1882 Presentation Beer Stein. A glazed earthenware jug in tapering form with nickel-plated mounts and hinging lid, the upper mount inscribed, 'Preston Guild - Amateur Athletic Sports - 1882 - 2nd Prize - 2 Miles Handicap Bicycle Race'. An unusual trophy, in good condition, with just two small dents on the hollow handle. 9-inches (23cm) high.
Park Ward Coachwork. A c1952 promotional booklet have six tipped-in monochrome photographs of different chassis with body styles, together with another similar but with missing photographs. Also, a 12pp brochure for the Bentley Continental, with specifications and images of various styles to include the Sports Saloon by Mulliner, in very good condition; a 1947 Bentley Mk IV Brochure; a Bentley 'S' Series colour brochure, two examples but both scuffed and a 1952 Mk IV brochure with a cream cover and silver logo attached, 24pp and five colour cards and a price list in the rear folding pocket, Good fettle, but with a light crease to the corner of the front cover, and other documents. Nazi Sports. An album of eighteen, 9 x 6½-inch monochrome photographs probably taken at a German provincial event but includes what appears to be Richard Seaman driving an MG N or K-type, (Bremgarten?) motorcyclists, swimming, fencing and social scenes. Each photograph glued to a single page and in good condition.
Jaguar Sports Racing & Works Competition Cars. Two books by Andrew Whyte, cars to 1954 and cars from 1954 in two volumes, dated 1982 & 1987, both 1st editions. In good, sound condition, with excellent monochrome photographs, some in colour, detailed text, competition listings, test reports, etc. The second volume is signed on the title page, 'Best Wishes Martin Brundle June 88'. c1935 AC Cars Ltd. A 16pp, large format catalogue with a single page at the rear discussing the success in the 1935 Monte Carlo. Describing, with specifications and with pastel sketches by Harold Connolly, the 16/60 Greyhound; 16/70 Ace DHC; 16/80 Ace Competition Sports, together with optional extras. In good condition, the centre pages pulled-away from the staples. Also, 'ACtion', a 1936 petit leaflet of 16pp, with descriptions and photographs of competition achievements in 1935 and 1936. A gentle vertical crease and a dealer stamp on both covers. (2)
A Donington Presentation Plaque inscribed 12-Hour Sports Car Race 1937, Winner – A. D. Bateman. Given by the Derby & District Motor Club, Impressed ‘silver’ verso, with its presentation box. Also, three assayed silver and enamel medals dated 1934, inscribed Bateman, each with their delivery boxes, and two RAC Rally lapel pins and a silver enamel tie pin with what appears to be the BRDC SCH Davis inspired racing car depiction centrally mounted, and other items.
