Artwork by the Swedish artist Gunnar Widholm (1882-1953). A predecessor to the Winter Olympic Games, the Nordic Games were organised by the Swedish officer, General Viktor Gustaf Balck (1844-1928; "the father of Swedish sport"), in 1901 and were held again in 1903 and 1905, then every four years until 1926. 1967 Franz Beckenbauer European Cup Final Bayern Munich Match Worn Football Shirt - this is Franz Beckenbauer's Cup Final shirt from the 1967 European Cup Winners Cup Final, which was swapped with Sandy Jardine of Rangers after the match. This final was Beckenbauer's and Bayern Munich's first major European Final. The white shirt comes with a Certificate of Authenticity on Rangers letter head. The shirt is framed and measures 65x76cm approx. An elegant, composed defender, Sandy Jardine played 671 official games with Rangers and at 18 years of age represented Rangers in the 1967 Final. It is noted that Jardine was well praised by his opposite number, Franz Beckenbauer of Bayern Munich, after the losing European Cup-winners' Cup Final of 1967. He was in the Scotland squad for the World Championship finals of 1974 and 1978 in Germany and Argentina respectively, and was one of the few players to be twice voted Player of the Year by the Sports Writers.
