Sporting: A Doulton Lambeth, Art Nouveau Stoneware Mug, Made by Doulton Lambeth, circa 1890s. A stoneware mug in the Art Nouveau style. Tan coloured with glazed foilage, flared shape to the top of the mug, with Doulton stamp to base and metal band around the rim of the mug. The mug depicts sports of football, shot put and running. Appears in a good condition, with no obvious signs of damage or repair. Height approx. 16cm.

The following seventeen lots are from the estate of James Connolly who worked for the Sunday Express for fifty years as a sports reporter; he mainly covered football and the lots contain press cuttings from many of the major football matches played in the 1950s to 1970s and programmes from the games he attended including the World Cup Final 1966 A 1966 World Cup Programme / Press Pass, a 1966 World Cup Programme plus the Press Pass for James William Anthony Connolly (Jim) who was reporting for the Sunday Express, both in good condition
James Connolly's Press Cuttings, 1960s / 1970s, a folder full of James Connolly's report writing for the Sunday Express over the 1960s and 1970s featuring the greats of that era including Brian Cough, George Best, Jimmy Greaves, Denis Law, Tommy Docherty and many more with numerous reports on the significant matches of that time, also included is his NUJ card 1977, a piece on Trevor Francis scoring four goals as a 16 year old for Birmingham, printed Roy Ullyett cartoon on 1977 League dinner menu, Arsenal Programme when James was the guest writer, retirement piece when James retired after 50 years as sports columnist for the Sunday Express, a tribute to James in the Tottenham v Coventry programme after his death in 1979 plus more, all in good condition
