THE FIELD Volume of The Field magazine from October 26th 1912 to December 28th 1912. Very large format, contains all the weekly issues of the magazine between those dates bound in maroon cloth with gilt inscription "The Field 1912" on the spine. The Field was a weekly magazine and describes itself as "The Country Gentleman's Newspaper". The magazine covered many sports including golf, athletics, ski-ing, coursing, football, tennis, hockey, rowing and others. Each issue , printed on glossy paper has 50 pages. Includes article on the origins of football and another covering football on ice. Also includes rugby, cricket and horse racing. Measures 11" x 17", over 500 pages plus many supplements which were included with the magazine. Bottom edge of cloth binding has faded a little and very minor spine damage , otherwise good. Generally good
CIGARETTE CARD NEWS Nine cloth bound volumes containing each issue of the Cigarette Card News published between number 1 (October 1933) and number 325 (Jan/Feb 1970). An absolute mine of information for cigarette card collectors covering every aspect of the hobby and containing considerable amounts of information which has probably been forgotten over the years. Thirty complete volumes, the first 30 volumes of the magazine, originally a monthly piublication and then published every two months. Each of the nine bound volumes averages over 500 pages of information and all are in very good condition. Covers the different sets issued from when the hobby was at its peak in the 1930s through to trade and bubble gum cards in the 60s such as A&BC. Many of course were sports sets but all categories are covered and they would be a welcome addition to any serious collector. Good
1966 WORLD CUP ENGLAND AUTOGRAPHS A 10" X 8" high quality boxed photo album issued for the Sun Cruises Official 1966 World Cup Winners Reunion Cruise with 9 signed 8" X 6" signed colour photographs of the Final players in their suits and bow ties. Missing are Bobby Moore and Bobby Charlton. Included is a postcard size signed photocard Bobby Charlton Scrapbook Sky Sports and an unsigned black & white Bobby Moore photo also in jacket and tie. Good
BEDFORD TOWN Folder containing a complete record of Bedford Town from 1945-46 to 1959-60, 113 pages individually typed which shows scores and scorers of every match played by the Eagles including minor Cups etc, sold with programmes from the 55/6 Cup run at Arsenal 7/1/56 and 56/7 at Reading 8/12/56 plus newspaper sports Final (Eastern Football News) with report and pictures of Bedford defeating Norwich 4-2 at Norwich in the Cup (17/11/56- a few tears to edges). Also included is a book , "The Eyrie Roar" Memories of Bedford Town 1919-1966. (softback, 66 pages). Generally good

BILLY PROBERT / PORTSMOUTH 1920 Two black & white postcards and a 8" X 6" black & white press photograph of Probert shaking hands with his opposing captain at the start of a match, issued by Sports General. The photo is folded, slightly marked and has small paper loss and minor tears. One postcard has 4 players in civilian clothes with Probert being Freddie Cook, Joe Armstrong and Harry Abbott and the other postcard shows Probert in action training at Fratton Park. Both postcards are slightly creased and are slightly worn. Fair
REPRESENTATIVE MATCH 1941 Very scarce programme, Alton v Army XI, 10/12/41 at Courage Sports Ground, Alton. Charity match in aid of Red Cross Aid to Russia Fund. Four page issue with Army XI including players from Aldershot, Blackburn, Exeter, Halifax, Bury, Brentford, Cardiff, Shef Utd (Hagan) and Everton (Tommy Lawton). Quite a strong team for Alton to face although they were assisted by Denis Compton (Arsenal and Taylor of Bolton. Jimmy Dickinson also played for Alton although at the time he was described as a Youth Club player being 16 at the time and playing here for his birthplace team. Four page issue, folds. Generally good

A 1952 Great Britain Olympic Blazer badge with Olympic Rings, a silk badge worn by officials, , Singapore Olympic Sports Council Pennant and two Nigerian pennants for the Games, one from the National Sports Council and one with gold braid probably used as a presentation item..
