Strikingly presented in Giallo Midas, this manual gearbox car has covered just 32,000 miles and will arrive at auction freshly serviced with a brand new MOT. Continuing its tradition of naming new models after fighting bulls, Lamborghini introduced the Gallardo coupé in 2003, positioning this new V10-engined supercar below its then flagship V12-powered Murciélago. It would turn out to be an outstanding success for the Italian manufacturer, selling in excess of 14,000 units over the succeeding decade. Prior to the Gallardo's introduction, there had only been one V10-powered passenger car - the Dodge (later Chrysler) Viper - the engine of which Lamborghini (then part of Chrysler Corporation) had assisted in developing. Displacing five litres, the Gallardo's quad-cam V10 had four valves per cylinder and developed its maximum power of 493bhp at 7,500rpm. There were two transmissions on offer: a conventional 6-speed manual and an 'E-gear' 6-speed automated paddle-shift manual.Hailed by its maker as 'a super-sports car for day-to-day driving-, the Gallardo was based on a styling proposal by Giorgetto Giugiaro's Italdesign with final refinements by Lamborghini's in-house team of designers, headed by Luc Donckerwolke. According to Lamborghini 'the vehicle's wheelbase and reduced overhangs give it a more dynamic look... (while) the dimensions of the Gallardo and its performance goals lend it a compact sense of athleticism. All this has been modelled in a single volume, respecting typical and unique proportions, the distinctive sign of a stylistic tradition'. There was no denying that the Gallardo was a radical design in the best Lamborghini tradition and worthy to stand alongside legendary models from the company's past such as the Miura and Countach.LF53 JNN was registered on 30th January 2004 and has been with its current custodian for nine years, the last five or so stored in a heated showrooms with very limited usage. Finished in striking Giallo Midas with a complimenting black leather interior, this iconic supercar is the rarer and infinitely more desirable manual gearbox example and has covered just over 32,000 miles from new. The Gallardo comes with a stamped service book, the most recent being some six/seven years ago at Lamborghini Manchester (most of this time it remained in the showroom) however, it's currently undergoing a full service and check through with a Lamborghini Specialist in Sheffield along with a fresh MOT, ensuring this epic car is once again fit for the road and able to give pleasure to its new owner.N.B. The 2002 Motor Show Car, first registered to TVR Ltd and then Chairman Peter Wheeler. A remarkable modern classic from the end of British sports car history. One of the rarest TVRs ever produced and perhaps the last modern sports car to be launched in such a uniquely British way. Understood to be the first of two 2002 Motor Show cars commissioned by TVR chairman Peter Wheeler and featured in that year’s Top Gear British Motor Show Special presented by Suzie Perry. The factory build-sheet confirms that the car was built for the Motor Show and Peter Wheeler’s name is written on the underside of the interior trim, found when the car was later re-trimmed by our vendor. Named for its 3.5-litre petrol engine, the 350 C was produced in limited numbers when compared to more mainstream production sportscars, yet kept the Blackpool workshops pretty busy with 390 examples built. This car is even more special as it was factory-fitted with a speed-six 4-litre engine and was the car used as a Press Car, still badged as a 350C. Owned by TVR Engineering for the first three years, the car was subsequently purchased by a dealer and our vendor is the third private keeper. The excellent service history is complemented by a documented engine rebuild at 56,000 miles and the car has been subtly upgraded with ceramic coated manifolds, Sagaris brakes, Bilstein 'S' shock absorbers from the Tuscan and T350 Eibach springs all round.A unique car that differs in features and power from later production cars, this car’s provenance is fascinating and it's presented to auction with a cherished registration number, a huge history file and its Swansea V5C. This rare TVR had covered 82,000 miles at the time of cataloguing and the MOT is valid until August 2024.Specification Make: TVR Model: 350C Year: 2003 Chassis Number: SDLFB17A52B001596 Registration Number: T3 VOC Transmission: Manual Engine Number: P6403016 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 82000 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Dark Blue LeatherClick here for more details and images

Right-hand drive JDM Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R, sympathetically modified but remaining largely unmolested. Following up on its widely celebrated R32 predecessor, the arrival of Nissan’s R33-generation Skyline GT-R in 1995 played a big part in the model’s eventual long-term success. Just prior to its release, several major Japanese auto manufacturers signed a panic-induced 'gentlemen’s agreement' with the government, limiting new model performance rating figures to 276bhp. There had, perhaps, never been a more inauspicious moment to release a sports car in Japan. Nissan, for its part, printed official marketing materials for the R33 which did not mention that the engine delivered approximately 300bhp straight from the showroom floor. The R33 nevertheless debuted at an optimal moment in popular culture. Video games such as Gran Turismo popularized the Skyline and other Japanese performance cars of the era even in the US and other envious markets where the GT-R was not be sold. It perpetuated the Skyline GT-R’s nickname, 'Godzilla, the monster from Japan', earned by the R32 after stellar performances in early 1990s Australian motorsport, as car enthusiasts embraced Nissan as a force to be reckoned with. Indeed, the R33 would make appearances in the first few Fast & Furious films of the 2000s, and its R34 successor was notably driven by the late Paul Walker, further publicizing the Skyline GT-R name.Finished in Motorsport White with a grey interior, this superb R33 GT-R has been sympathetically modified but remains largely unmolested throughout with an impressive cockpit area enhanced by a carbon fibre pack and a well detailed engine bay should the show arena beckon. Mechanically, it still wears the original turbos on factory settings running through equal-length downpipes supplied by RHD Japan, fitted in 2020 with unspent gases exiting through a Blitz Nur Spec exhaust system. Recently serviced, the Skyline is running and performing well and it is clear to see that it has been maintained as required over the years by its fastidious custodians including general services and cam belt changes being adhered to as and when required.Other works carried out over the years are detailed in the comprehensive history file that accompanies the car. Currently running on a set of Enkei RFPi alloy wheels fitted with Yokohama Advance AD08 tyres, the Nissan presents extremely well and with the JDM market moving on at a pace, your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the quality of this increasingly desirable Skyline.Specification Make: NISSAN Model: SKYLINE R33 GT-R Year: 1995 Chassis Number: BCWR33005746 Registration Number: J222 DST Transmission: Manual Engine Number: RB26 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 106600 KM Make: RHD Interior Colour: GreyClick here for more details and images

Lot 242

Exactly what you hope to find – from 35 years long-term ownership, just one former keeper, impressively original, only 50,000 miles and in desirable Moonstone Blue. The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold - somewhat worrying when the company's initial approach to the dealer network came back with an estimate that suggested they could sell around 1,500 units! The eventual sales record is, of course, history, Ford going on to sell 5,545 three-door cars (including the RS500, of which only 500 were built).Launched for sale in July 1986, and based on the three-door Sierra bodyshell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! The car presented here is a 1986 Ford Sierra RS Cosworth in arguably the model’s best and most desirable colour. With just 32,000 miles indicated back in 1989, it was purchased by two close friends who used it only on dry days and very infrequently, adding a further 18,000 miles before it was placed into warm, dry storage in 1993. The friends have recently uncovered their beloved Cosworth from that closeted environment and rolled it out into the daylight. 'Wow, it was amazing, just like we parked her up yesterday; even that famous Cossie smell was still present!'. Thinking it wise to recommission the car, to bring it back to life properly, it was sent to a master mechanic and Cosworth expert where all mechanical components were removed, stripped, examined and rebuilt where necessary, including the engine, using genuine OEM parts as required. The fuel tank and rear exhaust section were replaced with Graham Goode parts, whilst the radiator is a Radtec of Cannock upgraded part. The wheels have been professionally refurbished and a set of new/old stock Dunlop D40 tyres fitted. The friends describe the paintwork as exceptional, and understand it to be wholly original. This special Ford is accompanied by numerous old MOT Certificates and paperwork, helping to corroborate the very conservative 50,000 miles indicted, plus its original / stamped Ford service booklet. With Fords of this era, ‘originality' is the key word, frequently misused but in the case of this car, totally appropriate, and any inspection is welcomed. The Cosworth has always been a car to draw attention. Its radical 'whale tail' ensured that it was always meant to be a poster boy of the time, but with their values now reaching such amazing levels – Iconic Auctioneers (formally Silverstone Auctions) sold a Moonstone example with 8,795 miles in November 2022 for £132,750 – where do we see this car, estimated at well under half as much as our record-holder? You will not be disappointed.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA RS COSWORTH Year: 1986 Chassis Number: WF0EXXGBBEGB51491 Registration Number: A12 GOE Transmission: Manual Engine Number: GB51491 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 50200 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Porsche 911 (997.1) 3.8-litre Carrera S with the desirable manual 6-speed gearbox, offered from 12 years of ownership and looking good in Black Metallic. The 997 marked another new chapter for Porsche, although to look at, the new generation seemed to hark back to former glories, particularly in profile and the design of its oval headlights. The 997 was initially available from July 2004 in two guises, Carrera and Carrera S, both rear-wheel drive only with identical bodywork. The base Carrera stuck with the well established 3.6-litre power unit producing 325bhp, however the Carrera S had useful extra power – some 355bhp – thanks to a larger displacement engine (3.8-litres). Other general 997 enhancements included better suspension, reduced drag-coefficient, a more appealing interior and extra room for passengers. Introduced in 2005, the Carrera 4S was broadly similar but was a tad wider (44mm) to accommodate the four-wheel drive system and wider wheels. The car presented here is a 2005 Porsche 911 (997.1) 3.8-litre Carrera S specified with the drivers' choice of the manual 6-speed (G97/01) gearbox (which was reinforced by Porsche for the 'S' model) and is finished in Basalt Black Metallic with a black hood and interior. It's offered from long term ownership, some 12 years, with just one previous recorded keeper and  presents superbly, benefitting from a recent comprehensive check over and detail to ensure that it is offered looking at its very best.It was specified from new with numerous additions to standard such as electronic damper control and stability management, sports seats finished in hide, a multi-function steering wheel, top-tint screen and DVD navigation amongst others, all accompanied by a comprehensive service history.Offered at a very sensible and affordable guide giving the opportunity for Porsche ownership at an approachable level. Lot 248

On offer from a significant private Collection, this low-mileage, original car has been the proud resident of some serious Collections of notable Fords.   The original Ford Sierra RS Cosworth was the first Ford to wear the Cosworth badge and was presented to the public at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1985. It was introduced as a means of homologating the Sierra for 'Group A' Touring Car racing, with a requirement that 5,000 cars were built and sold. Launched for sale in July 1986 and based on the three-door Sierra bodyshell, it was designed by Ford's Special Vehicle Engineering (SVE) and was powered by a Cosworth-designed 2-litre turbo engine of now legendary repute. At this time, the Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a 'blue-collar hero' able to humble true sports cars! In total 5,545 cars were produced - of which 500 were sent to Aston Martin Tickford for conversion to the Sierra RS500 Cosworth. If the RS Cosworth was an homologation car, the RS500 was an evolution special. Once Ford had built the requisite 5,000 RS Cosworths, 'Group A' rules allowed an upgraded evolution model to be launched. This could carry changes focused on improving its racing potential, provided Ford sold 10% of the original number as road cars, hence the 500. The RS500 was announced in July 1987 and had a mechanically uprated Cosworth engine (more similar to the one to be used in competition), with power boosted to 224bhp, upgraded brakes, modified bodywork and the cachet of being hand-assembled - the RS500 really is the ultimate 1980's Fast Ford! Indeed, during the model's 30th anniversary year in 2017, the RS500 was named the 'Ultimate Cosworth' by one of the UK's biggest one-make car shows. On offer here is a very special, UK-supplied, right-hand drive example presenting in wonderfully original condition and was showing just 13,985 on the odometer at the time of cataloguing. Finished in black with a grey cloth interior, the V5C details four former keepers and the car was formerly a resident of the renowned Bonkers Collection of low-mileage performance Fords. The Sierra is accompanied by its original owner’s manuals, maintenance invoices, stamped service booklet, an original sales brochure, a selection of magazines, an original first aid kit and an additional set of four genuine alloy wheels fitted with period correct Dunlop D40 tyres (for concours display only). Pleasingly, the seller is including the appropriate number plate, E500 YBD, in the sale.Cotswold Prestige carried out a lot of the maintenance work in recent years and we encourage and welcome all interested parties to go through the history file at our Documents Desk at the auction and see how much has been invested in this fabulous RS500 to keep it in the condition it's in today. On offer from a significant private Collection, this low-mileage, original car has been the proud resident of some serious Collections of notable Fords. Trying to find classics like E500 YBD is getting much harder, let alone examples as rare and as sought after as an RS500. Stylish 1950s top-down motoring offering more power, comfort and value compared to its European contemporaries. A nicely mellowed, older restoration from eight years of UK-ownership. Long before the Cadillac became known as the softly sprung, luxuriously appointed land yacht we recognise from the 1960s and 1970s, it had fought a fierce battle to be considered a serious sports car among its American contemporaries during the late 1940s. The few pre-war designed European sportscars that found their way Stateside barely tempted the domestic market who adored the swooping, if rather rotund, flanks, the acres of chrome, refinements like electric windows and all powered by a gruffling V8. They made European sports cars seem somewhat flimsy and it must have been therefore a bewildering sight to see Briggs Cunningham at the wheel of a new, outwardly standard 1950 Cadillac Coupe alongside the Ferraris, Aston Martins and Jaguars on the grid of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Finishing tenth overall, the Cadillac averaged 81.5mph for the entire 24-hour event with top speeds of around 120mph achieved on the Mulsanne Straight.Domestically, 1950 was a significant year for Cadillac too, as they finally surpassed Packard in sales and would go on to dominate the American luxury market for several generations. Along with styling, elegance, and luxury, the performance aspect of Cadillac was taken to new heights with the launch of the 62 Series and these models are regarded as the most typical examples of 1950s styling with swooping lines and acres of chrome. Naturally, a luxuriously appointed convertible was the car of choice for the successful and remains the indelible image of the era’s 'American Dream'.Built in 1952, this fabulous Cadillac was restored before arriving in the UK and subsequently registered here on 1st September 2013 to the first of just two keepers. The 1952 cars were powered by an all-new 331ci (5.4-litres) OHV V8 featuring wedge-shaped combustion chambers, 'slipper' pistons and hydraulic valve lifters, and now offered a respectable 160bhp. Well presented in ivory with a glorious bright red interior, it has been well maintained by our vendor since his purchase in 2016 as the invoices on file testify. Offered from the eclectic collection of our well-regarded vendor, an auction regular of many years standing who is downsizing due to advancing years, it's accompanied by the aforementioned maintenance receipts and Swansea V5C.This third-generation Series 62 Cadillac is a piece of classic Americana and we think that it's a seriously tempting proposition given the realistic guide price and sheer scale of this impressive American icon.Specification Make: CADILLAC Model: CONVERTIBLE Year: 1952 Chassis Number: 526282784 Registration Number: 849 YUX Transmission: Automatic Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: Only LHD Interior Colour: Red Click here for more details and images

Lot 225

An outstanding Porsche GT3 (Gen 2) with Clubsport enhancements offering the perfect combination for performance motoring. Intended primarily for competition although still fully road-legal, the Porsche 911 GT3 can trace its ancestry all the way back through a succession of high-performance models to the legendary 911 Carrera RS of 1973. The car takes its name from the FIA's GT3 category of production sports car racing and has been produced in a variety of versions since its introduction in 1999 when the GT3 badges were applied to the Type 996 iteration of the perennial 911. The 3.6-litre flat-six engine, though, departed from mainstream Type 996 practice by virtue of its water-cooled cylinders, leaving only the heads cooled by air. Called the 'Metzger' engine after its designer, Hans Metzger, this unit was closely related to that of the Porsche 962 'Sports Prototypes' and the 911 GT1 racer. In the GT3 it produced 355bhp, 59 more than in the standard 996, which was delivered to the wheels through a strengthened gearbox boasting interchangeable ratios. To make the GT3 fit for circuit use, the brakes, suspension and wheels were uprated to cope with the substantial increase in performance, whilst aerodynamic downforce was enhanced by a larger front air dam and a distinctive rear spoiler. Weight reduction extended to the removal of the rear seats and most of the sound deadening, rear speakers, sunroof, and air conditioning, though the latter could be ordered as an option, as could a CD/radio. In 2003, the 996 was facelifted (996.2) with Turbo-style headlamps, redesigned front and rear bumpers and some other external changes and, naturally, these revisions carried through to the GT3.Sourced through the Porsche Centre London, this particular UK-supplied (C16) 996.2 GT3, finished in Polar Silver with the must-have Aero Kit, is fitted with the 6-speed manual gearbox and was originally built to the 'Comfort' specification. It has now been enhanced by a number of ‘Clubsport’ upgrades providing an intriguing and rather desirable package for its next custodian. The black hide interior features leather sun visors, a suede headlining and lightweight Porsche sports seats with crests complimented by red Schroth racing harnesses, all surrounded by the Tequipment 996 roll cage fitted by JZM Porsche in 2015. They also upgraded the suspension in 2016, fitting a three-way KW Clubsport Suspension Kit providing a more dynamic ride and overall feel for the Porsche driver who wants to enjoy the GT3 experience to the max.In superb condition throughout, the car has formed part of a small eclectic Collection in recent years and has been maintained as required by its fastidious owner. It’s accompanied by a comprehensive stamped service history detailing previous works as completed by Porsche main dealers and specialists, various invoices and older MOT Certificates. Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the impressive package on offer.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 996.2 GT3 Year: 2004 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ99Z4S691157 Registration Number: LJ04 EDX Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 63425004 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 58025 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black HideClick here for more details and images

Lot 213

Extremely well specified, finished in its original paintwork of Techno Violet over the amazingly rare factory-optioned Anthracite Alcantara M-Cross + Amaretta Vader interior, just 60,000 miles with its two owners and a full BMW service history from new.  At the Paris Motor Show in 1992, BMW introduced the successor to the widely adored E30 M3 with the E36 M3. The second incarnation of the model was a different animal to the original 1980's E30, replacing the four-cylinder with a straight-six, sleeker styling, modernised and a more refined demeanour. At the time, the Motorsport Division's new take on the iconic M3 was to utilise the standard M50TU engine (used in other E36s and earlier E34s), however there were numerous upgrades over the standard M50 including individual throttle bodies, continuously variable 'Vanos' valve timing, dual-mass flywheel, lightweight pistons, graphite-coated connecting rods, larger inlet valves and redesigned equal-length exhaust manifolds.Things continued to improve with the expansion of the range in 1994 with the arrival of the second generation E36 M3 Evolution cars powered by the new S52B32, a 3.2-litre straight-six with the compression ratio raised to 11.3:1, significantly upping the power output from 282bhp to 321bhp at 7,400rpm, mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox or a sequential DSG transmission. Other changes included a new Cornering Brake Control system and staggered 17" wheels, with meatier 225/45 ZR17 fronts and 245/40 ZR17 rear tyres. The E36 M3 Evolution was and still is regarded as one of the best sports cars of the 1990s and was awarded Best-Handling Car by Car and Driver magazine in 1997. BMW’s E36 M3 Evolution was destined to become a classic from the start but, although unfairly overlooked in recent years, its time will come. This stunning 1998 E36 M3 Evolution is arguably the best specified example we have ever seen, making it quite possibly the ultimate E36 M3 Evolution. A late car, first registered in October 1998, it's finished in the rare Techno Violet paintwork with the very, very rare Anthracite Alcantara M-Cross + Amaretta interior optioned from new and is fitted with a strong selection of optional extras.Becoming increasingly popular and difficult to source in excellent condition, this E36 M3 Evolution offers a rare opportunity to own an example that has covered a warranted 60,200 miles in the hands of its two owners from new. Having formed part of a private Collection of modern classics, the car has a history file that is as exemplary as its aesthetics. With 12 main dealer services and three additional BMW specialist services, it is safe to say that the car has been cossetted all its life and needs nothing. Our vendor is a true perfectionist and had the car inspected and detailed by a trusted detailer who has confirmed that (with the exception of the front bumper) the paintwork is all original, increasingly hard to find. There are a few minor stone chips present on the bonnet, but nothing more than what is to be expected. With so many of these E36 M3s being turned into track cars, race cars or simply not maintained, it is heartening to see such a wonderfully specified, original example in such outstanding condition. Criminally underrated, with values steadily on the rise, these E36 M3s truly warrant their time in the sun.Specification Make: BMW Model: E36 M3 EVOLUTION Year: 1998 Chassis Number: WBSBG92000EA90755 Registration Number: 44 MXW Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 60031851 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 60200 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Grey AlcantaraClick here for more details and images

**Please note for clarity the original plenum and induction kit will be available after the sale, free of charge, to be collected from the vendor. The tracker is fitted but has never been turned on.The car comes with a custom made car cover.** Uncovered from its factory 'matte' wrap, the gleaming black paintwork has been brought up to a phenomenally high standard. In OEM+ condition with sympathetic Mountune upgrades and just under 7,700 miles from new. Offered directly from 'The Well Timed' Collection.Offered here is a very special RS500, #128/500, first registered in the UK on the 17th September 2010 as one of 101 right-hand drive examples and believed to be one of just two RS500s fitted with the striking Red Nappa Leather front seats, from factory, from new.The history file is very impressive, containing a plethora of paperwork and documentation from the second it was ordered. It comes with its original book pack with a stamped service history up to 4,500 miles. It was ordered new by a private individual via Rufus Carr Ltd, Lancashire and within the file there is the New Vehicle Order Form dated 28th April 2010, the original Purchase Invoice dated 31st August 2010 for £36,700 including the £1,000 DVD SatNav option, the handover checklist dated 17th September 2010 and pre-delivery/delivery transportation documentation from the factory in Germany where they were built. Crucially, this includes the factory production document for the Nappa Red Recaro seats. Additionally, there are photos of the car upon collection, Ford documentation on how to clean and care for the 3M wrap, the Mountune Certificate and physical copies of every MOT from new. To say the first owner was a perfectionist doesn’t quite cover it. There is a plastic envelope including every fuel receipt (always Shell Super Unleaded) for the first six months of its life. From the Mountune document, we understand that on 18th March 2011 they fitted some performance parts including their Sports Exhaust and inlet plenum. These parts remain fitted to the car, but the first owner wisely kept all the original parts and they will be included in the sale. For safety and insurance purposes it has a Tracker system fitted with all the associated paperwork. This particular car, alongside its Sierra RS500 stablemate, featured as the main article and front/back cover stars of Fast Ford magazine, issue 302 March 2011 and a a copy is included. The car was bought new, then later sold to another private buyer, bought back by the original owner, then sold to our vendor, a personal friend, so it's actually three owners from new but reads as three previous keepers on the logbook. #128 was purchased by our vendor in 2014 at 6,000 miles and kept ever since, covering just 1,500 joyful miles in those ten years. Not liking the quality or aesthetics of the factory 'matte' wrap, our vendor set about removing it to reveal the Panther Black paintwork underneath, which he expected to be in showroom condition, but as all RS500s were wrapped, Ford clearly didn’t bother making the paintwork perfect. As a result, our vendor then spent over 24 working hours machine polishing the paintwork to bring it up to an incredibly high standard, before attaching their 'uncovered' title to the back of the car. This RS500 stands above the rest for all the right reasons and looks undeniably stunning in its gleaming Panther Black paintwork. An RS500 is a rare car at the best of times, however, to find an example in such incredible condition, let alone the fact that it has covered less than 8,000 miles and is virtually ‘out of the box’, is a brilliant opportunity for any modern classic collector, whether a ‘Blue Oval’ enthusiast or not, and is certainly not to be missed.SpecificationMake: FORDModel: FOCUS RS500Year: 2010Chassis Number: WF0GXXGCDGAJ82946Registration Number: R55 OOCTransmission: ManualEngine Number: AJ82946Drive Side: Right-hand DriveOdometer Reading: 7681 MilesMake: RHDInterior Colour: Red LeatherClick here for more details and images

Rare and increasingly desirable, this superb Escort 'AVO' Mk1 RS2000 is fresh from an exacting restoration. With their Escort doing so well in the world of rallying, it made sense that Ford would try and sell developed versions beyond the usual homologation specials. The job of creating more widely produced, fast Escorts was left to Ford's new Advanced Vehicle Operations, based in Essex.Following up on the rather complex RS1600 of 1970 came the Mexico and RS2000 which were far more suited to the man in the street. In June 1973, the Mexico was supplanted by the RS2000 and the model fitted nicely into the AVO line up with its performance almost comparable to the RS1600, but with the same reliability and ease of maintenance as the Mexico. Importantly, the RS2000 utilised the same Type-49 body shell as the Mexico and RS1600.The RS2000 was the first Escort to be powered by the overhead cam four-pot, as Ford decided that their 1,993cc 'Pinto' engine was to be used in the new model however, Ford faced the problem of persuading the bulky Pinto engine to fit into the engine bay and the only way of achieving this was to discard the engine-driven cooling fan and replace it with a thermostatically controlled Kenlowe unit. When finally nestled in place, the Pinto engine produced 100bhp and the RS2000 once again proved to be a quick and delightful car to drive, whilst being more accessible to buy and still offering customers a great choice in terms of colours and options.Finished in its original factory colour of Olympic Blue with a grey cloth interior, this fabulous RS2000 is offered fresh from an exacting professional restoration and with work just completed, it’s clear to see the lengths that have been taken to preserve the original detail with the standard of work being exemplary. No stone has been left unturned with every nut, bolt, washer and screw having received attention. The matching numbers engine and gearbox have been rebuilt by Ridgeway Racing Engines with particular attention to detail as Paul Broadway, the founder of Ridgeway Racing Engines, was the previous custodian, having had the Escort in his care for some 27 years. The original Twin 40 DHLA Dell’Orto carbs have been replaced by a pair of 45DCOE Webers on a Simpson stainless steel manifold with burnt gases exiting through a stainless-steel 2.5’’ sports exhaust system. Delve a little deeper and you see the original etched glass still in place, even the original radiator has been retained rather than replaced, simply requiring a new core. Similarly, the suspension and braking system have been fully overhauled as required and the car now sits on the correct RS-Ronal 7.5"x13" 4-spoke alloys wearing fresh Nankang rubber. The interior has also received the same level of attention with a retrim by Aldridge Trimming and the delicate dashboard veneers carefully refinished. So fresh, in fact, is the build that a period of running-in is strongly recommended to obtain the very best from this spectacular Ford.Your early inspection is welcomed and encouraged to fully appreciate the detail of this RS2000 which is as clean on the underside as it is on top. To find a genuine AVO-built RS2000 is a rare thing, particularly when factory-fitted with the Custom Pack, but to find one in this condition is extraordinary.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT RS2000 Year: 1974 Chassis Number: BFATPY00498 Registration Number: OAL 776M Transmission: Manual Engine Number: TBA Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 611 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

One of 130 UK right-hand drive examples of the final year of production 930 Turbo with the G50, 5-speed gearbox and less than 10,000 miles from new. First introduced in 1975, the 930 Turbo version of the amazing Porsche 911 evolved every few years to maintain its position as one of the fastest and most desirable sports cars of its time. By 1989, the final versions were offering 330bhp, which when coupled with the new G50 5-speed gearbox, propelled the car up to a top speed of 162mph and a 0-60 was covered in just 4.9 seconds. Porsche enthusiasts often consider the 930 of 1989 to be the ultimate incarnation, as it was the only year that this model was fitted with the 5-speed G50 gearbox which offered ratios better suited to the Turbo's power delivery, and 1989 was the last year of production of the iconic 930 Turbo which makes it just that bit special.Offered here is one of those 130 final UK (C16), right-hand drive cars finished in its original factory Paint to Sample (PTS), Minerva Blue with a Colour to Sample White interior, almost certainly unique amongst those final G50 cars. Supplied new to its one and only owner by the Official Porsche Centre, Swinford Motors, on 1st August 1989, it has remained cossetted in his heated garage for nearly 35 years, covering only 9,955 miles in that time.It was meticulously maintained by Porsche Centres until 2005, when the owner acquired a Ferrari 430 and the Porsche was carefully stored until now, but constantly maintained and used only sparingly on fine days. This truly exceptional, UK-delivered C16 Porsche 911 Turbo comes complete with a comprehensive list of factory options, an 'as new' tool kit and is MOT’d until November 2024.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ93ZKS000458 Registration Number: G464 LWD Transmission: Manual Engine Number: 67K00624 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 9955 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: CTS White LeatherClick here for more details and images

On offer from a private Collection, a very smart example of what was undoubtedly the start of the future.  In today's automotive landscape, it's essential for major manufacturers to incorporate hybrid or all-electric options into their lineup. BMW took this a step further by launching BMW i, a brand dedicated to promoting environmentally friendly vehicles. Leading this initiative is the i8, which made its debut as a concept at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show before hitting the market in April 2014. This plug-in hybrid boasts impressive performance, with a turbocharged petrol engine powering the rear wheels and an electric motor in the front axle assembly. With outputs of 228bhp and 139bhp equivalent, the i8 accelerates from 0-60mph in under 4.4 seconds and is electronically limited to 155mph. Its sleek coupé design features 'butterfly' doors and a carbon fibre-reinforced passenger cell, contributing to its low drag coefficient and fuel efficiency at high speeds. Whether silently gliding on electric power or unleashing its speed with a flick of a switch, the i8 marks a significant step towards the future, challenging traditional notions of automotive performance. Here is a stunning BMW i8 finished in Protonic Blue over Frozen Grey metallic paintwork, complemented by an Ivory White BMW 'i-Spheric' perforated full leather interior. This right-hand drive example, first registered in January 2015, was acquired by the current owner from Stratstone BMW in April 2017, with detailed records included. Part of a private Collection, the car has been meticulously maintained by professionals, with maintenance invoices and the original BMW owner's handbook included. As one of the world's most sought after electric-hybrid sports cars, the i8 represents a pioneering blend of speed, style, and sustainability. With production now ceased, it's transitioning into a modern classic, offering a compelling option for eco-conscious drivers seeking performance without compromise. Don't miss the opportunity to own this stylish sports car, perfectly suited for navigating emission-controlled zones with ease.Specification Make: BMW Model: I8 Year: 2015 Chassis Number: WBY2Z220X0VX65810 Registration Number: LO64 XTG Transmission: Auto Engine Number: A026O898 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 28596 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Ivory White LeatherClick here for more details and images

A collector-quality example of Renault's never-to-be-repeated, limited edition design classic with just over 5,000 miles and an extensive service history. Designed from the outset as a driver's car, the Spider's chassis was made of aluminium (combining low weight and substantial strength) clad in a GRP body. The gearbox and engine were one unit, transversally fixed in an oscillating hinge (an arrangement inspired by aeronautical design), which all but eradicated the interference of engine vibration with the chassis. The pedals of the Spider were adjustable as well as the seat so the driver could achieve the absolute optimum driving position. The heart of the Spider was a mid-mounted, 2-litre, DOHC F7R four-cylinder engine which was borrowed from the Clio Williams and later used in the Mégane Coupé. Tuned to generate 148bhp and 129lb/ft of torque, the 16-valve unit was linked to a 5-speed manual transmission that sent power to the rear wheels. The 930kg two-seater sprinted from 0 to 62mph in 6.9 seconds and went on to a top speed of 133mph.According to the official production numbers, there were just 1,685 examples of the Spider assembled in Alpine’s Dieppe factory from 1996 to 1999. Each car was hand-built from start to finish and took about 90 hours to complete, which partially justified it's relatively high price at the time. The Spider model was unfortunately discontinued after only a year and a half of production.400 left-hand drive cars were produced as 'saute vente’ with a wind deflector (instead of a windscreen) which created an air-screen in front of the driver. For the UK-market, a number of right-hand drive cars were built with windscreens, but only 60 of them were sold. The remainder of the cars were sold in the German market converted back to left-hand drive, with the addition of a driver’s airbag. The 1997 Renault Sport Spider presented here is one of those 60 windscreen-equipped, right-hand drive examples sold new to the UK-market and has covered just over 5,000 miles since new. It's finished in the original three-stage Pearlescent Liquid Yellow paintwork – arguably a Spider’s signature colour. Incredibly original and still in 'showroom condition', there cannot be many better examples available, its condition being wholly commensurate with its low mileage, fully supported by servicing records.  It was supplied new on 16th December 1997 through Bailey’s of Hanley Ltd. (Renault) and is still accompanied by its owner's book-pack, service book, numerous receipts and invoices, V5C, previous MOT Certificates and both keys, as well as clear and weatherproof cockpit covers. It also retains its original ‘briefcase’ in the front luggage compartment which houses the locking wheel nut, spares, tow hook, and jack. The service record is impeccable too, the most recent (with cambelt) being carried out at Renault specialists, Cedar Motors Ltd. of Leicestershire, in August 2023. Full details in the history file. This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a special little sports car which is rarely seen on British roads and that is sure to be the talking point at any classic car show.Specification Make: RENAULT Model: SPORTS SPIDER Year: 1999 Chassis Number: VMKAF0H0515801676 Registration Number: R137 EFA Transmission: Manual Engine Number: C000322 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 5215 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

This well sorted MG TC represents the best of post-war light sports cars and still catches the eye. A landmark in the history of MG, the TC was the first British sports car to sell in serious numbers globally, proving a huge success in America where it paved the way for generations of Triumphs, Austin-Healeys and numerous others. Launched in 1945, the TC may have been a mildly revamped version of the short-lived TB, but the formula of traditional sports car styling, sparkling performance and affordability made the latest MG a winner, with some 10,000 examples rolling off the production lines at Abingdon over the next five years. Some useful modifications were made to the TBs suspension, with new shock absorbers and conventional springs in place of the sliding trunnion set-up of the pre-war model. The willing 1,250cc four-cylinder engine produced 54bhp at 5,200rpm, delivered to the rear wheels through a 4-speed gearbox with synchromesh on second, third and top. With its upright radiator, separate wings and a fold-flat windscreen, the MG's steadfastly traditional appearance bucked prevailing styling trends, lacking amenities like bumper bars or even a heater, all of which only seemed to enhance the TCs appeal to hardy sportscar drivers around the world. This charming 1947 MG TC was fully restored between 2002 and 2005 and the quality still shines through, providing the gentle patina that we all admire. The ground-up restoration included blasting the chassis and finishing with a high quality powder coat topped with a new Hutson body tub. At some point the original engine has been replaced with a 1,359cc unit (B9898) and XPAG Engineering carried out a full rebuild on this engine and gearbox. The car is fitted with the improved steering box and updated rear axle seals, and was treated to a four wheel geometry set-up. The interior was retrimmed in tan leather and looks splendid with its original Jaeger instruments and Bluemells sprung wheel and it has a full set of weather equipment including a half-tonneau. It wears a correct Lucas FT27 fog light and the high-level brake light is removeable for the sake of originality. Finished in the best colour for post-war Britain and a timeless design that still cuts the mustard. This well sorted MG TC represents the best of post-war light sportscars and still catches the eye. Fully restored with a myriad of OEM+ upgrades, a simply outstanding matching numbers example with just two former keepers, well known and much respected within the RS Owners Club. In September 1978, Ford introduced the RS2000 'Custom' which came fitted with 'Fishnet' Recaro seats, full door cards, clock and pod, centre console, 6Jx13" alloys, boot carpet, remote driver's door mirror and a black panel around the rear lights. In 1980, an RS2000 Custom was an extremely aspirational purchase, with the distinctive polyurethane 'droop snoot' front end and air dam, distinguishing it from any other Escort.Finished in Signal Red with a Chocolate Brown interior, this Escort RS2000 Custom was supplied new in June 1980 via the Ford main dealer E. Hodgson & Son Ltd. of Retford, Nottinghamshire to its original owner, a Mr Bentley of Sheffield. In July 1990 it was sold to its second keeper, a Mr Leathers of Alfreton, who had always wanted a 'new' or the 'best RS' but having never achieved this, sourced this one previous owner example from Sheffield. In 1991, Mr Leathers' desire for perfection meant that the car was fully stripped down, with new/genuine parts sourced, from as far away as Germany, whilst the body-shop worked on the car between jobs and at weekends. Two years passed before the bodyshell was fully completed and Mr Leathers took delivery of his 'rolling' project with the intention of finishing it, however other commitments resulted in it remaining unfinished for another 12 years before finally stalling. Our vendor heard, through a friend, about the RS and upon seeing the quality of the work done thus far, he just had to buy it. This was in August 2005, when it was moved into his sealed, dehumidified workshop and when time and monies allowed, it was painstakingly finished – this wasn’t until 2016 – but it was well worth the wait! It has been a regular attendee at RS Owners Club events and meets where it has garnered much admiration. The car benefits from many new/old stock (NOS) parts and some of the usual period upgrades including a 5-speed gearbox (fully rebuilt) with a quick-shift gear selector, 7" Ronal alloy wheels, new back axle, NOS Ford rear drums, a one-piece prop, new brake & fuel lines, an NOS fuel tank, 'Group 1' Bilstein rear shocks, front NOS Capri 2.8i struts with 'Group 1' inserts, 2.8i vented discs/calipers, single leaf rear springs, braided brake hoses, NOS Weber carb, an Ashley exhaust manifold and system, new radiator and hoses, electronic ignition and a rebuilt dashboard (including circuit foils and voltage regulator). Its original matching numbers engine was fully rebuilt by specialist W.S. Bates Ltd. of Nottingham (re-bored, new pistons, shells, bearings, valves etc.) with a lightly gas-flowed head, plus a period Ford push-button radio, NOS window/screen rubbers, NOS rear boot spoiler and a new brake master cylinder.Still proudly wearing its original registration number, and sporting its original interior, this two-previous-owners 1980s sports saloon is to be celebrated; these are great cars, with a proper following and deservedly so. The extensive rebuild is documented with photos and invoices, whilst the car drives and runs as well as you’d imagine. A genuine 'best-of-breed' RS2000 Custom, don’t miss it.Specification Make: FORD Model: ESCORT RS2000 CUSTOM Year: 1980 Chassis Number: GCATAC017650 Registration Number: OVL 314V Transmission: Manual Engine Number: AC01765 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 96861 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Delightful second-generation Corvette in Nassau Blue with a 427ci 'big-block' and a manual gearbox. Introduced in 1963, Chevrolet's sensational new Corvette Stingray (factory designation C2) represented a quantum leap for America's favourite sports car, both technically and in terms of its dramatic looks, and featured a new ladder-type chassis designed by Zora Arkus-Duntov combined with stunning bodywork penned by Larry Shinoda for Bill Mitchell's styling team. Initially sold with the classic 'small-block' 327ci V8 under the elegant bonnet, the C2 was a significant improvement over the earlier cars thanks to independent suspension all-round, the much stiffer box-section frame and, from 1965, the addition of Delco disc brakes at each corner. The list of drivetrain choices expanded to include a 396ci 'big-block' in 1965 followed by the legendary 427ci the following year along with an array of manual or automatic transmissions.Cosmetic changes were remarkably few, a testament to Shinoda's original concept, and only minor alterations were made for 1966 including a new 'egg-crate' grille, new rocker-panel mouldings, chrome-plated exhaust bezels, a new wheel cover design and the 'Corvette Stingray' script added to the bonnet. This delightful example dates from 1966 and is powered by the 427ci 'Turbo-Jet' V8 combined with a manual gearbox. Naturally, it's left-hand drive and is superbly presented in Nassau Blue with a white soft top and a classic black interior, all set off by chromed side-exit exhausts and C2 direct-bolt 'knockoff' wheels with narrow 'whitewalls'.It arrived from the USA in 1989 and since then, the history file contains a complete timeline and a breakdown of the expenditure lavished on keeping this Corvette in the best possible condition and mechanical health. Much of the restoration work was carried out in 2004/5 by renowned Corvette specialists, Vette Dreams, and the file details extensive work including the Nassau Blue repaint and an engine rebuild by Tower Engineering of Clacton-on-Sea which included a reground crankshaft, all new bearings, fully balanced and a top-end rebuild with new exhaust valve seats. The history file contains multiple invoices covering the purchase of parts from marque specialists. Judging by earlier MOTs and recorded mileages, it appears that the car has only covered around three thousand miles since the restoration and still presents to a very high standard today. More recently, in 2022/3, the power steering assembly including all the belts was replaced ensuring that the driving experience of this very quick Corvette remains a pleasure. It was with its last owner for 15 years who so enjoyed the car that, having sold it once, he bought it back.Although later generations of Corvette became more technologically advanced, none have quite managed to capture the style, presence and driving pleasure of the original 1963-67 Stingrays.Specification Make: CHEVROLET Model: CORVETTE Year: 1966 Chassis Number: 194676S110068 Registration Number: PBY 109D Transmission: Manual Drive Side: Left-hand Drive Make: LHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images

Fitted with the Tiptronic S gearbox, elegantly specified as one of the fastest, most luxuriously appointed cabriolets of its day and just 20,100 miles and two owners from new. Perhaps the only modern sports coupé that the vast majority of people could identify without its badge, the Porsche 911 is a uniquely aspirational model for those wanting a reliable daily sports car, a paradox of statement and subtlety. Perfected over generations, each variant of the 911 has met the expectations of the individual and whilst the daily commute in a Carrera was acceptable for some, the 911 Turbo was something special. Refined yet capable of supercar speeds, the evolution of the Turbo came into its own with the 996 generation of the late 1990s and early 2000s, however the circular headlamps were missed and in 2004 they returned with the 997 Carrera. It wasn't until 2006 that the Turbo version was finally revealed, first shown at that year's Geneva Show and initially offered as a coupé with an impressive specification. The Mezger 3.6-litre engine was carried over but now produced 480bhp at 6,000rpm and featured 'VarioCam Plus' and a pair of clever Borg-Warner variable geometry turbochargers, a totally new technology for Porsche. With a manual gearbox, the 997 Turbo requires just 3.9 seconds to reach 62mph and will go on to 193mph, whilst an impressive 3.7 seconds is achievable with deft use of the 5-speed Tiptronic S selector paddles.Power is transmitted to all four wheels with Porsche Traction Management (PTM) which utilises an electronically controlled, multi-plate clutch. This intelligent technology provides variable drive to each axle. The front/rear split is continuously adjusted based on current road conditions and driver inputs and, although biased towards the rear, the front receives more power whenever the situation requires. The May 2007 launch of the Turbo Cabriolet was universally acclaimed, yet it entered a competitive market that ironically it had helped to create, but brand loyalty, due to its reputation for reliability and blistering speed, set the car apart. For some, only a red Ferrari will do, much like a black 911 Turbo would be the obvious choice for many, and questionable colour choices have come in and out of fashion over the years. So we applaud the first owner’s specification of this Turbo Cabriolet in Macadamia Metallic with a Cocoa power-hood above the Sand Beige leather interior and the rare, for a 911, fitment of wooden accents. The Sycamore trim is beautifully finished, a classy addition that is neither ostentatiously Bentley or obviously Jaguar. The copy Bill of Sale to the first of its two owners on 18th September 2007 confirms that the car was to 'look the part' as can be seen in the options, such as the painted front spoiler lip, additional leather and Sycamore trim, crested headrests, stainless-steel door guards and much more, for a total cost of £126,116.The history file is confidence-inspiring and will be complemented by a Porsche main dealer service before the auction, together with a fresh MOT. Presented with some 20,200 miles from new (at the time of cataloguing), and clearly enjoyed for special outings, this motor car is one for the connoisseur.Specification Make: PORSCHE Model: 911 -997 Year: 2007 Chassis Number: WP0ZZZ99Z8S786438 Registration Number: GY57 AHV Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 62801676 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 20200 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: Sand Beige LeatherClick here for more details and images

An early production example with a factory hardtop, low ownership and just 33,542 miles from new. Some cars just get better looking with age and the R107 Series Mercedes-Benz SL is definitely amongst them. Overshadowed for a long time by its graceful 'Pagoda' predecessor, it's now becoming better appreciated for what it is - a beautifully built sports roadster that is totally dependable. To this day, no car door closes with a more reassuring 'thunk' than a Mercedes SL and everything about the car suggests solid engineering. Fast, comfortable and discreetly understated, the SL has a matchless ability to munch up the miles for year after year without ever seeming to falter. No wonder it stayed in production, fundamentally unaltered, from 1971 until 1989 - the longest production run of any Mercedes car to date. Mercedes offered a number of engine choices over the years, however the early cars were fitted with the 3.5-litre, M116.980, SOHC V8 featuring Bosch D-Jetronic fuel-injection and produced, when new, 197bhp and 210ft/lbs of torqueVery rare in original condition, this early production, low ownership R107 350SL has only covered 33,542 miles from new having spent a well documented 22 years professionally stored and cared for by Storacar in Buckinghamshire. The original Mercedes-Benz service book shows that it was registered to its first Mayfair owner in early 1972 and contains seven stamps through to 2015, supporting the very low indicated mileage. It's finished in Arctic White with black leather trim, rare in period as most cars were specified with cloth or MB-Tex. The correspondence in the history file suggests that the SL was used by the first owner and his wife through to 1991 (first and second owners) when it was sold to its third owner who put it into storage where it remained until purchased by our vendor in 2015 (only 193 miles were covered in 22 years of storage). It's supplied with a factory hardtop and a fascinating history file containing the service records, a fresh MOT valid until April 2025, and a copy of Classic Mercedes Magazine in 2015 with a feature comparing this early car to a final production car from 1989.Specification Make: MERCEDES-BENZ Model: 350SL Year: 1972 Chassis Number: 10704322004610 Registration Number: RBY 511K Transmission: Automatic Engine Number: 11698222003035 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Make: RHD Interior Colour: Black LeatherClick here for more details and images

In superbly original condition, just 25,000 miles, with full service history and from 32-years ownership.   In 1986, the original Sierra Cosworth was a new kind of performance car - a blue-collar hero able to humble true sports cars. In 1988, Ford introduced the Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth, a more ‘discreet’ version, built using the four-door Sapphire bodyshell, first with the same rear-wheel drive layout as the three-door original, and then later with four-wheel drive; but even with a more restrained exterior, a plush velour interior and an executive four-door shell, the Sapphire was far from dull. The early rear-wheel drive cars had 204bhp from the YBB engine (205 block), a T5 gearbox, 7" x 15" lattice alloy wheels, front and rear spoilers, side skirts and Recaro seats. The rear-wheel drive cars could hit 60mph in 6.1 seconds. Despite the extra power and potential for greater traction, the later 4x4 Sapphire was slower to 60mph, reaching the speed in 6.6 secs. Approximately 13,140 2WD Sapphire examples were produced during 1988-1989; all were assembled in Ghenk, Belgium, with UK-built Ford-Cosworth engines. The car presented here is a 1989 Ford Sierra Sapphire RS Cosworth (2WD) and is in super original, unmolested condition. First registered on 18th August 1989, this superb example has covered just over 25,000 miles within the same family since it was just two years old. Due to the owner's poor health, this Sapphire remained unused and garaged for over 20 years. A combination of diligent ownership, minimal use (due to circumstance) and sheer preservation, now means this ‘Fast Ford’ is in collector-quality condition. We are informed that this exceptional car still retains its original factory-fitted panels, factory-etched glass and its original paint throughout. The interior is described as showing virtually no wear on the switchgear or surfaces. Likewise, all the dials and switchgear are said to function correctly, there are no cracks or UV damage to the dashboard and the original Recaro seats remain in beautiful condition. The boot contains its original Dunlop Sport spare wheel and factory-fitted jack whilst the parcel shelf is straight and free from any aftermarket speaker holes. The original electronic sound system, ECU2 (including power amplifier) are also still in situ, whilst the factory-fitted 15" wheels are shod with period Pirelli P600 tyres. The brakes have been fully recommissioned, benefiting from new rear calipers, brake fluid and discs/pads.The accompanying service history file includes the original Ford service book, owner’s handbook, radio operation manual, numerous invoices, two Ford keys, old tax discs and MOT history certificates. If you are looking for an unmolested, original RS Cosworth, this is probably one of the worthiest candidates currently available. The lighter and rarer version of the Sapphire, this example is one for the Ford connoisseur and is offered at an attractive price guide, offering the new owner membership of the exclusive club of RS ownership.Specification Make: FORD Model: SIERRA SAPPHIRE RS COSWORTH 2WD Year: 1989 Chassis Number: WF0FXXGBBFJS34294 Registration Number: G399 MGH Transmission: Manual Engine Number: JS34294 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 25115 Miles Make: RHDClick here for more details and images

Lot 233

One of just 88 S2.2s produced, on offer from 40 years long term ownership, a previous Concours d'Elegance winner and remaining in outstanding condition. In the early 1970s, the recently appointed Tony Rudd came up with two major ideas, codenamed Project M50 and Project M70, the former becoming the 1974 Lotus Elite and the latter, the Esprit. The S1 Esprit was released in 1976 following halts in production and design, with Colin Chapman being underwhelmed by the model version’s wind-tunnel performance. The S2 launched in 1978 and the incredibly rare S2.2 was released in May 1980 as a ‘stop gap’ car, to bridge the 13-month void between the S2 and S3. As part of the advertising and marketing program, the S2 was launched featuring the infamous shot of its creator, Colin Chapman, perched on a Championship Gold S2 Esprit in front of his JPS logo'd Cessna Chancellor executive twin. It's the kind of image that only the 1970s could pull off with any degree of normality.External differences from the S1 included new intake and cooling ducts behind the rear quarter windows, 15" Speedline alloy wheels, tail lights from the Rover SD1 and an integrated front spoiler. Not known for their practicality, more helpful changes were made including relocating the battery to the rear of the car, adding an access door to the engine cover, installing wider seats and replacing the Veglia instrument cluster with individual Smiths. The only major differences between the S2 and the S2.2 was a 2.2-litre Type 912 engine and the all-important galvanised chassis. Power output stayed the same at 160bhp but torque rose from 140lb/ft to 160lb/ft. Realistic Lotus claims indicate 0-60mph in around seven seconds and an 80-100mph time in fifth gear that was effectively halved.Leaving the Hethel factory in February of 1980, this S2.2 is offered by its third owner from new, who purchased the car from Bell & Colville in Surrey on 1st December 1984 with a recorded 21,00 miles. That’s some 40-years of single ownership, one of the longest we’ve seen! They had always wanted an Esprit and this happened to be the right car, at the right time, in the right place. Unfortunately, due to a growing family and the associated commitments, the car was put into dry storage in 1992 and remained there until recently, when it was subject to a full engine-out overhaul and rebuild by marque specialists, Maidstone Sports Cars, completed in December 2023.The S2.2 presents in wonderfully wholesome and original condition and is finished in its distinctive colours of Lotus Yellow with a green suede interior - it is fabulously 1980s. As a member of Club Lotus for many years, the car has attended shows across the country, with placings and a win at Donnington in 1989. The history file makes for lovely reading, including the purchase invoice from Bell & Colville, its original and fully stamped service book, (most recent in 2023), heaps of old MOTs, invoices for maintenance and the original owners handbook.A fabulous example of the incredibly rare S2.2, with warranted low mileage and a recent refresh, there is very little not to love about this wonderful little Lotus.Specification Make: LOTUS Model: ESPRIT S2.2 Year: 1980 Chassis Number: SCCCB12A4AHD10871 Registration Number: PMJ 166W Transmission: Manual Engine Number: CC912800117869 Drive Side: Right-hand Drive Odometer Reading: 41564 Miles Make: RHD Interior Colour: BlackClick here for more details and images

Lot 171

A Great War ‘Ministry of Munitions’ M.B.E. group of four awarded to Major C. Leese, Army Service Corps, who flourished as a winter sportsman in the Alpine climate of Switzerland but whose health suffered in the damp and exposed conditions of the Western Front A gifted amateur golfer, he repeatedly showed his prowess in the Amateur Championship but was often thwarted by Joyce Wethered and her equally successful brother Roger The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, M.B.E. (Military) Member’s 1st type breast badge, silver, hallmarks for London 1917; 1914 Star (2. Lieut: C. Leese. A.S.C.); British War and Victory Medals (2. Lieut. C. Leese.) nearly extremely fine (4) £300-£400 --- M.B.E. (Military) London Gazette 1 January 1918. Clive Leese was born in Woking on 24 April 1885, the fourth son of Sir Joseph Francis Leese, K.C., M.P., 1st Baron Leese, of Send Holme, near Guildford. As Queen’s Council and Member of Parliament for Accrington from 1892 to 1910, his father was a hugely influential figure who was known in particular as a keen advocate for women’s suffrage. His mother was similarly exalted as a sportswoman; according to The Lancashire Daily Post of 28 January 1907, the only thing that could hold Lady Mary Constance Leese back from the ski slopes of Davos was ‘a severe case of influenza’. Clive Leese proved just as talented - at least his mother’s equal in winter sports - most notably in winning a third place finish in the English Figure Skate Bowl in 1905 and victory at Davos in 1907. The outbreak of the Great War saw Leese appointed Lieutenant in the Army Service Corps in the London Gazette of 19 September 1914. Posted to France from 5 October 1914, he witnessed early service at the Advanced Motorised Transport Depot. Evacuated home with an attack of pleurisy, the Proceedings of a Medical Board held at Caxton Hall on 4 February 1915 noted: ‘suffered from cold & exposure on active service with Expeditionary Force’. Raised Acting Major on 9 November 1916, Leese was seconded to the Ministry of Munitions. His name was later brought to the notice of the Secretary of State for War for ‘valuable services rendered in connection with the war’ and he was awarded the M.B.E. (Military). Demobilised on 22 February 1919, Leese took employment as a solicitor in the family firm of Fairfield, Leese and Munns of 31, Old Jewry, London. He further dedicated his free time to amateur golf and became firm friends with some of the leading exponents of the game, most notably Joyce and Roger Wethered, the former being recognised as perhaps the greatest ‘lady golfer’ of her generation. Having initially dipped his toes at the 1905 Amateur Championship at Prestwick, Leese made it to the last 16 at St. Andrews in 1907. In 1921 he made short shrift of a Cambridge Varsity singles opponent, and in 1923 he and Mr. G. D. Forrester inflicted a ‘crushing defeat’ upon an Oxford and Cambridge Society pairing. Representing Woking Golf Club, Leese later lost a mere 2 and 1 to the Wethereds; a lucky escape given that Joyce and Roger were later described as ‘cruel’ to a Kentish brother and sister pair. Even the great Bobby Jones of Augusta National fame was keen to note of Joyce: ‘I have not played golf with anyone, man or woman, amateur or professional, who made me feel so utterly outclassed’. The following year, Leese once again reached the last 16 of the Amateur Championship, but received an utter drubbing (7 and 6) at the hands of Roger Wethered over the Old Course. According to Sketch on 4 June 1924: ‘Out in a grand score of 33 strokes, magnificent play by Wethered left Leese looking to the heavens, likely wondering what on earth he could do to alleviate the pain.’ Leese spent the 1920s as a regular Surrey County golfer and won the prestigious Royal Mid-Surrey Scratch Medal in 1928. He later served as Chairman of the Chiswick Sports Association, but his life was cut short on the operating table in November 1932. The Leese Baronetcy subsequently passed to his eldest brother and thence to Sir Oliver William Hargreaves Leese, K.C.B., C.B.E., D.S.O.; for the next decade the Leese name remained in the press, but instead of filling the sporting back pages in the footsteps of Clive and his mother, Sir Oliver garnered headlines as Commander of XXX Corps in North Africa and Sicily, before taking over the reins of Eighth Army in succession to Field Marshal Sir Bernard Montgomery of Alamein.
