1998 Triumph Daytona 595, 955cc. Registration number R350 LUT. Frame number SMTTE502LGW060911. Engine number 061069.Sold with the V5C, three keys, history/workshop folder, MOT's from 2009 at 17,414 miles until the most recent in 2022 at 19,769 miles, and rebuild sheet from 2021.The Triumph Daytona T595 was introduced in 1997 in an attempt by Triumph to tap into the sports bike market. Despite the T595 name, the bike featured a 955 cc displacement in-line three-cylinder engine designed in part by Lotus. Along with the other triple-cylinder Triumphs, the Daytona helped to establish the newly managed manufacturer and its distinctive and unique three-cylinder motorcycles. The T595-model name concatenated the new engine series "T5" and the first two numbers of the "955 cc" displacement. In 1999 the bike was renamed 955i because the T595 model name gave the impression that the bike's engine displaced 595 cc.LUT was bought by Mark Hession in 2001 and was in a poor condition so he sent it to our vendor, a noted bike restorer. Eventually he decided not to pay for the works being undertaken and signed the bike over. The restoration was completed and the bike used sparingly. In 2021 the bike underwent a complete 69 point makeover, paperwork on file and had its tank relined and painted due to ethanol issues. Last used in 2023 when it only travelled some 22miles it is now ready for a new home.

The red tank panels on chrome gas tank with red wheel rim centers made it a sporting and beautiful sports bike. TS was first registered on the 24th March 1932 to William Paton of Dundee, the RF 60A records five other Scottish owners before it came to Yorkshire in 1955 with John Fretwell. In 1998 Phillip Gillman was the owner and he successfully had the registration re-instated, by now the original 500cc engine had been replaced with a 350cc unit (the V5C has an incorrect entry). An MOT was also obtained at this time!! Our vendor, an ardent Ariel collector bought it in from him in 2000 as a project with a seized engine. It has remained in his garage, untouched, until today.
