1957 MATCHLESS G3 LS 350ccReg. no. WSL 826Frame no. A57323Engine no. 56G3LS 31754The Matchless G3 LS, along with most other British 350cc bikes of the 1950s, was never going to be anyone’s idea of a fast sports bike, but they were just what people needed and wanted in the austere post war decade, they were very strong, reliable and economical to run. Teledraulic front forks and a solid well-built frame housed the rugged overhead valve engine that used the same 93mm stroke as its 500cc counterpart. The engine was coupled to a strong four speed gearbox giving it a respectable 76mph top speed and, when ridden at a relaxed pace, it would return an excellent 85mpg. This bike appears to be in good original condition and has been in a large collection for some time. It may require some recommissioning prior to use.Comes with – a current V5C.

Lot 131

1978 Moto Guzzi Le Mans SpecialReg. no. WUH 141TFrame no. VG 14234Engine no. 200891The Le Mans through all its incarnations was always its own kind of bike - both distinct and unique.  Although the 850 Le Mans was always an excellent bike on the twisty bits, it lacked that edge on the straights, hence the many companies now offering engine and handling upgrades. The owner of this bike loved sports bikes and along with all his other bikes he was never satisfied until he had upgraded them into the highest specifications possible using the very best equipment available at the time. Along with various handling and bodywork upgrades, one of the main changes made to this bike was converting the engine to 948cc Spada spec.Condition - from a deceased estate, we are told by the vendor that this bike was originally imported from South Africa in 2007 and was running very well and regularly used as the owner’s preferred mount. A huge amount of very expensive upgrade work has been carried out on this bike and it was MOT’d up until April 2019. The bike has not been used now for some time and will require recommissioning prior to use.Comes with - a history file, a current V5C and a spare fuel tank.

1992 Mercedes-Benz 300SL-24 Transmission: automaticMileage:46273Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz R129 Series SL range was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated, all-round independent suspension was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second if the car ever sensed an impending flip. Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin included a fully automated power hood and featured such advancements as memory seats, electric windows/mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. This example was registered in August 1992 and presents well in Pearl Blue metallic with a contrasting mushroom leather interior. With only four previous owners, this car has covered 46,000 miles whilst retaining a full Mercedes-Benz service history throughout. With the original Blaupunkt Canberra radio/cassette player adding to the cars originality, this 300SL-24 has the additional specification of drivers airbag, air conditioning, electrically adjustable seats and eight hole 16 alloy wheels. Supplied with its original removable hardtop and extensive history file, service booklet and book pack, we are told that this R129 SL drives extremely well. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a current MoT test certificate.      Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 128

1999 BMW 840Ci Sport Individual to Alpina Specification Transmission: automaticMileage:117261When the Klaus Kapitza designed 8 Series was launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1989, it felt like a glimpse into the future with its angular styling. The 8 Series was offered in 840 and 850 form and, when introduced in mid-1993, it was fitted with a four litre, V8 engine mated to either a five-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission. Producing a very healthy 282bhp, this version could achieve the 0-62mph sprint in an impressive 6.9 seconds; importantly with the naturally aspirated V8, acceleration was effortless and refined. From mid-1995, production phased in the newer 4.4 litre M62B44 engine, which had better fuel economy and more torque, though power output remained unchanged.Offered here is a superb looking 840ci Sport that has been fitted with various Alpina upgrades and is presented in very rare Violet Blue coachwork. Fitted with a Parrot phone system and a sports exhaust, the vendor reports that this BMW runs and drives very well indeed and sounds fantastic when on song. The coachwork and interior both present well showing little sign of age and the wheels are well with no major scuffs or blemishes. Accompanying this BMW is a history file which includes various old MoT test certificates, the original BMW service book with continuous stamps, sundry invoices and the current UK V5C registration document.BMW 8 Series are certainly becoming a more appreciated modern classic and this example with its desirable BMW ‘Individual’ interior will be quite sought after. What better way to enjoy driving than in this elegant looking pillarless coupé.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 243

2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Transmission: manualMileage:78364The Porsche 911 shape and engineering methodology has not changed much since the very first model, the 1939 Series 64. It has proved reliable and, with the finest designers available, has grown in reputation according to developing trends around it. It has proved itself in motorsport just as it has on the French Riviera. In recent years, Porsche breathed life into a new generation of 911, the 996. 2004 saw the launch of the 997 with improved styling, larger 18” wheels and an increase in power. The 997 C4S was, and still is, widely regarded as the greatest non-turbo version of the 911 with the four-wheel drive system providing the grip that ensured stable handling and predictable cornering. The Carrera offered today is presented with the best possible specification, it benefits from four-wheel drive and is an ‘S’ model with larger 19” wheels, a 3.8 litre engine and a six-speed manual gearbox. Additionally, sports suspension and a sports exhaust are included as standard. Offered with two sets of keys and recently serviced. The extensive options list includes Bose upgraded stereo, satellite navigation and telephone preparation, extended leather including wingback/hardback seats with full heated electric memory functionality, a Sports Chrono Plus package as well as a full black leather interior and Alcantara roof lining. The service history is, importantly, comprehensive with stamps from both main agents and specialists which include the important borescope checks, condensers, heat shields and RMS/IMS maintenance. The terrific performance on offer combined with reliability and build quality narrow down the choice of sports cars on offer to the Porsche 997 and this represents a superb example.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 115

2009 Secma F16 Transmission: manualMileage:5853The Secma F16 is a 1598cc rear engine micro sports car which offers exciting driving on the road or on a track. It was unveiled in 2008 at the Paris Motor Show and is powered by a 1.6 four-cylinder Renault engine that propels it to 60 mph in a mere 5.9 seconds. This little ‘pocket rocket’ is rear-wheel drive and features a five-speed manual transmission which is also sourced from Renault. With its open top (with a hood) it provides the occupants with great open motoring and with its weight distribution being 60/40, it feels more like a Porsche on the road. With its design resembling more like a beech buggy, which it couldn’t be further away from; its unique looks and lively engine make this a wonderful fun run-around.This example is presented in red with black interior and is powered by the aforementioned power plant from Renault. With only a few miles on the clock and limited use, this offers great value sports car driving at a fraction of the price of its more expensive rivals.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 165

1969 Marcos 1600GT Transmission: manualMileage:89131In 1966 the Marcos GT changed from using the expensive Volvo 1800cc unit to more affordable Ford 1500cc and 1600cc ones. The glass fibre bodied Marcos 1800 GT had been a sensation when first shown at the 1964 Racing Car Show. This was to be the design that would become familiar to sports car enthusiasts for more than 30 years, even though the original plywood chassis would later be replaced by a steel chassis and the futuristic scalloped dashboard also vanished after a few years. The plywood chassis was glued together from 386 separate pieces and was not only light and strong, but also required a minimum up front investment to construct. The extremely low Marcos required a nearly supine driving position and fixed seats, mounted lower than the floor of the car. In return, the entire pedal set could be moved fore and aft with a knob on the dashboard.Without a doubt, simply the best 1600GT we have ever seen. The supplied Marcos heritage records and correspondence in the impressive history file shows this beautiful Marcos was first supplied to Franco Paulo Pizzalon Esq. of Mountsorrel, Leicester on Monday 30th December 1968 having been ordered just a couple of months earlier on 5th November 1968. Ordered new in the same colours it still sports of Porsche Orange with black trim, the car was lovingly restored after the vendor acquired the car in 2013. Painted to a high standard, it looks as if the car has been painted much more recently. The interior was also completely retrimmed by Auto Lounge in Buckinghamshire and the car sits on a set of very rare period magnesium Minilites.First registered on 6th January 1969, the car was clearly loved and used a lot. The file shows a record of various maintenance work carried out throughout its early life. At some point between 1972 and 1975 the Ford crossflow unit was swapped for a Lotus Twin cam engine. Indeed, the original advert and the engine’s specification are included in the history file. It shows that the twin cam was built to a high specification with a ported and polished Mk. 2 head, steel main caps, competition bearings, Tufrided crank and flywheel, Powermax pistons and more. A unique period modification which makes perfect sense to the ethos of the Marcos brand. The car truly does present incredibly well and is reported to run and drive just as well. The car is supplied with its UK V5C registration document showing only 3 former keepers -the first two being Mr. Pizzalon and his son and the third, a friend of theirs. The vendor bought the car in 2013 and started the full restoration from there.  The accompanying history file includes the original sales brochure, period Motor Week article, Ford tuning guide, old MoT test certificates and many receipts. A unique example of what must be the best in class of one of the true giant slayers of British 1960’s automotive ingenuity.

Lot 261

1966 Jaguar S-Type (3.8 Litre) Transmission: automaticMileage:32279Produced from 1963 to 1968, the Jaguar S-Type was technically a more sophisticated development of the Jaguar Mk. II, offering buyers a more luxurious alternative. It was available with either 3.4 or 3.8 litre XK engines and featured longer rear bodywork among other styling and interior changes. Despite its extra weight, the S-Type's independent rear suspension allowed it to corner faster than the Mk. II, especially on uneven surfaces, providing better traction and a much smoother ride for rear seat passengers with the consensus that the S-Type offered significant improvements over the Mk. II in road holding, safety and ride comfort. It was described as 'a convenient family car, a businessman's express, a sports coupé and a grand tourer.'This well presented example is finished in burgundy coachwork over a beige leather interior and is fitted with the desirable 3.8 litre engine mated to a Borg Warner automatic gearbox. The paintwork is generally very good and retains a deep shine and the interior is very pleasant, the seats and carpets look to have been renewed in more recent times and the wood veneer dashboard is well. Offered with previous MoT test certificates, a leather Jaguar wallet with booklets, the UK V5 registration document and a Jaguar Heritage Dating Certificate.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 207

1969 Lotus Elan S4 Drophead Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:46889From a private collectionDesirable S4 Drophead Coupé modelUK Taxes paidThe Lotus Elan was designed in 1962 by the legendary Colin Chapman, whose brilliance at lightweight chassis design produced one of the best handling sports cars ever; a design which is still revered as much today. The previous model, the Lotus Elite, had a fibreglass monocoque bodywork which proved insufficiently rigid. Chapman introduced an effective steel backbone chassis to the Elan whilst still retaining the fibreglass bodywork. So successful was this chassis, that it still forms the basis of Lotus cars today. Only weighing in at 680kgs and with a cleverly designed twin cam 1498cc (and later 1558cc) engine built upon an existing Ford unit, it proved exceptionally nimble on the straights and in the corners showing Chapman's true understanding of suspension dynamics. In March 1968 the final Series 4 was introduced. Benefits included dashboard fresh air vents and improved interior trim and fittings. The fibreglass coachwork was lighter and incorporated flared wheel arches to accommodate the wider wheels; side repeater/indicators and larger Plus 2 rear lights were also added. This example has recently been imported from South Africa where it resided in a private collection. Presented in red coachwork over a black interior, this Elan is fitted with a Lotus Ford eight valve engine and twin Stromberg carburettors developing circa 112bhp. The paintwork is well although there are some age-related blemishes and the interior generally presents in good condition. Fitted with knock off wheels, the Elan comes with UK Taxes paid and the NOVA document, however it will require an MoT before it can be UK Registered. Rarely do Elan S4’s come to the open market without reserve and this example should not be missed.Interested parties should note that this vehicle runs and drives but would benefit from additional fettling before use. Unfortunately the rear bumper has also been damaged and will need to be replaced.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 262

2001 Mercedes-Benz SL320 Transmission: automaticMileage:66453Unveiled at the March 1989 Geneva Motor Show, the new Mercedes-Benz R129-series SL range was beautifully engineered. Based around a two-door monocoque bodyshell, its sophisticated, all-round independent suspension was augmented by a host of active and passive safety features including electronic stability control, ventilated ABS disc brakes, adaptive-damping shock absorbers, front airbags and an integral rollover bar that deployed in less than a third of a second if the car ever sensed an impending flip. Suitably cosseting, the convertible's impeccably built cabin included a fully automated power hood and featured such advancements as memory seats, electric windows/mirrors and an adjustable steering column. Yet lurking beneath all the luxury and refinement was a performance orientated sports car. This superb example is presented in dark blue with cream leather interior, both of which are in excellent condition. It comes with electric heated seats, air conditioning, wind deflector, blue hood and factory hardtop. This lovely SL320 comes with a good service history with a mixture of Mercedes-Benz main dealer and specialist history together with some stamps in the service book. The colour combination of this particular Mercedes-Benz is the most desirable in our opinion and in this condition, surely it must be one of the best available.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

Lot 123

2006 Bentley Continental Flying Spur Transmission: automaticMileage:25100The Bentley Continental Flying Spur (2006 - 2013) was the second Bentley manufactured since the Volkswagen Group purchased the brand in 1999, after the Continental GT. The Flying Spur is essentially a four-door version of the Continental GT, with a stretched wheelbase and greater length for more spacious rear seating. The two models were similarly priced. The 2013 Spur weighs 5,580lbs and carries the same twin-turbo, 6.0 litre W12 engine used in the Continental GT, for an output of 600 horsepower and 533 pound-feet of torque. It has a 0-60mph time of 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 200mph. The steering column-mounted paddle shifters enable direct access to the six-speed gearbox when the ZF transmission is put into ’S’ or sports mode.Originally registered in 2006, this striking Bentley presents well in two-tone, the lower half of the silver metallic paintwork has been wrapped with a matte purple wrap which works extremely well with the immaculate contrasting cream Connolly leather interior. The records for this Bentley show only three owners and a very low mileage which is borne out by the stunning condition of the vehicle. Offered to auction with a V5C registration document and a fresh MoT test certificate, this is a realistically priced opportunity to purchase the ultimate 200mph, luxury Bentley saloon.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. Buyers are advised to inspect the vehicle in person or use a professional to carry out this service. Historics will not entertain disputes over descriptions.

1934 MG PA Transmission: manualMileage:893The MG P-Type was manufactured from 1934 to 1936. This two-door sports car used an updated version of the overhead camshaft, crossflow engine used in the 1928 Morris Minor and Wolseley 10 and previously fitted in the J-Type Midget of 1932 to 1934. The chassis was a strengthened and slightly longer version of that used in the J-Type with suspension by half-elliptic springs all round as well as rigid front and rear axles. The most significant improvement, however, was that the crankshaft main bearings were increased from two to three. The top-end was a carry-over with a cross-flow cylinder head and a single overhead camshaft. Most cars were open two-seaters although some streamlined ‘Airline Coupé' bodies were also made. The P-Type was also available as a four-seater, a car that, unfortunately, suffered from a lack of power and poor rear ground clearance. Around 2,000 MG PA’s were produced and in 1935 a new PA open seat tourer cost £222.Manufactured in 1934, this MG PA presents in good order throughout, the car started immediately when requested and the engine ran very smoothly with no adverse rattles or noises. The knowledgeable vendor has fettled this car well to ensure the car is ready to be used and enjoyed by any new owner. These stylish Abingdon built sportscars always cause interest wherever they appear. It is hard to imagine this vehicle is 87 years old, what a great way to enjoy classic car motoring for a relatively modest outlay.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2008 Aston Martin DB9 Transmission: automaticMileage:50998The sleek superform aluminium body of the DB9 was initially designed by Ian Callum but had also been significantly influenced by the next director of AM design, Hendrik Fisker. It was powered by a third generation version of the now familiar 6.0 litre, V12 and has a top speed of 186mph. The DB9 was the first of what was to become a long line of production Aston Martins to use VH architecture; using superformed parts in the chassis and footwell as well as the body panels. The individual diecast, extruded or stamped aluminium elements of the VH platform are bonded with strong adhesives and self-piercing rivets to make a lightweight but stiff backbone. The DB9 bodyshell weighed 25% less than that of the DB7 but has double its torsional rigidity. This process also allowed Aston Martin to retain high levels of engineering accuracy in producing a car at a higher volume, ensuring chassis performance to match the engine power. Aston Martins have always made the interior of their cars to be very special places. The fine detail of finishing is typified by the starter button made of glass and sand etched with the Aston Martin wings logo.Originally registered on 9th September 2008, this DB9 is finished in rare Tempest Blue with Phantom Grey and Moonshadow leather interior with Piano Black dashboard. Fitted with cruise control and Bluetooth as an option. A well stamped service book accompanies this Aston Martin with the last service in November of this year with a main dealer. This DB9 is supplied with a V5C registration document and a full years MoT test certificate. This example will give any driver the buzz of Aston Martin pedigree alongside one of the most iconic sounds of any modern car with the glorious V12 engine. Attractively priced and fabulous value for money, this is the opportunity to own a superbly built British sports car without the concern of depreciation and in a car that looks equally as good today as it did in 2008.*Interested parties should note that the private plate for this vehicle will be retained and the DVLA will provide an age-related plate (we believe the original which is RX58 EXO)Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1991 Lotus Elan SE Transmission: manualMileage:58256The Lotus M100 Elan, launched in 1989, was a two-seater, convertible sports car designed by Lotus and built with the development and testing resources of General Motors. Around £35 million was invested in its development, more than any other car in Lotus history. Its design, featuring a fibreglass composite body over a rigid steel monocoque chassis, was true to Lotus founder Colin Chapman's original philosophy of achieving performance through lightweight. The name 'Elan' connected the car with its 1960s ancestor, the original Lotus Elan. Conceived as a mass-market car and in particular one that would appeal to US buyers. Consequently, Lotus put an enormous effort into testing the car; over a two-year period 19 crash cars and 42 development vehicles were built, logging nearly a million test miles in locations from Arizona to the Arctic. The Elan was driven at racing speeds for 24 hours around the track at Snetterton. Finally, each new car was test-driven for around 30 miles at Lotus's Hethel factory to check for any manufacturing defects before being shipped to dealers.Supplied new by High Park Garage in August 1991 and initially serviced by London Lotus, this example is finished in Metallic Blue with a grey leather trim in SE specification and has covered a mere 58,256 miles from new. Purchased by Miss Hill, the second owner, in March 1995, the car was serviced and maintained by SGT. SGT cared for the car until 2001 when Steve Williams Sports Cars took over and maintained it until 2012 and 26,167 miles at which point the car was no longer a daily driver and only used for weekend driving, the car was then taken off the road and garaged between 2013 and 2018. More recently recommissioned and having been continuously MoT’d since, this example is in good order and boasts a new MoT test certificate and service with Bell & Colvill, the worlds longest serving Lotus dealers. Offered with a detailed history file, original handbook and stamped service booklet, this sprightly modern classic will put a smile on the face of all who drive her.Guide Price £8,000 - £13,000 Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2013 Lotus Seven Replica By Birkin Racing Transmission: manualMileage:When the Lotus Seven was launched in 1957, designed by the legendary Colin Chapman, it was far ahead of any other sports racing cars of the era. The car was so right first time, it is still in production today, as the Caterham. It is the second most copied car on the planet. Lotus produced the classic Seven through until 1970, the Series 3 benefitting from a strengthened chassis, wider wheels and tyres, slightly wider and strengthened Ford Escort Mexico back axle, exterior fuel filler and even a fuel gauge! This well-presented Lotus Seven replica is based on a Birkin Racing Seven. It has recently been imported from South Africa where it was part of a private collection and raced regularly. Rebuilt to race specification, this Seven is fitted with a black top Toyota 4A-GE 20 valve engine, developing circa 175bhp. Other upgrades include fully rose jointed suspension, uprated wheels and tyres, a safety fuel tank (which sits in the passenger seat), fully independent rear suspension, limited slip differential, upgraded shock absorbers and fully independent rear suspension.Presented in ‘Team Lotus’ livery, this example has previously been a front runner in the Lotus Challenge Series and we are sure it will be a very competitive car for the new custodian. Offered with all UK Taxes paid and a NOVA document, this extremely fast example is sure to be huge amounts of fun for the new owner. Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2001 BMW M5 Transmission: manualMileage:160123Just like the Jaguar Mk. II had done in the 1960's, the BMW M5, newly introduced for 1998, effectively reinvented the popular notion of a sports saloon. Jaguar had just introduced an XJR with 365bhp, and Mercedes-Benz's latest E55 produced 350bhp so, after a three-year absence, BMW responded last with an automotive knock-out punch: the E39 M5. Its muscular bodywork concealed a 5.0 litre, DOHC 32 valve, V8 with variable valve timing producing roughly 400bhp and mated to a six-speed manual gearbox. Sitting on alloy wheels, daring drivers could sprint from 0-60 in just 4.7 seconds; faster than a Porsche 911, while roaring through the gears with a 7,000rpm redline and a throaty exhaust note blaring through four exhaust tips.Presented in the popular Silverstone blue with black and grey leather trim, this desirable six-speed manual E39 M5 has been with the last vendor since 2013. It benefits from a comprehensive service history, the most recent in August of this year and an MoT test valid until September 2022. With an optional front splitter this collectable E39 is offered at a very attractive estimate; naturally aspirated V8 M5’s are fabulous drivers’ cars and, with prices climbing, viewing is highly recommended.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series III Fixedhead Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:71883One consequence of the E-Type’s long process of development had been a gradual increase in weight, but a good measure of the concomitant loss of performance was restored in 1971 with the arrival of the sensational Series III V12. Weighing only 80lb more than the cast-iron-block 4.2 litre that it replaced, the new all-alloy, 5.3 litre, overhead camshaft V12 engine produced 272bhp, an output good enough for a top speed well in excess of 140mph. Further good news was that the 0-100mph time of around 16 seconds made the V12 the fastest accelerating E-Type ever. Other mechanical changes beneath the Series III’s more aggressive looking exterior included ventilated front disc brakes, anti-dive front suspension, Lucas transistorised ignition, and Adwest power-assisted steering, while automatic transmission was one of the more popular options on what was now more of a luxury Grand Tourer than out-and-out sports car. Flared wheel arches, a deeper radiator air intake complete with grille and a four-pipe exhaust system distinguished the Series III from its six-cylinder forbears, plus, of course, that all important V12 boot badge. The interior though, remained traditional Jaguar. Built in two-seat roadster and 2+2 coupé versions, both of which used the long wheelbase floor pan introduced on the Series II 2+2, the Series III E-Type continued the Jaguar tradition of offering a level of performance and luxury unrivalled at the price.Built on 27th April 1972 and shipped to British Leyland New York USA, this left hand drive V12 E-Type was returned to the UK in 2017. A matching numbers example in its original colours of white with a Cinnamon leather interior, it is also fitted with air conditioning. Now UK registered, the car has had just two UK owners and has been well maintained including new rear brakes calipers in 2019 and a stainless steel exhaust and new GAZ shock absorbers in 2020, with approximately £8,000 of expenditure on file. Mechanically the car starts and runs as it should, the automatic gearbox works well and has had a recent oil change. This is a largely original and unrestored car and it presents well although the paintwork is showing some minor signs of age. This is a well presented, useable example showing a modest 71,883 miles on the odometer and is offered with a sizeable history file including a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Dating Certificate and the UK V5 registration document.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. Accordingly, buyers are on notice that each vehicle is offered ‘as is/as seen’ subject to the Terms and Conditions for the auction. 1962 Chevrolet Corvette C1 Transmission: manualMileage:52218General Motors designer Harley Earl loved sports cars and was influenced by the GI’s bringing home MGs, Jaguars, Alfa Romeo’s and the like after hostilities ceased in Europe in 1945. Even the small independent carmaker, Nash Motors, began selling a two-seater sports car in 1951. Earl convinced GM that they also needed to build a two-seat sports car. Earl and his 'special projects' crew began working on the new car later that year which was code named 'Opel'. The result was the 1953 Corvette, which took its name from a small, manoeuvrable fighting frigate and was unveiled to the public at that years Motorama Car Show.Presented in iconic red with red inserts, this splendid C1 was fully restored in the US before our enthusiastic owner took delivery in early 2017. This is an Arizona supplied car, as seen by the original US title. The first and only owner in the UK, our vendor, has used the car for trips to the pub and local shows in his five years of ownership, with most journeys being relatively short apart from a recent trip to Cornwall during which he states the car performed excellently both their and back and was a pleasure to drive. Boasting the 327ci V8 engine, recent additions include a new fuel tank and electronic ignition, new water pump, all gearbox and shaft seals replaced on the four-speed manual gearbox and we are informed there are no drips, the Rochester carburettor has been rebuilt and fitted which has made for a great responsive drive.Having always been garaged in an air-conditioned garage, as part of our vendors modest collection, the car never sees the rain and at the time of consignment all gauges were in working order apart from the clock, but one could say time stands still when enjoying a C1 on the road with the top down. This is a very well priced and iconic C1 in what we believe is the best colour combination.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1959 Jaguar XK150 Roadster (3.4 litre) Transmission: manualMileage:171Spring of 1957 would turn out to be the final glorious incarnation of Jaguar’s fabulous ‘XK’ series of sports cars. The XK150, lightly re styled with its newly fitted Dunlop disc brakes and other minor upgrades. First available only in fixed head and drophead coupé forms, the newcomer retained the same basic chassis, 3.4-litre engine and four-speed Moss transmission of its predecessors but was improved with a restyled, roomier body with a higher front wing line, single-piece wrap-around windscreen, and broader radiator grille. A wider body would also facilitate a single-piece wrap-around windscreen replacing the divided screen. This very well presented example is one of the best we have seen and was delivered new to Jaguar Cars New York in May 1958. More recently been repatriated to the UK where a comprehensive restoration was undertaken. The matching numbers engine was rebuilt and the brightwork has been re-chromed along with a new set of wire wheels. The interior too has been retrimmed to a very high standard in blue, and the body was treated to a bare metal respray in a fabulous shade of ivory. In superb order this XK150 is ready for a new custodian and is offered with many invoices detailing the restoration, which totalled over £50,000, the UK registration document, and the Jaguar Heritage Certificate. This superb example is one of the best we have seen and is ready to be used and enjoyed by a new custodian.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1973 Triumph GT6 Mk. III Transmission: manualMileage:92641he GT6 was launched in 1966 as a fastback version of the popular Spitfire model. Powered by a 2.0 litre engine from the Triumph 2000 the model enjoyed a production run until 1973. This new model, like the Spitfire, inherited what was essentially the Triumph Herald’s chassis and running gear which had already proved capable of handling six-cylinder power when developed for the Vitesse saloon. With brisk performance and stylish looks the GT6 deserved its nickname of the ‘mini E-Type’ and today it is one of the most sought after post-war Triumph sports cars with only 13,042 Mk. III examples manufactured. This example was registered new on 8th February 1973 and is in fine order throughout. Offered in red over a black interior, the general condition is good, the paintwork presents well showing few blemishes and the interior, which includes new seats and a Moto Lita steering wheel, is also in good order. Offered with a sizeable history file detailing various bills and invoices for maintenance work, many previous MoT test certificates, sundry invoices and the current V5C registration document. Offered without reserve this well documented example could prove to be a fine investment for the new custodian.Interested parties should note that on start up the starter motor is occasionally sticking and may need further attention. 2001 Mercedes-Benz Smart Fortwo Brabus Cup Transmission: paddleMileage:191795It could be argued that the most famous Formula One racing car designer is Gordon Murray. He certainly was instrumental in assisting Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet and Alain Prost to Formula One glory and was the brains behind the McLaren F1 road car. His early years were spent designing Brabham F1 cars under Bernie Eccleston, many of which became World Championship and Constructors Grand Prix winners.Supplied with the original Brabus order form invoicing McLaren with Gordon Murray as the first customer in 2001, there are numerous additional extras. These include ‘Murray of Athol Ancient tartan’ driver’s seat and door cards, Brabus ‘Wide-Star’ wheels and arches, sports exhaust and F1 paddle-shift gear change. Most striking of all, of course, is the Lamborghini green paintwork costing over £5,000. With a full page of extras, the total cost exceeds £24,000 and includes a Gordon Murray signed tacho. This is all backed up with a comprehensive history folder including owner’s pack, a fresh service and a full MoT test certificate.Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 1965 David Brown 770 Selectamatic Transmission: manualMileage:Probably better known for his ownership of Aston Martin from 1947 to 1972, David Brown become M.D. of the family business, David Brown Gear Company Ltd in 1931. He turned to tractor manufacturing in 1936 in collaboration with Harry Ferguson, manufacturing the Ferguson-Brown tractor in West Yorkshire. The company broke new ground which others were only to follow later, but being a pioneering company ultimately led to its downfall. The Ferguson-Brown had many innovative features, including the use of cast alloy for many components which was light but prone to damage. David Brown Ltd became one of the largest manufacturers of tractors, however the owner’s continued subsidisation of Aston Martin was unsustainable, and the sports car maker was sold in 1972. The tractor division was purchased by Tenneco International and re-badged the product as ‘Case’.Manufactured in 1965, this 770 Selectamatic tractor is thought to have spent its early life working on farms in the North of England. It was restored to a good standard throughout 2013 and 2014 by its then owner who had owned this David Brown for circa 28 years at that stage. It was then sold to the current vendor in 2015 who has used it sparingly throughout his ownership. Being a tractor enthusiast and owning several David Browns he has always ensured this 770 has continued to be well cared for; it has a new battery and started on the button during our visit. The tractor’s hydraulics and power take off are in good working order, meaning that the tractor can be used as intended. Now registered with the DVLA and bearing the index number FNA 850C, this three-cylinder 35 horsepower tractor has a 12-speed gearbox. Supplied with a V5C registration document, this example is ready to be used and is one not to be missed.Guide £6,000-£8,500Interested parties should satisfy themselves as to the description and condition of each lot prior to the sale. 2004 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG Transmission: automaticMileage:82097The fifth generation of the legendary SL series of two-door convertible sports cars was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof, a first for the SL class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997. The flagship models were built by AMG in the form of the SL55 and SL65, both highly tuned versions of the SL500 and SL600 respectively. The SL55 was powered by a mighty supercharged version of the 5.5 litre, V8 which produced 493bhp and achieved 0-62 in 4.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 155mph (governed). In theory, the SL55 could reach 190mph if the car was derestricted but, for many, the acceleration and top speed is impressive enough in its standard form!Originally registered on 2nd March 2004 this SL55 AMG presents in excellent condition. With only one previous keeper and a service history that includes eight stamps in the service book and a collection of invoices. The last major service was carried out on 25th September 2020 at a cost of £3,861.33. This included a new central locking pump, a change of brake fluid and air conditioning re-gas, the mileage at that time was 81,541.
