1967 Honda CB77, 305cc. Registration number RWF 343E. Frame number CB77 104204. Engine number CB77E 107557. Sold with the V5C, workshop manual and key. With specifications that would have been the exclusive preserve of exotic racing machinery only a few years earlier, the sports roadsters that began to be introduced by Japanese manufacturers in the early 1960s seemed tailor-made for production racing. One of the first to make its mark in this increasingly popular and important branch of motorcycle sport was the Honda CB72, an overhead-camshaft ‘250’. Introduced in 1960, the twin-cylinder CB72 produced 24bhp at 9,000rpm and weighed just 337lbs, an excellent power-to-weight ratio the endowed the supremely well-specified ‘CB’ with a level of performance challenging that of many British 500s. More powerful yet scarcely any heavier, its close relative - the 305cc CB77 - was the first Honda to make an impact in the middleweight class. Essentially an over-bored CB72, the CB77 arrived in Britain in 1963 and like its quarter-litre predecessor was soon making its presence felt on the racetracks. RWF is a recent import from the USA, our deceased vendor being the first UK owner. He recommissioned it before his untimely passing but it will need further light recommissioning before road use. Sold with the V5C, workshop manual and key.this bike comes from a deceased estate and has not been started for at least 6 months, I have not heard it running and not tried to start it. The vendor had 6 bikes that we are selling on behalf of his widow, they were all runners before he passed away

Lot 532

1923 Scott Squirrel 3 1/2hp, 486cc. Registration number TA 8106. Frame number 3355. Engine number 6702. Sold with the V5C, V5, copy of Lord Montagu document, old MOT's and a receipt for the magneto being rebuilt. Formed by Alfred Scott of Bradford in 1908, the distinctive two stroke incorporated water cooling, all-chain drive, telescopic forks, low slung weight and a lightweight duplex frame giving superb road holding. In 1910 a Scott was the first two-stroke motorcycle to complete a full TT course under race conditions won the event in 1912 and 1913. In 1921 the company began producing its first proper sports model, the Squirrel using a 486cc engine with aluminium alloy pistons, footrests and lighter mudguards replacing the footboards and heavy mudguards of the earlier standard models. Expanding internal hub brakes were introduced to the front wheel of all models in 1922 and to rear wheels a year later. Also in 1923, a separate oil tank was fitted to the front down-tube to supply oil to the engine by separate drippers with sight feeds. TA is recorded as being owned by Lord Montagu of Beaulieu who sold it to Douglas Dungford of Southampton in 1977, our vendor bought it from him in 1984. During his long ownership it has been very well maintained along with the others in his stable. There is a receipt for a magneto rebuild on file as well as multiple MOTs from 1989, 1996- 2011. The magneto will need to be refitted before use. Sold with the V5C, V5, copy of Lord Montagu document, old MOT's and a receipt for the magneto being rebuilt.

Lot 507

c. 1960-62 Honda C110D Sports Cub, 49cc, project. Registration number 508 FUB (not recorded with DVLA). Frame number C110D 27994. Engine number C110E 61898. This project comes with no paperwork The C110 Sports Cub was launched in October 1960, it was more like a traditional motorcycle that the rider had to straddle, not a step-through. It had a different frame, with the fuel tank on top of the frame and in front of the seat, and the frame's steel tube spine ran horizontally from the head tube to the seat. It also had a bit more power, increased 4.5 to 5 bhp @ 9,500 rpm. Sub-variants of the Sports Cub were the C111, without a pillion seat, and C110D, also called C114, which had a low exhaust pipe. This project comes with no paperwork
