Pele - Large print showing the famous footballer with a silver football on his head, signed lower left, 'To Alki youre da man love Pelé', also signed by the artist Marc Quinn, with certificate on reverse, framed and glazed, 53 x 105 cm. Edson Arantes do Nascimento (1940 2022), better known by his nickname Pelé was a Brazilian professional footballer who played as a forward. Widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, he was among the most successful and popular sports figures of the 20th century.
A rare Rolex Submariner ref. 6538 "Big Crown" stainless steel gentleman's wristwatch, case no. 307XXX, third quarter of 1957, the signed black dial with roundel, rectangular and triangular markers, outer minutes track, with gilt "Mercedes" hour hand, gilt minutes hand and oversize white painted "lollipop" seconds hand, the bi-directional rotating bezel with remains of the red triangle at twelve o'clock and no-hash markers, the 8mm crown with Rolex crown above BREVET, the movement numbered N746811, the caseback interior stamped 6538 above III 57, the bezel 37mm diameter, fitted to a Rolex 6636 riveted expandable bracelet with Rolex crown to the clasp, the end-links stamped 58, the folding clasp with small Rolex logo. Provenance- this watch was purchased new by the vendor in the late 1950's before he was posted to Malaysia as a junior officer in the Royal Army Service Corps (later the Royal Army Ordinance Corps). He also served in Kenya as well as tours in Germany and the UK, retiring as a Major in 1974. He was very active in sports and played rugby and athletics for his regiment.
