwork and a Blu Scuro leather interior with matching carpets and hood. The clean HPI certificate shows two previous keepers prior to 2016 when our vendor purchased the Ferrari from his business partner. Only enjoyed on sunny days and dry stored correctly in a heated garage or professional storage facility today this example indicates just under 7,500 miles, presents beautifully and is offered complete with its history file, tool kit and tyre inflator. It's been diligently maintained by the local Ferrari main agent and invoices within the file show routine maintenance and a cam and auxiliary belt change at 6,391 miles. Rarely do examples of the Ferrari 360 come to market in such well-preserved condition and a tasteful colour combination that makes a refreshing change from red with cream. The 360 is a great looking modern classic that is fast becoming sought after and if you are to use your sports car only on sunny days, then let it be a drop-top Ferrari. This is a car in which you would be proud to arrive at any function, having enjoyed that glorious Ferrari V8 soundtrack on the way there, and, if the function were to prove a little boring, the drive home could be the high-spot of your day.SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 360 SPIDER F1Year: 2001Chassis Number: ZFFYT53C000123913Registration Number: Y991 CLATransmission: F1Engine Number: 62633 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 7447 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Navy BluClick here for more details and images

Lot 717

Initially purchased through Nigel Mansell Sports Cars Ltd, this smart 328 GTS has led a sheltered life covering a mere 2,760 miles from new.The Ferrari 328 GTS and GTB made their worldwide debut at the 1985 Frankfurt Motor Show and its styling was an obvious evolution of the Ferrari 308 Series, however, Pininfarina's Leonardo Fioravanti had softened his previous design and it still remained a popular choice with Ferrari aficionados. Two variants of this mid-engine sportscar were offered, the Gran Turismo Berlinetta Coupé and the Gran Turismo Spider which featured a removable Targa top, offering an exhilarating open-air driving experience and affording the driver and their fortunate passenger unbridled access to the unmistakable howl of the dry-sump Ferrari V8.Under the engine cover is the same transversely-mounted, fuel-injected V8 from the Ferrari 308 Quattrovalvole, with an increase in displacement. By increasing both bore and stroke, the quattrovalvole's capacity was raised to 3,186cc which, together with a higher compression ratio, revised pistons and an improved Marelli engine management system, lifted maximum power to 270bhp at 7,000rpm. Top speed was raised to within a whisker of 160mph (258km/h) and 60mph arrived from a standing start in 5.5 seconds. This superb, right-hand drive 328GTS Targa-topped convertible was supplied by Nigel Mansell Sports Cars in the Isle of Man to a Mr Roy Dowle in March 1990 at a cost of £97,500, which included £1,995 worth of Ferrari luggage, and the original invoice is in the car's history file. Initially registered, G328 AJT, its Manx registration was GMN 328 for 19 years before subsequently returning to its UK registration in July 2011 when it was purchased by our vendor. Having been dry stored for a considerable number of years, it has covered a mere 2,670 miles from new and is described as in generally good condition, although in need of mechanical recommissioning simply because it's spent some time off the road. This classic Ferrari V8-engined sports car has an understandably small history file, containing Isle of Man registration and export documents, its Ferrari leather-bound book pack containing Ferrari pre-owned booklets, owners manual, service booklet and dealership network booklet.A UK-supplied, right-hand drive, GTS is a rare find at this tiny mileage and has been guided to allow for the appropriate engine service to return to manufacturers parameters.SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: 328 GTSYear: 1989Chassis Number: ZFFWA20C000082244Registration Number: G328 AJTTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 18633Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 2670 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Cream LeatherClick here for more details and images

Lot 720

Beautifully presented, UK-supplied California with less than 20,000 miles and a superb service history.Introduced at the Paris Salon in 2008, the Ferrari California had been conceived as a ‘Grand Tourer’ rather than an out-and-out sports car and was intended to appeal to those who might otherwise opt for a Bentley, an Aston Martin or an SL-Class Mercedes-Benz. It was quite a radical move for the marque pioneering Maranello’s first front-mounted V8 engine, two-piece folding metal roof, dual clutch seven-speed transmission, direct fuel injection and multi-link rear suspension. Styled by Pininfarina and subject to over 1,000 hours of wind tunnel testing, the new car utilised aluminium for both its chassis and bodywork construction. Related to that in the F430, its 4297cc 'quad cam', 32-valve V8 developed some 453bhp and 358lbft of torque and was allied to the aforementioned dual clutch seven-speed transmission as standard. Despite being one of the least expensive models in the range, the California boasted carbon-ceramic disc brakes and the traction control system from the marque's flagship 599 and, a ‘grand tourer’ it might have been, but 0-60mph in 3.9 seconds and 193mph were firmly in ‘junior supercar’ territory. Less demanding to drive than its siblings and therefore more approachable during everyday, 'real world' motoring, the notional 2+2-seater more than fulfilled its brief of attracting a whole new generation of customers to the Ferrari fold.Entered here by its second long-term owner, this impressively specified Ferrari California has only covered 19,600 miles from new supported by a comprehensive main dealer service history. Supplied new by H.R. Owen, the specification included a traditional Rosso Corsa paint finish and a stunning Daytona-inspired, full leather interior. The majority of the cabin is finished in ‘Cuoio Naturale’ using the finest quality natural full-grain cowhide and the Daytona seating is a combination of Naturale with Crema centre panels cross banded with Naturale. The door panels are lined in quilted Crema leather and the whole cabin is enhanced with Beige Chiaro stitching. The dashboard, headlining, A-pillars and steering wheel all make use of the light tan Naturale leather making for a very opulent and stylish interior. The comprehensive specification includes electric seats, steering wheel, LEDS, 20-inch Diamond Cut sports wheels, parking camera, Magnaride dual-mode suspension, an iPod connection, yellow calipers and a similarly coloured rev counter. The service record shows twenty two H.R.Owen entries relating to annual servicing and general mechanical attention culminating in a £3,087.33 invoice for a service and light maintenance in May 2020.One of the most stylish convertibles in the world, the California is also relatively practical, not demanding the levels of daily worship requested by some of its more complex siblings, and consequently the ownership market is somewhat larger. They have now reached a level that many feel is the clever investment, and we cannot disagree when you look at the stunning example on offer here. The Registration Number illustrated, (8 NOV), does not form part of the sale and the car will revert to its original registration, LJ11 EPA.SpecificationMake: FERRARIModel: CALIFORNIAYear: 2011Chassis Number: ZFFLJ65C000180919Registration Number: LJ11 EPATransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: 173092 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 19320 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Cuoio

Renée Sintenis (1888 Glatz/Schlesien - 1965 Berlin) (F)'Liegendes Fohlen', 1919, Bronze, braun patiniert, 6 cm x 12 cm, RS monogrammiert, Expertise von Frau Dr. Berger anbei, Literatur: WVZ. Renée Sintenis (1888 Glatz/Silesia - 1965 Berlin) (F)'Liegendes Fohlen', 1919, bronze, brown patinated, 6 cm x 12 cm, RS monogrammed, expertise of Dr. Berger attached, literature: WVZ. Buhlmann 129, with Fig. p. 210.Renée Sintenis belongs to the most important German sculptresses and graphic artists of the classical modern age. She worked mainly in Berlin and is known for her animal sculptures, sports sculptures, portraits and nudes. In 1905 the family moved to Berlin, where she took drawing lessons while still at school, which would later be followed by studies in decorative sculpture at the Kunstgewerbeschule Berlin. When the artist met Georg Kolbe a few years later, she became his model. Inspired by this activity, she herself began to create female nudes, expressive heads, athletes and self-portraits in drawings, in etchings and in sculptural form. "After 1915, she created the striking animal figures that became her artistic life's theme. Since she rejected monumentality in sculpture, she created mainly small-format sculptures. These slender works of art, such as horses, deer, donkeys and dogs, enjoyed great popularity with the public." These were to be cast into her mould at the Hermann Noack picture foundry for decades from 1913. In 1931 Renée Sintenis became the second woman - after the famous Käthe Kollwitz - to be admitted to the Prussian Academy of Arts. However, as for many Berlin artists, the seizure of power by Adolf Hitler also meant a profound break for her. She was expelled from the Academy, and the practice and exhibition of her works were banned. In addition, the Second World War banned bronze casting around 1941, as the metal was indispensable for the armaments industry. Artistic work became almost impossible for Renée Sintenis at this point at the latest. In October 1942, her husband died unexpectedly, and in 1945, Allied bombing raids destroyed her studio, causing the loss of numerous personal possessions and many artistic works. But the end of the war marked a new beginning for the artist. In post-war Berlin, she succeeded in building on her successes of the 1920s and early 1930s. Renée Sintenis also achieved academic honours: in 1955 she was appointed professor at the Hochschule für Bildende Künste and at the West Berlin Akademie der Künste. Her Berlin Bear, a scaled-down replica of a bronze sculpture she created in 1932 in silver and gold, became a coveted trophy at the annual Berlinale film festival. The little foal can be dated to 1919 and is thus a sign of the great success of the Berlin artist's artistic practice. It was not without reason that she was exhibited by the gallery owner Alfred Flechtheim from 1920 onwards. Until then, she had represented Wolfgang Gurlitt, who exhibited her works alongside those of Max Beckmann, Max Liebermann and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff. She also became an internationally recognised artist with exhibitions at the National Gallery in Berlin, the Tate Gallery London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, in Paris, Glasgow and Rotterdam, whose works are still represented in important collections worldwide.

This is a very, very impressive P5B and undoubtedly a 'Best of Breed'.In 1965, Rover's Managing Director, William Martin-Hurst, secured the tooling and production rights to the 3,528cc all-alloy OHV V8 '215' engine from Buick and, after a period of development, it was ready for use in Rover's model range. Although a marriage of expediency, the union between Rover's stately P5 and the ex-Buick V8 resulted in an unexpectedly fine motor car. The new aluminium V8 was significantly lighter and considerably more powerful than its predecessor, delivering 160bhp and a massive leap in torque to 210lb.ft. at 2,600rpm, vastly improving pace, comfort, balance, handling, economy and reliability.Launched in 1967, the Rover P5B (or P5 Buick if you prefer) was conceived to stave off increasingly refined competition from the likes of Jaguar and Mercedes-Benz. Available in Saloon and Coupé guises, both of which employed four doors, the big Rover was equipped with independent torsion-bar front suspension, a leaf-sprung 'live' rear axle and disc/drum brakes. Fitted with three-speed automatic transmission and power-assisted steering as standard, it proved a relaxing drive although capable of a comfortable 115mph. The exterior was mostly unchanged, apart from bold '3.5-Litre' badging, a pair of fog lights which were added below the headlights, creating a striking four-light array and the fitting of chrome Rostyle wheels with black painted inserts. The svelte Coupé had a slightly lower roof-line, slimmer chromed window surrounds, twin-armchair rear seats and additional dashboard instruments, and is the most collectable variant today. Production lasted until 1973 by which time 11,501 Saloons and 9,099 Coupés had been built, however, survivors are thought to number in the hundreds.First seeing the light of day some 49 years ago in April 1973 and recently the subject of a rotisserie restoration to the very highest of standards, this outstanding P5B Coupé is finished in gleaming Bordeaux Red with a contrasting roof in Silver Birch and has to be one of the very best, if not ‘the’ best, available today. The 'Gentlemen's Club' interior is absolutely superb in light tan leather with mushroom carpets and burr walnut veneers and is the result of many hours of work by talented craftsmen. The accompanying worksheets and list of parts used is one of the most comprehensive on record with a detailed outlay amounting to in excess of £100,000! Tasked with bringing the Rover back to life, Trevor Farrington Ltd, Classic and Sports Car Specialist, has left no stone unturned resulting in this outstanding example that would satisfy the most pedantic. Every nut and bolt has received attention with the fit and finish being a true credit to the craftsmen and engineers that were tasked with this extensive rebuild. In period, these big coupés were head turners and were perceived to belong to comfortably off owners who appreciated quality and had a certain sense of style, and basically, nothing has changed. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the standard and quality of this incredible gentleman’s carriage. Please note that the cherished registration number shown, DPO 3L, does not form part of the sale. SpecificationMake: ROVERModel: P5BYear: 1973Chassis Number: 84507788DRegistration Number: WWE 609LTransmission: AutoEngine Number: 84019796Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 14330 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Light Tan HideClick here for more details and images

This multiple Concours d'Elegance-winning XK150S is in simply stunning condition. A progressive development of the sensational XK120 and XK140, the XK150 retained the same basic chassis, 3.4-litre engine and four-speed Moss transmission of its predecessors but, partly due to the growing US demand for more comfortable and refined sports cars, benefitted from an entirely new body providing increased interior space and improved visibility courtesy of a single-piece wrap-around windscreen. A higher front wing line and broader radiator grille were other obvious differences but the new model's main talking point was its Dunlop disc brakes; at last the XK had stopping power to match its prodigious straight-line speed. Introduced in the spring of 1957, the XK150 was available at first only in Fixed and Drophead Coupé forms, the open roadster (OTS) version not appearing until the following year. At 190bhp, the engine's maximum power output was identical to that of the XK140, so performance was little changed, but ‘Special Equipment' and 'S' versions offered 210 and 250bhp respectively, the latter delivering an astonishing 0-60mph time of 7.3 seconds and a top speed of 136mph. This improvement in performance resulted from the adoption of a Weslake-developed, straight-port cylinder head, high-compression pistons, triple 2” SU carburettors and twin electric fuel pumps. Overdrive and a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox were the transmission options, the latter becoming an increasingly popular choice, whilst a Thornton ‘Power-Lok’ limited-slip differential was available for the 150S. Steel wheels remained the standard fitting although XK150s so equipped are a great rarity as most were sold in SE (Special Equipment) form with centre-lock wire wheels. The much-admired chromed Jaguar Mascot was made available as an optional extra on an XK for the first time.In the early months of production, the vast majority of XK150S 3.4-litre Roadsters were headed for the USA in order to fulfil bulging order books, as is the case with T832078DN, on offer here. Its Heritage Certificate confirms that it was built in left-hand drive, fitted with a manual gearbox with overdrive and finished in Gloss Black with a red leather interior prior to being shipped in April 1959 to Jaguar Cars, New York and onwards to its first American owner. We imagine that the Jaguar led an exciting life for the following 34 years and next reappeared in 1993 when it was imported into Australia by Sydney Businessman, Mark Hayward, who was looking for a sound car that he could restore with the clear intention of winning multiple Concours in Australia. The comprehensive history file and photographic record of the restoration show exactly the extent and level of resource ploughed into this stunning XK150S Roadster with costs of around £100,000 at the time (c.£300,000 in today's terms). UK-based, XK Engineering were involved in the procurement and shipping of parts and there are reams of invoices and correspondence with everyone involved from Abbott Australasia PTY.LTD., O&S Sports Car Restorations and Gavin King’s 'Concours Sportscars Restorations'. All concerned were made aware that only the best would do and the exacting restoration and conversion to right-hand drive took until Easter 1994 to complete. The fact that the car still remains capable of Concours success, is testament to the standard achieved. There followed years of involvement in National Concours d'Elegance competitions attaining many 'Outright Winner' placings including a number of 100 Point scores (Perfect) suggesting that the Jaguar was rated as amongst the finest examples of the marque to be viewed anywhere in the world. T832078DN returned to England in 2013 and was purchased by our vendor, an XK enthusiast who was looking for a special example that presented well but was enjoyable to drive on Tours and long trips. During his ownership he has competed in various events which included the 2013 Arctic Circle, the 2016 Targa Florio and the Three Castles Welsh Classic Trial. The brief to his engine builder was to build a totally reliable engine to do these events with the work entrusted in 2013 to Steven James Engineering and Martin Hunniball specialist machining. The result of the full rebuild of the matching numbers engine today is still perfect oil pressure and lusty clean performance. It's now time for a new owner to enjoy this very special, well-historied XK150S Roadster and, at this this guide, it must surely be irresistible.SpecificationMake: JAGUARModel: XK150 SYear: 1959Chassis Number: T832078DNRegistration Number: OSL 889Transmission: Manual/ ODEngine Number: VS1978-9Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 78840 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: RedClick here for more details and images

Beautiful 'First Edition' Plus Six in the Moonstone Blue launch colour with only 1,325 miles. The Morgan Motor Company’s arrival in the 21st Century was signalled by its first new model in 19 years, the Plus Six and the fact that they were now taking themselves very seriously was the model’s first public appearance at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019 and not in the ballroom at the Abbey Hotel in Malvern as had been the case with previous new car launches. It may look like any other Morgan, but looks can be deceptive. After 110 years of production, Morgan have completely transformed the car without changing the classic traditional look, in fact the only part this car shares with previous models is the bonnet catch. Underneath that classically styled bodywork lies Morgan’s new CX chassis, only the fourth new platform in Morgan’s 110 year history. (CX is 110 in Roman numerals). The CX-Generation aluminium bonded platform has been designed and developed for use in Morgan’s future high-performance models and features a 100% increase in torsional rigidity over the previous aluminium platform as well as being considerably lighter weighing-in at less than 100kg. In a nod to traditionalists, Morgan’s century-long association with wood continues with an Ash frame surrounding the cockpit with is designed to increase stiffness in that area.Snugly fitted underneath the Plus Six’s hand–rolled and hand punched aluminium bonnet is a 2,998cc, 24 valve, turbo-charged, straight-six cylinder power unit from BMW offering 335bhp @ 5,000rpm and 369lb.ft of torque @ 1,600rpm and coupled to an 8-speed ZF automatic gearbox. This is the same engine that was fitted to the BMW Z4 and Toyota’s Supra at the time of the Plus Six’s launch in 2019, both cars admired for their sparkling performance. This was the first time that Morgan had fitted a straight-six and also their first foray into turbo-charging and the results were impressive with 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds on the way up to 166mph.As a result of the new underpinnings there’s a 20mm extension in the wheelbase, 200mm more leg room and an 80mm wider cockpit. As always there is no ‘proper’ boot, but the CX chassis allows for a much deeper rear parcel shelf behind the seats for your overnight bags and umbrellas. The Plus Six featured a new suspension set-up with a double-wishbone MacPherson-strut derived system at the front with a four-link set up at the rear. The Plus Six also benefited from a set of newly designed 19-inch multi-spoke wheels and electromechanical power-steering. Four models were offered initially with two versions known as the Plus Six First Edition in a choice of Emerald Green or Moonstone Blue. The First Edition on offer here dates from 2020 and is presented in Moonstone Blue with a dark blue soft-grain leather, Dark Grey box-weave carpets and 19-inch Frost Grey Alloys. It was optioned from new with air-conditioning, heated seats, Kenwood audio system, paint protection film, puddle lights, side-screen bags, a luggage rack, Cibie driving/spot lamps and a sports exhaust system - we understand that the final purchase price was just short of £90,000.Our vendor, the car's only owner from new, has recently found himself unable to truly enjoy the Morgan he had waited so long to own. He has reached a stage where jumping in and out is no longer possible and so he regretfully is offering it for sale so that someone else may enjoy it rather than it sitting around waiting. It’s covered a total of 1,324 miles, is in commensurate condition and will be accompanied by all the usual dealer paperwork, manuals and warranties etc. This is a thoroughly modern Morgan that will stand the test of time and being offered at a very, very generous guide, is bound to attract some serious interest. Finished in brilliant Bianco, this supremely elegant 3500GT Spyder is one of only 242 ever built. The 1950s had proved very successful for Maserati in both sports car and Grand Prix racing and in 1957 the Italian sports car manufacturer announced an exciting new road car called the 3500GT. The rakish new car was styled by Carrozzeria Touring of Milan and featured their new hallmark 'Superleggera' body construction which consisted of lightweight aluminium body panels supported underneath by thin steel tubing that followed the general shape of the car. The engine was a road-going version of the competition 300/350S motor, a double overhead-camshaft straight-six unit with two spark plugs per cylinder, fuelled by a set of triple side-draft Weber carburettors with Lucas fuel injection as an option later in the model's production. Many chose the fuel-injected engine when new but as the technology was in its infancy a great number of 3500 GT engines were converted retrospectively to Weber carburettors. Factory original Weber-engined cars are therefore very rare.Presented at the 1957 Geneva Motor Show, the 3500GT was an instant hit and it wasn't long before Maserati realised there could be a great demand for an open top version. Carrozerria Frua had built a Spyder prototype on an early 3500GT chassis in 1957 and Carrozzeria Touring constructed two open-top versions, however, it was Carrozzeria Vignale who were sanctioned to produce the car for Maserati in 1959. Interestingly the Spyder didn't feature Touring's 'Superleggera' construction but was built with a steel body with an aluminium bonnet and boot lid. The wheelbase was shortened and front disc brakes and a limited-slip differential were options in 1959 and became standard equipment from 1960 onward with rear brake discs introduced as standard equipment in 1962.According to its Certificate of Authenticity issued by the Maserati Classiche programme, AM101*1375* was delivered on 13 April 1962 to the Swiss Maserati agent in Chiasso, just over the Italian border. Official concessionaire Martinello & Sonvico had specified the car in a stylish and very period combination of Biancospino (white) with a Pelle Blu Connolly interior and a matching blue hardtop. Examination of the Certificate confirms that this lovely Spyder remains ‘matching numbers’ and still retains its correct S5.17 ZF five-speed gearbox and Borrani steel/alloy disc wheels. The car's first owner was a Mr E Kendrick of 64 Century House, London, who chose to have the expensive and exotic car registered in Geneva, not unusual in the days of currency controls and punitive UK Taxes. Records accompanying '1375' show it to have been sold for 50,000 French francs by M. A Mezzo of St Vaast, Normandy to Yannick Le Prevost of Saint-Omer - both French citizens - on 18th March 1982. On 27 April 2002, another Frenchman, M. Gerard Fasseux, purchased the Maserati from Le Prevost, now living in Arques, and he in turn sold it to an Italian enthusiast, Sig. Massara, some 18 months later. With his new acquisition now in Milan, he entrusted Modenese Maserati expert Franco Tralli with a €65,000 programme of thorough, but mild and sympathetic recommissioning. All bodywork matters were left to another recognised marque and model specialist, Mario Galbiati. Within the substantial history file, there is a quote for Sig. Massara from Auto Sport dated 7/11/03 to the value of €47,730 covering the bodywork (side members, internal side members, floor, rear cross member, boot interior and doors etc.) and the car fully prepared and painted in its original Biancospino. The intention was always to maintain the wonderful originality of '1375', avoiding a US-style restoration with new, out-of-character leathers and period incorrect paint finishes. The interior is still the original, almost impossible to replicate, Connolly blue hide and even the luggage compartment is in period condition. All necessary mechanical work was completed to such a level of detail that when the engine was stripped down it was found that the original pistons were in excellent order, so were retained, modern replacements being of an inferior standard. Various stickers (on the wheels, for example) are as applied in 1962. Purchased by our London-based vendor in 2015 and initially UK-registered as 169 UYN, it was exported to Germany in 2019 in order that he could enjoy it when he was on business in Munich. Although now registered in Germany, and enjoying free movement within the EU, '1375' will be present at the Sywell sale. Should the car remain in the UK low rate import duty of 5% will be payable on the successful purchase price.Used lightly and well maintained since its recommission, the car remains in excellent mechanical and cosmetic condition and is one of the last 'unmolested' Vignale Spyders retaining that lovely 'original' feel. It's accompanied by an Owner's file which contains lots of early correspondence, bills of sale, German registration details, certificates, memberships, photographs of the 2003 recommission and a workshop manual. Naturally, most of this is in Italian. The Maserati Classiche report is not currently with the car.To conclude, therefore, we believe that the Maserati 3500 GT Spyder offers incredible value today against the car's in-period rival, the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder, recent sales of which have topped $20,000,000. As one of the prettiest Maseratis ever produced, this car deserves serious consideration and we welcome any inspection.  SpecificationMake: MASERATIModel: 3500 GTI VIGNALE SPYDERYear: 1962Chassis Number: 1011375Registration Number: TO BE REGISTEREDTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 1011375Drive Side: Left-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 20090 KMMake: LHDInterior Colour: Pelle Blue LeatherClick here for more details and images

One of just 562 right-hand drive examples on offer from twenty-five years of ownership. The 1955 launch of the 190SL cemented Mercedes-Benz's reputation as the car manufacturer for those who wanted elegance, build quality and a good turn of speed. Unsurprisingly most of the 26,000 units were sold to the North American market and it is believed just some 562 were made in right-hand drive. Although stunningly pretty, the 190 SL had stiff competition in the UK from domestic sports car manufacturers such as Jaguar, Austin-Healey and the significantly cheaper models from MG. Consequently, a UK-supplied 190 SL is perhaps the rarest of all sports cars from the era, especially compared to the huge amount of cars sold to countries who drive on the other side of the road. This delightful right-hand drive 190SL was first registered in the UK on the 18th January 1962. The colour is registered as being changed in 1984 from White to its current, rather fetching, shade of Fire Engine Red and the hard top is assumed to have been painted to match at the same time. Whilst the seating, carpeting, door cards and dashboard top-roll are finished in red the dashboard is painted grey, which may well be the original colour as all dashboards match the exterior paintwork. It is understood that the car saw some restoration works in 1984 whilst with its penultimate owner, which tallies with the colour change date. He kept the car for some fourteen years, selling it locally to our vendor in 1997 who has done nothing more than general servicing since. Our vendor informs us that his family has a long association with Mercedes-Benz’s SL range which started with his grandfather’s purchase of a 300SL Gullwing back in the day, regretfully conceding that only the later SL cars now remain! This car was bought locally from its 5th owner on the 14th May 1997 where it joined a collection made up largely of coachbuilt Bentleys and was appropriately stabled alongside two very fine SL Pagodas. Maintaining the car privately within their own workshop, our vendor’s family drove it occasionally and even then just locally, preferring more inclusive family jaunts offered by their other cars. Prior to the fresh MOT issued on the 26th April 2022, the car was last issued with an MOT in 2018, and it may be advisable to fit a new set of tyres and give the car a service and a thorough 'going over' before embarking on a long journey. With demand for the right-hand drive 190SL reaching ever increasing heights it is rare to see an example that isn’t so pin-sharp restored as to prove an anxious drive. This car is keenly estimated to reflect a condition that presents well but will require further detailing to make it exceptional, chief of which is a re-trim of the convertible hood. Once we are in possession of the Factory Data Card, we can confirm the original colours upon request and, as such, this pretty little 190SL offers the twin benefits of a presentable car that could be used without being too precious and the option of future works to return it back to factory original. It's presented to auction with an odometer reading of some 14,900 miles at the time of cataloguing, its Swansea V5C, previous MOTs and the current MOT which is valid until April 2023. Exceptionally well presented and fabulously maintained, this enthusiast owned, triple show-winning V8 GT is a fantastic example of the Esprit's swansong.Released as the successor to the hugely popular, Lotus Elan, the Esprit was unveiled to the world at the Paris Motor Show in 1975 and didn’t cease production until 2003, with 10,500 units produced, rightfully gaining a loyal following. Whilst the last-of-the-line examples look undeniably progressed compared to the original S1, the Giorgetto Giugiaro-based design clearly flows through all four series of Esprit. The vast majority of Esprit were fitted with 4-cylinder engines, both naturally aspirated and turbocharged, in 2.0 or 2.2-litre guises but from 1996, the in-house Lotus built twin-turbo V8 was finally ready to be ordered by those brave enough. This remarkable Type 918 V8 was an all-aluminium, 90° DOHC, 4-valves per cylinder engine with two Garrett turbochargers, built to produce around 500bhp but detuned to 350bhp in the interest of durability and reliability. Standing at just 1.12 metres (44.1in) high, the Esprit's low-slung, rakish aesthetic offers a 'fast-moving' appearance even when stationary. With 0-60 being dispatched in a fraction over 4 seconds on the way to a top speed of 175mph, the V8 GT's performance perfectly matches its looks. After a few years of searching, our vendor acquired this Esprit in August 2012 having found what he deemed to be the best and most original example on the market. He has been a passionate Lotus enthusiast for as long as he can recall and this passion is evident in the way the car is presented. It looks fabulous in Norfolk Mustard Yellow and has covered at time of cataloguing just 47,007 miles, corroborated by the service records and MOT history. In recent years it has averaged around 1,000 miles per year being used exclusively for specific car events such as Club Lotus weekends, classic car shows, club pub meets and runs out. It was also used it to attend Lotus Factory events at Hethel, including the 70th Anniversary meeting and to follow the Lotus Cup and Elise Trophy race series at various circuits across the country. Its impressive condition can be judged by its Concours success having attended many shows across the UK winning a number of trophies including:Best Lotus - 1st Place at the Classic & Sports Car show 2013Best Lotus - 1st Place at the Classic Car Show 2015Best British Sports Car - 1st Place at the Classic Car Spectacular Show 2019The car's comprehensive history file contains details of its service history (full Lotus Main Dealer) with its original stamped Handbook. Over £12,000 has been invested in maintenance and servicing in our vendors ownership with all services (except for the first two) carried out by Christopher Neils / Oakmere Lotus, with the most recent on 15th February 2022 which included a cam belt and auxiliary belt changes at a cost of £1,599.54. The history file also contains every MOT Certificate dating back to 2004, old tax discs, receipts/invoices for all work done, the original Owners Hand Book, original Sales Brochure, Alpine Car Audio manual and a Lotus Certificate of Vehicle Provenance.During the Pandemic, the car was SORN’d and, not using it for a long period, our vendor came to the realisation that he had accomplished everything that he had wanted to achieve with the Esprit. As can be seen from the car's spectacular condition, he enjoys 'detailing' and realistically he has taken the Esprits as far as it's possible to go, so now it's time to move it on and let someone else enjoy this lovely Lotus. With its low warranted mileage, stunning condition and ever-increasing rarity, this car would fit perfectly within any collection of significant motorcars, or could comfortably be driven to and from shows, with a very high chance of coming home with more silverware to add to the collection.SpecificationMake: LOTUSModel: ESPRIT V8 GTYear: 2001Chassis Number: SCCDA08231HC10200Registration Number: ESP 87VTransmission: ManualEngine Number: LL918001030755Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 47007 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images

Rare and desirable, 54/500, only 35,600 miles and in excellent condition. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986, and based on the three-door Sierra body-shell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2.0-litre turbo engine of now-legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars!In total 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra 'RS500 Cosworth'. If the RS Cosworth was a homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded 'evolution' model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980s Fast Ford! This stunning, UK-supplied, right-hand drive RS500 was finished in Black and believed to be delivered new through Bristol Street Motors Ltd. in Kent to its first owner, in March of 1988. Documentation with the car indicates that it had been enjoyed by five former keepers prior to being purchased by its long-term owner, Mr M. G. Whittingham from Stoke-on-Trent in 1992. Mr Whittingham bought the car from a Motorsport Preparation team near Lutterworth and was apparently very impressed with its wonderful condition. We believe that, at some point prior to Mr Whittingham’s ownership ‘54’ had been professionally re-shelled using a factory bodyshell, however, Mr Whittingham was never aware of this.He was to own the car for 29 years up until earlier this year and was very diligent when it came to keeping records. There are ten service references in the original service book - at 1,499 miles (08.06.88), 6,771 miles (15.01.89), 10,328 miles (23.05.90), 28,532 miles (08.11.92), 29,632 miles (13.07.98), 31,277 miles (04.06.11), 31,823 miles (14.05.12), 32,889 miles (01.04.15) and at 35,580 miles (17/12/2021). To add further reassurance, 14 MOT Certificates are present dating from April 1992 at 26,128 miles through to the most recent at 35,589 miles and valid through till December 2022 with ‘No advisories’. Furthermore, 21 tax receipts found in the history file tell us that the car was SORN’d in 1992, and again in 2004 all the way through to 2013. These periods off the road related to the owners personal circumstances, however, he was able to enjoy ‘54’ from 2013 up until the point of its sale early this year. The car’s history file contains the original service book, dealer directory, audio book, and RS500 supplement along with maintenance and service invoices dating from November 1992 through to most recently in November 2021. This latter service was carried out by Parkway Specialist Cars at 35,580 miles and included the following; renewal of engine oil and filter, replaced spark plugs, replaced air filter, replaced fuel filter, renewal of brake fluid, replace cambelt, replace ABS sensor, replaced discs and pads both-front and rear and fitted 5 new tyres.Chassis no. 054 was purchased by our vendor in 2022 as part of a quest to tick-off his childhood ‘bucket list’ of cars as the RS500 was once a key feature of his poster collection when he was younger, so naturally, it was near the top of the purchasing order. 54/500 (9093550) is now offered for sale in excellent condition having been recently serviced, with an MOT valid until December and supplied with a UK V5C and both sets of keys. An inspection of the accompanying images, and the car itself when viewing commences, will reveal that it remains in simply splendid condition and all it now needs is a committed and enthusiastic owner that will keep it in good shape for many years to come, and doesn’t mind turning a few heads in the process whilst behind the wheel. Delightfully original Series 3 with just two previous keepers and lots of period history. The Lotus Elan burst onto the scene in 1962 as the first road-going Lotus to use the now synonymous combination of a steel backbone chassis coupled to a separate fibreglass body. Colin Chapman proudly announced in the launch literature that "We wanted to build you a fun car."  A technologically advanced DOHC development of Ford's proven 'Kent' engine, bored out to 1,558cc provided the propulsion, whilst cutting-edge features such as all-round disc brakes, fully independent suspension, and rack and pinion steering provided agility and handling that was second-to-none.The Series 3 Fixed Head Coupé arrived in 1965 closely followed by the S3 soft-top. In line with Lotus's intention to move upmarket and justify an increase in prices, fit and finish had been improved over the earlier Elans and the Coupé sported a considerably smarter dashboard. The new S3 further benefited from revised windows with frames to reduce cabin noise and of course, the windows were now electrically operated. In common with many British sports cars from this era, this particular Elan Type 36, was supplied new to a Mr D Penny of Dorking, Surrey in kit form, thus avoiding the addition of UK Purchase Tax at the time, with the body finished in French Blue and a Black Vinyl interior. Once it was certified fit for use, the Elan stayed in long term ownership until 2005 and then enjoyed further committed ownership with its  second custodian until 2015. Forming part of an eclectic collection in recent years, it has been kept in dry storage but has been maintained as required to keep it on the button and ready to use and enjoy as intended.  With just two former keepers being recorded, the car remains delightfully original and unmolested to this day and is accompanied by a comprehensive history file which includes the original purchase invoices, including body and engine, old invoices, letters from Lotus and much more, a fascinating insight into times gone by. With its rigid backbone chassis and lightweight fibreglass body an Elan is a very enjoyable car out on the open road and can surprise many with its race inspired nimble performance and superb handling, a true driver’s delight. The S3 coupé is arguably the most beautiful of all the early Elans and this little French Blue example has many more years of enjoyment to offer.SpecificationMake: LOTUSModel: ELAN S3 COUPEYear: 1968Chassis Number: 36/7749Registration Number: VPA 182FTransmission: ManualEngine Number: LP11551LBADrive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black VinylClick here for more details and images

Number 002 of 500, this is a superbly presented example of one of the fastest, most capable, front-wheel drive cars ever produced. The Ford Focus RS500 made its global debut at the Leipzig Motor Show on April 9th, 2010 and marked the final swansong for production of the remarkable, second generation, Focus RS. The new and more powerful, limited-edition Focus RS500 model was launched as the ultimate performance Ford to provide the definitive driving experience for serious performance car enthusiasts. The new model was given the RS500 designation to highlight its strictly limited production run of 500 individually-numbered vehicles and featured a muscular 345bhp, 2.5-litre, 5-cylinder engine, which generated 15% more power than the standard Focus RS and delivered truly exhilarating performance. In the raw, the RS looked a bit of a 'beastie' with its gaping grille, 19-inch wheels, flared arches, deep diffuser, and a wing that would embarrass a Porsche Turbo, and left you in no doubt about its intentions, however, the limited-edition RS500 is even more dramatic, sporting a unique matt black 'foil' paint finish with matching alloy wheels and delivering a powerful visual impact unmatched by any other production Ford. The last of these remarkable vehicles left Ford's Assembly Plant in Germany during September 2010.Offered here is Number ‘002’ of the 500 built and was first registered in the UK on the 20th July 2010. It's a UK-supplied, right-hand drive car that had covered just 17,230 miles at the time of cataloguing. Our vendor is the car's second owner, having purchased it in July 2014, and we understand from him that the RS from brand new went straight to Mountune where some performance parts were fitted including their Sports Exhaust, brake caliper/disc kits and inlet plenum etc. These parts are still fitted to the Focus but the car's first owner wisely kept all the original parts and they have remained with the car and could be refitted if required as they are included in the sale. There is comprehensive service history with the car which is documented in the accompanying history file. The last visit to the Ford main dealer was in October 2021 and the RS500 has a current MOT valid until the 14th October 2022. Pleasingly, the vendor has generously included the very appropriate registration ‘R5 SOO’ in the sale of the vehicle.Supplied with a UK V5c, two sets of keys, the appropriate private registration plate, original parts along with the aforementioned history file containing details of its comprehensive service history, this car presents a special opportunity to own a rare RS model that joins a long line of iconic RS Fords.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: FOCUS RS500Year: 2010Chassis Number: WF0GXXGCDGAJ66872Registration Number: R5 SOOTransmission: ManualEngine Number: AJ66872 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 17230 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

This meticulously maintained DB7 Vantage has covered just 56,500 miles from new and is presented in beautiful cosmetic condition with excellent mechanicals.Aston Martin introduced the long-awaited Vantage version of their successful DB7 in 1999. Sporting a Cosworth-designed, 5.9-litre V12 producing 420bhp, the car was super-quick and was electronically limited to 185mph. The V12 had a serious appetite for air compared to its 6-cylinder predecessor, demanding a larger intake and other modifications to the frontal airflow were made to aid cooling. Other changes included chassis and braking upgrades to cope with the increased performance, and Ian Callum enlarged the grille, added fog lamps, and restyled the valances to give the car a more purposeful look. This fabulous DB7 Vantage is finished in Pentland Green with a classic Aston interior in Forest and Fawn leather. DB7s look good in most colours (apart from perhaps, Primrose) but the deep Pentland Green and the understated interior just suggest good taste. It was optioned from new with electrically operated heated front seats, electric mirrors, Alcantara headlining, a Parrot premium sound system with Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking sensors, heated front screen, air conditioning, 5-speed automatic gearbox with a 'Sports' function, traction control, embossed AM 'Wing' logos to front seats and burr oak details. In contrast to all this luxury, the bright red starter button and 18-inch alloys and black callipers pay a respectful nod to Aston's long sporting heritage. The original book pack appears as cared for as the rest of the car and the comprehensive service records have been stamped at the following mileages; 1, 8, 12, 17, 21, 23, 25, 32, 39, 42, 45, 48, 50, 51 and 54,000 miles, effectively once per annum. The Vantage was purchased by our vendor's late father in June 2016 and has only covered around 2,500 miles since then. During that period it's been looked after by Aston specialist, Andy Lee of Sandbach, Cheshire and remains in simply splendid condition, running and driving as you might expect from the car's history and level of care. The current indicated mileage is 56,463 and the MOT is valid until 1/05/2023.The expression "No expense spared" can properly be applied in the case of this lovely DB7 and your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to truly appreciate this exceptional motor car. SpecificationMake: ASTON MARTINModel: DB7 VANTAGEYear: 2001Chassis Number: SCFAB12381K301392Registration Number: X424 VWXTransmission: AutomaticEngine Number: AM2/01431 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 56463 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: LeatherClick here for more details and images

Very stylish in Silver Grey over Imola Red, this UK-supplied, right-hand drive, manual gearbox M3 has covered just over 29,152 miles from new.BMW’s third-generation M3, the E46, took the hearts of real sports car fans by storm when it was launched in 2000. With a lightweight construction and its high-revving, in-line 6-cylinder engine it embodied for many a return to the virtues of the legendary, first-generation cars, the E30. Priced on a par with the Porsche Boxster S, the E46 M3 was streets ahead in performance, challenging the much pricier 911 and Audi RS4. Stiffened, wider-tracked with big wheel arches and a massive front spoiler, it packed a 343bhp 3.2-litre ‘S54’ straight-six engine substantially re-engineered by the 'M' division. All cars were officially limited to 155 mph, although Autocar’s test model happily topped 160 mph.Offered here is a UK-supplied, right-hand drive E46 M3 fitted with the desirable manual gearbox and finished in stylish Silver Grey Metallic with Imola Red Nappa leather. It was first registered on the 1st March 2004 and has been enjoyed by three owners since then who have covered just 29,152 miles between them. Since leaving the factory, the car has been thoughtfully enhanced with the addition of genuine ‘BMW Individual parts’ such as a BMW carbon air box, BMW Performance strut-brace, updated steering wheel, later BMW wheels, an updated BMW boot lid along with a tasteful addition of Alcantara to parts of the interior etc. Pleasingly, the original parts were retained and they are included with the car. These parts can be seen in the auction hall during the sale days and naturally the car’s history file with its service book detailing work carried out over the years will be available for inspection.Sadly, the owner of this lovely M3 passed away recently and the car is being offered by his family. It was clearly much loved by the late owner who owned it from 2009 all the way up until his recent sad passing. It’s very hard to find a manual gearbox E46 M3 with this sort of sensible mileage on the market today and this particular example appears excellent all round. Silverstone Auctions are storing the M3 for the late owner’s family prior to the sale and we encourage and welcome your earliest inspection.SpecificationMake: BMWModel: M3 E46Year: 2004Chassis Number: WBSBL92060JR09154Registration Number: LG04 GYRTransmission: ManualEngine Number: 60443201Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 29152 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Imola Red LeatherClick here for more details and images

A fabulous, fully restored, 'best of breed', Triumph Stag with a manual gearbox/overdrive and finished in classic colours.Presented here for auction is a fully restored 1975 Triumph Stag classically finished in Leyland White with a superbly presented interior in Tan with matching Biscuit carpets. Supplied new to the UK and first registered in the summer of 1975, our vendor purchased this example from 40 years single ownership before commissioning a highly detailed, complete ground-up restoration with a Triumph specialist workshop. This restoration included a bare metal respray, extensive engine overhaul, new hood, completely refinished interior, and the drive train, including the gearbox, stripped and rebuilt using new or reconditioned parts wherever possible. New wheels were fitted with new tyres, the braking system overhauled and a new exhaust fitted. As you can see, the result is simply remarkable with a final finish the envy of Stag owners anywhere. As is often the case with no expense spared restorations, the overall cost of the parts and labour would far exceed today's very reasonable guide. It's accompanied by the history file which includes invoices supporting the restoration with images documenting the work, other related paperwork, its V5C registration document and the current MOT which is valid until September 2022. Undoubtedly one of the very best on the market, this classic British sports car now has another 50 years of enjoyable motoring to offer. SpecificationMake: TRIUMPHModel: STAGYear: 1975Chassis Number: LD35675ARegistration Number: HPO 4NTransmission: ManualEngine Number: LF029558HEA Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 75498 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: TanClick here for more details and images

Lot 466

With just one previous owner, 34,000 miles and a full service history, this stunning Orangerot GT3 is undoubtedly investment quality.Intended primarily for competition, although still fully road legal, the Porsche 911 GT3 can trace its ancestry all the way back through a succession of high-performance models to the legendary 911 Carrera RS of 1973. The car takes its name from the FIA's GT3 category of production sports car racing and has been produced in a variety of versions since its introduction in 1999 when the GT3 badges were applied to the Type 996 iteration of the perennial 911.The 3.6-litre flat-six engine, though, departed from mainstream Type 996 practice by virtue of its water-cooled cylinders, leaving only the heads cooled by air. Called the 'Metzger' engine after its designer, Hans Metzger, this unit was closely related to that of the Porsche 962 'Sports Prototypes' and the 911 GT1 racer. In the GT3 it produced 355 bhp, 59 horsepower more than in the standard 996, which was delivered to the wheels through a strengthened gearbox boasting interchangeable ratios. To make the GT3 fit for circuit use, the brakes, suspension, and wheels were uprated to cope with the substantial increase in performance, whilst aerodynamic downforce was enhanced by a larger front air dam and a distinctive rear spoiler. Weight reduction extended to the removal of the rear seats and most of the sound deadening, rear speakers, sunroof, and air conditioning, though the latter could be ordered as an option, as could a CD/radio. In its original Type 996 incarnation, as seen here, the 911 GT3 was produced up to 2006.This lovely example was purchased by our vendor from a friend in 2004 and has remained as part of his private Collection until now. It's a C16, UK-supplied, right-hand drive car with the 6-speed manual gearbox and is finished in Zanzibar Red Pearl Effect over a standard GT3 black leather interior with Recaro seats. Whilst in our vendor's care, the car has been looked after by RW Autos of Southwark and in 2010 benefitted from a major service by Porsche Chiswick at a cost of £8,000. The indicated mileage at the time of photography was 34,838 and the Porsche remains in generally very good condition commensurate with the low mileage. It's accompanied by its V5C, the current MOT and sundry service invoices. Used in the past for Continental touring including a trip to the Nürburgring, it has only been used lightly in recent years and is now ready for a new custodian to enjoy.NB: The Cherished Registration illustrated, OCB 700, does not form part of the sale.  SpecificationMake: PORSCHEModel: 911 -996Year: 2000Chassis Number: WPOZZZ99ZYS691272Registration Number: TBATransmission: ManualDrive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 34838 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Black leatherClick here for more details and images

Car #014 of just 50 official UK-market Passion Red examples; only 25,000 miles and just a single previous owner.By mid-1996, Mitsubishi's rallying success began to really reflect in Lancer Evolution sales. The 1996 WRC season brought Mitsubishi, together with a blisteringly quick Finn named Tommi Makinen, its first World Rally Championship drivers' title. The fiercely competitive Makinen borrowed the phrase "maximum attack" and used it to devastating effect. By 1997, rallying had captured the imagination of petrol-heads all over the world and Mitsubishi sold 6,000 Evolution IVs in the first three days of its launch! In quick succession, the Lancer Evolution VI came to be and in the latter-half of 1999, Mitsubishi unleashed a special edition to celebrate its favourite son’s four consecutive WRC drivers' titles from 1996-1999 - the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VI 'Tommi Makinen Edition' (TME). The Evolution VI was already a technological tour de force, but the TME had a more responsive titanium turbocharger, uprated and lowered suspension ('tuned to give improved initial response on tarmac surfaces'), quicker steering, a different exhaust, a new ECU, beefed-up transfer case internals, a redesigned front bumper for even better cooling and authentic 17-inch WRC Enkei alloy wheels. Plus, there was a special interior, featuring embossed Recaro seats, a MOMO steering wheel and red stitching. The performance upgrades saw the 0-60 mph sprint obliterated in 4.4 seconds and a maximum top speed of 150 mph. Power was rumoured to be over 300 bhp, rather than the 276 bhp 'agreement'.Widely regarded as the finest Lancer to wear the Evolution badge, it was now available in five colours, with Passion Red and Canal Blue joining Scotia White, Pyrenean Black and Satellite Silver. Only 250 TMEs (across the five colours) were officially imported into the UK, with 100 examples going to Australia, and the rest sold domestically in the Japanese Market. Official figures show that of the UK's allocation, only 50 examples were in Passion Red, the signature colour for a TME. According to Mitsubishi, it was these Passion Red cars that automatically received the renowned racing decals, known as a 'Special Colour Package' (SCP), meaning these cars were factory-fitted with black door handles (so as to not break the line of the long profile decal). In the world of Mitsubishi aficionados, the consensus is that there were just 212 official factory SCP examples of the TME produced worldwide. The car presented here then is very special indeed. Not only is it a genuine Evolution VI Tommi Makinen Edition (CP9A / SNGF2) SCP car (i.e.1 of 212), but it is also an official UK-market example. This means it was officially imported by Mitsubishi-affiliated 'Ralliart UK', hence it would have been professionally SVA'd and is supplied with UK service books, a calibrated speedometer, an unleaded-spec fuel restrictor, cold-climate battery and an alternator, plus it is individually number with a plaque in the cabin - here it reads #014, making this car one of the first few officially designated for the UK-market.Supplied new via Grosvenor Garage of Tunbridge Wells to its original owner, a Mr Roger Conway of Kent, he owned and cherished the car for almost 21 years (being the car's only previous keeper), applying his private registration number of 'ROG 4Y' to it; he also ensured all its original Ralliart paperwork, history file, with many receipts, plus its original and complete book-pack were retained, and they accompany the car today. Remarkably, this very special car has covered a fully verifiable 25,000 miles from new, supported by MOT and service records. The car did receive some choice upgrades (which receipts account for, plus their professional installation) in the care of its original owner, but we are assured these are all fully reversible should the TME aficionado wish for 100% standard specification. The car passed to our vendor after a period of being laid-up, but has, reassuringly, just had a full service (including a new cambelt), a thorough professional detail and a full MOT as part of its recommissioning. This car has the potential to brought on further by the right owner, knowing how desirable and collectable these UK examples are, making this car truly worthy of its status.Over the years, Silverstone Auctions have been privileged to achieve some exceptional prices for a number of these rare and special Japanese sports cars, considered by many as the ‘ultimate Mitsubishi’ for the road and are proud to have sold TME #001 for £146,250 in July 2021 – a World Record price. Indeed, for modern-classic collectors in America, they can as of 2023/24, legally import and enjoy these cars – what an opportunity! ‘Type UK’ TMEs are hugely coveted and rightly so and rarely do such low mileage, low owner examples such as this appear for sale on the open market, not to be missed. Please note the following additional details -The car presented is confirmed by marque experts as being chassis #14 of the UK-supplied Ralliart examples. It is in need of some recommissioning, perhaps more than we were first lead to believe, and has the potential to be an A1 example of these very sought-after models. It has just had a full service (invoice for £2,652 refers) but will require some further engine set-up work to pass an MOT and run correctly (details on aforementioned invoice). There was just insufficient time before the auction to carry this work out.  SpecificationMake: MITSUBISHIModel: LANCER EVOLUTION VI 'TOMMI MAKINEN EDITION' UK SPECYear: 2000Chassis Number: CP9A0201274Registration Number: Y194 HEUTransmission: Manual Engine Number: 4G63BD5140 Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 25000 MilesMake: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lovely, late-production TC in great colours, on the button and ready for summer.A landmark in the history of MG, the TC was the first British sports car to sell in serious numbers globally, proving a huge success in America where it paved the way for generations of Triumphs, Austin-Healeys and numerous others.  Launched in 1945, the TC may have been a mildly revamped version of the short-lived TB, but the formula of traditional sports car styling, sparkling performance and affordability made the latest MG a winner, with some 10,000 examples rolling off the production lines at Abingdon over the next five years.  Some useful modifications were made to the TB’s suspension, with new shock absorbers and conventional springs in place of the sliding trunnion set-up of the pre-war model.  The willing 1,250cc four-cylinder engine produced 54 bhp at 5,200 rpm, delivered to the rear wheels through a four-speed gearbox with synchromesh on second, third and top. With its upright radiator, separate wings and a fold-flat windscreen, the MG’s steadfastly traditional appearance bucked prevailing styling trends, lacking amenities like bumper bars or even a heater – all of which only seemed to enhance the TC’s appeal to hardy sports car drivers around the world. Somewhat of a rarity in original right-hand drive form as TCs were built primarily for the US market, this handsome, home-market, right-hand drive MG TC is classically finished in Shires Green with black leather upholstery and silver wire wheels. It was first registered on 26 August 1949 and still wears its original Gloucester registration number, JDF 108. On test, the old TC fired up absolutely on-the-button, sounded very heathy and still pulled nicely, shifting precisely through the gears and the drum brakes were remarkably effective (for a post-war MG that's not far off 75-years old). Overall the car presents rather well and still attracts admiring glances from all age groups when cruising through the Oxfordshire villages. Some further attention and detailing would really bring this example up to its very best and would make a rewarding project for someone with the right skills. The MG is accompanied by a history file including a current V5c ready for ownership transfer and original TC Drivers Manual.SpecificationMake: MGModel: TCYear: 1949Chassis Number: TC9239Registration Number: JDF 108Transmission: ManualEngine Number: XPAG9989Drive Side: Right-hand DriveMake: RHDInterior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images
