DYLAN THOMAS exceptionally rare copy of Swansea Grammar School Magazine, July 1929 crediting Dylan Thomas as sub-editor and with an early humorous poem entitled 'The Ballad of a Salad'. Thomas is recorded in the Magazine as the winner of the Quarter Mile and One Mile (under 15s) at sports-day and that he took the leading-role as Edward Stanton in John Drinkwater's 'Abraham Lincoln' for the school Dramatic Society - he can be seen in a full-page photograph of the production. To accompany this rare School Magazine there is also a copy of the production programme - with Thomas listed in the cast. Also in this parcel a volume of the History of Swansea Grammar School written by D J Thomas (Dylan's father) Condition: blue printed wrappers in fine condition Provenance: the Estate of Michael Bogdanov (1938-2017) esteemed Welsh theatre director
