1968 Jaguar 240 Transmission: manualMileage:47317The lineage of the Mk. II can be directly traced back to its predecessor, the 2.4 saloon or Mk. I as it would come to be known in later years. This sporting saloon, designed to fill the gap in Jaguar's range between the XK sports and the voluminous Mk. VII, entered the market in 1956. Power came from the legendary XK straight six, twin cam engine in 2483cc form. The 2.4 was notable as being a complete breakaway from the previous designs of (Sir) William Lyons and Co. and was their first foray into the modern world of monocoque construction. Traditional Jaguar buyers would not feel alienated by the new offering from Coventry however, as the interior was still up to their usual standards with ample legroom and walnut being the order of the day. This nice example is presented in Old English White with a red  interior - such a classic combination for a Jaguar! It has had four former keepers and has a manual gearbox with overdrive which is mated to its 2.4 six-cylinder engine. There is some history with the car and according to the HPi its previous colour was green.

Lot 115

1973 MG Midget Transmission: manualMileage:14300First introduced by the British Motor Corporation in Monte Carlo on 20th May 1958 and intended as a low-cost model, the Sprite was designed by the Donald Healey Motor Company. The low cost of £669 was achieved by using a mildly tuned version of the A Series engine and as many other components from existing cars as possible. Manufactured at the MG sports car factory at Abingdon, it was not surprising that the success of the design would lead to an MG version, which was known as the Midget. In 1969 a 'British Leyland' makeover was applied to the Sprite, consisting of matt black paint on the sills, Rostyle wheels and a plastic front grille. In 1974, to meet US federal regulations, large black plastic bumpers were added to the front and rear and the ride height was increased; an anti-roll bar was added to help with the higher centre of gravity. The A-Series engine was replaced by the 1493cc unit from the Triumph Spitfire. The last car was manufactured on 7th December 1979, after 73,899 of the final version had been produced. This MG Midget was registered in December 1973 and presents in white with a contrasting black interior. This enthusiast owned car was a perfect lock down project and as such benefitted from the impressive list of works detailed in the file that accompanies the car. The progress of the jobs done were also recorded photographically. The list runs to nearly six pages and viewing by any potential buyer is recommended. It includes replacement of nearly all the braking system, a new stainless exhaust, the rebuilding of the suspension, servicing of the engine, the fitting of a new ignition system, the coolant system being disassembled and flushed, and the fitting of a new cylinder head, manifold and rocker cover gaskets. A de-coke was carried out and the valves lapped during the head gasket change. Offered to auction with a V5 registration document and although exempt by virtue of its age a valid MoT test certificate. Offered without reserve this MG would make an ideal first classic or be enjoyed by any enthusiast.

Lot 118

2006 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG F1 Performance Package Transmission: automaticMileage:127116The fifth generation of the legendary SL series of two-door convertible sports cars was known as the R230. It featured a fully retractable hardtop that was marketed as the Vario Roof, a first for the SL class although it had been available on the smaller SLK model since 1997. The flagship models were built by AMG in the form of the SL55 and SL65, both highly tuned versions of the SL500 and SL600 respectively. The SL55 was powered by a mighty supercharged version of the 5.5 litre, V8 which produced 493bhp and achieved 0-62 in 4.7 seconds and on to a top speed of 155mph (governed). In theory the SL55 could reach 190mph if the car was derestricted but for many, the acceleration and top speed is impressive enough in its standard form. This F1 Performance Package was originally registered on 3rd May 2006. These are exceptional cars, styled to perfection, great ergonomics and performance that must be experienced to be believed. This example has been enjoyed immensely, hence the mileage, although the most important thing is it has been well maintained. We are advised she drives very well and the roof works problem free. Finished in silver with black leather interior, this SL55 does have some age-related marks to the paintwork and will require some attention. However, this is a very competitively estimated Mercedes-Benz AMG and one that is supplied with a V5 document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 28th April 2023 and service history. These stylish sportscars are magnificent to drive and are hugely popular due to their ability to sit in traffic or travel at exceptional speed (where permitted) in comfort.Interested parties should note that the registration number MBZ 7000 is being retained by the owner and is NOT supplied with the vehicle.

Lot 120

1992 Alfa Romeo Spider S4 Transmission: manualMileage:78000The Spider designation for the open top sports cars originates from the word, speeder, and a two-person open horse carriage. The Alfa Romeo 105/115 Series Spider was produced from 1966 to 1993, remaining in production for almost three decades with only minor aesthetic and mechanical changes. Widely regarded as a design classic, this fourth series version of production came with further mechanical and cosmetic changes. Mechanical changes saw the introduction of the Bosch Motronic electronic fuel injection with an electric fan and cosmetically, losing its front under bumper spoiler and the rear boot spoiler picking up 164-style rear lights stretching across the width of the car together with colour coordinated plastic bumpers. This pretty right hand drive S4 Spider is presented in black with tan leather trim boasting the 2.0 litre Alfa Romeo engine. With just five owners from new and just under 49,000 miles, this is a low mileage, low owner example with a comprehensive history file including servicing, bills, MoT test certificates and works from leading Alfa specialists. The paintwork has recently been fully colour sanded and is in very good. Offered with an MoT test certificate valid until February 2023, there are few better ways to spend sunny afternoons driving in the British countryside.Guide Price £13,000 - £18,000

Lot 124

1969 MG C Roadster Transmission: manualMileage:34589The arrival of the MGC in 1967 was greeted with mixed reaction from enthusiasts and the motoring press alike. It can be described as one of the most controversial sports cars ever produced from Abingdon and during its short life the car was never short of attention, particularly from journalists. Upon its launch, the MGC was available in roadster form at £1,102 and in GT form at £1,249 and was considered very reasonably priced for one of the fastest production MGs produced. If, however, used as a relaxed high-speed tourer, the MGC was an extremely civilised motor car to drive. This example is presented in red with a black leather interior and black hood. There is a history file with invoices detailing its recommissioning and also the car comes with a Heritage Certificate. In the history file there is some paperwork outlining what works have been carried out in detail in 2016 and before       (too much to mention in this description). In short, a considerable amount of money has been spent on this lovely MGC, the details of which are worth reading.  These rare models with their six-cylinder 2.6 litre engine are only visibly different from other roadsters, by the small bump on the bonnet! These are fun to drive with their lively engine which produces a very satisfying exhaust note. It's a fun, fast and affordable classic offering open top motoring as all classics should be!

Lot 133

2011 Volkswagen Golf GTi Edition 35 Transmission: automaticMileage:38273Following Volkswagen's 30th anniversary edition GTi, the 35th anniversary was celebrated with the GTi Edition 35. Its engine was an updated version of the Mk5 GTi engine (also used in the Mk6 Golf R), a two litre turbocharged engine with 232bhp (24bhp more than the standard GTi) and acceleration from 0-62mph is in 6.6 seconds.  A range of cosmetic upgrades and extra standard equipment were fitted, and it also got a unique lower front fascia and Recaro sport seats. This lovely Japanese imported example is presented in grey with grey cloth interior and comes with electric windows, cruise control, Recaro sports seats, special trim, and air conditioning with climate control. Its supercharged two litre engine is mated to a six speed DSG gearbox. The bumpers and sills are reprofiled, there are a pair of discrete chrome 35 badges on each wing, 35 badges on the headrests, red-edged seatbelts and the legendary Golf ball gearknob is back. Like the Golf R, the Edition 35 feels and sounds angrier, more urgent and noticeably less civilised than a normal GTi. More like an old-school hot hatch, in fact. Great performance and handling and rare being the Edition 35, this is one 'hot hatch' that pleads to be enjoyed!

Lot 146

1999 Ferrari 456 GTA Transmission: automaticMileage:44230The Ferrari 456 was the first front-engine Ferrari for 20 years and offered true performance touring for four occupants. The 456 GT was announced in September 1992, making its public show debut in Paris the following month. This was a positive and brave move by the company, as the prestige sports car markets were in recession after all the speculation and hype of the late eighties. However, they showed their commitment to broadening their range and to maintaining their position at the head of the list of the world's most desirable automobiles. The Pininfarina styled aluminium bodywork made for a pleasing design, particularly the modernised reflection of the fabled 365 GTB/4 'Daytona' with the long bonnet, featuring retractable headlight pods. Also inspired by the 'Daytona' was the design treatment of the rear of the cabin envelope and tail. Thus, although the shape was thoroughly modern, it contained retro trace elements to associate it with the company's history. Electronically adjustable self-levelling suspension gave positive handling and a comfortable ride, while the 442bhp, V12 made sure that performance had not been overlooked.Registered in March of 1999, this stylish Ferrari looks well in Nero Black paintwork with a contrasting ivory leather interior. The file for this 456 contains a V5C registration document, a valid MoT test certificate and various service invoices, the most recent of which is for £3,987. We are informed that recent servicing works have been undertaken by the vendors mechanic. The car certainly performed well on a recent test drive. The 456 model has the practicality of four seats combined with the perfect balance of aggressiveness and elegance. This handsome automatic transmission, example awaits a new owner to enjoy it to its fullest and is offered without reserve.

Lot 148

1968 Ford Cortina Mk. II 1600E (Series I) Transmission: manualMileage:7705The second incarnation of the Cortina was designed by Roy Haynes and was launched on 18th October 1966. One of the best loved versions of that Cortina appeared in 1967, the 1600E, which was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in October of that year. The mechanical specification included an 88bhp, 1600cc Cortina GT engine which achieved a fuel consumption of 25 miles per gallon. The 1600E interior came equally well equipped and included special rear bucket seats, reclining front seats, sports steering wheel, extra instruments and wood trim. Production ended in 1970 and, despite attempts at reviving the idea of an 'Executive' version of other, later models, Ford never recaptured the original feel of the Cortina Mk. II based 1600E. For 1969, the Mk. II model was given subtle revisions with separate 'FORD' block letters mounted on the bonnet and boot lid, a blacked-out grille and chrome strips above and below the rear lights running the full width of the rear panel on the Series II.This fabulous Cortina was originally registered on 3rd April 1968 and presents in stunning condition. Clearly the subject of a total restoration, the bodywork is superb, she is as clean underneath as it is on top. The red coachwork is to a very good standard and the black interior unmarked. We are advised the car starts on the button and drives well. These are very simple cars mechanically and a competent DIY mechanic can carry out routine maintenance. The quality of this 1600E has to be seen to be appreciated, the Series I instantly recognisable by the four dials set high in the dashboard. The performance of these classic Fords was considered brisk in the day, the 1600GT Kent engine offered good acceleration and is a very reliable unit. Offered for sale with a V5/C document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 20th January 2023, we expect this Ford Cortina 1600E to create significant interest.

Lot 153

1988 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:44500The 560 SL convertible was the latest in Mercedes-Benz's long and much loved line of luxury sports cars. Launched in 1983 it could trace its lineage back to the 230 SL of 1963. The 560 SL was powered by a 5.5 litre, overhead camshaft V8 engine producing 227bhp, an output good enough for a top speed of 220kmh with 100kmh reachable in around eight seconds. There were improvements to the running gear in the form of anti-dive, anti-squat rear suspension, a limited slip differential and revised steering geometry. The 560 SL has a high level of standard equipment, included leather upholstery, anti-lock braking, an anti-theft alarm system, stereo radio/cassette, leather trimmed steering wheel, gear lever and an improved climate control system. This lovely example of this sought-after model is presented in original European specification (not the US specification with ugly bumpers!) and was delivered new to Japan in 1988. It is presented in silver with black interior, factory hardtop and a black hood which we believe has never been used. This luxurious sports car also comes with its original Becker stereo, original books and service history, and was previously dry stored for 20 years and only recommissioned by the present owner recently. It has heated front seats, cruise control and climate control. These are rare cars and with low mileage, this represents a fine addition to any classic car stable. Offered with No Reserve, this surely must be one of the best opportunities available today!

Lot 161

1963 Triumph TR4 (Surrey Top) Transmission: manualMileage:Produced between 1961 and 1967, the TR4 combined a new, modern and aggressive body design by famed Italian stylist, Giovanni Michelotti with the basic chassis of the previous TR3A. The TR4 also improved passenger comfort with wind-up windows, face-level ventilation and an optional hardtop. The 2138cc engine of the late-production TR3A continued while the 1991cc engine was also made available to buyers who wanted to participate in two litre racing. When equipped with the optional overdrive, the TR4 was good for a top speed of almost 110mph. Today, the four-cylinder TR's are among the easiest of post-war classic sports cars to own and maintain being supported by a multitude of component suppliers and other specialists. This lovely UK supplied, right hand drive, 1963 Triumph TR4 with overdrive and Surrey top was the subject to a 'body off' ground up restoration a number of years ago. During the restoration they managed to retain certain original features including the white dashboard and the passenger grab handle. The current owner has informed us that it drives very well, with good oil pressure and a working overdrive unit. Looking resplendent in Masons Black with black leather seats from a Mazda MX5 and chrome wire wheels, this Triumph TR4 is supplied with a V5C registration document and an MoT test certificate which expires in May 2023. This realistically priced, quintessentially British sports car should generate significant interest both within the TR Register and wider classic car enthusiasts' community.

Lot 162

1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SL California Coupé Transmission: automaticMileage:74809The stylish Mercedes-Benz W113 was presented at the 1963 Geneva Motor Show and replaced both the expensive 300 SL and entry-level 190 SL with one medium-priced two-seat sports car. The SL was a huge success, with 48,912 sold in nine years, and is now considered a true masterpiece. The body combines the elegantly trim look of contemporary Mercedes saloons with a simple grille derived from the 300 SL. Bela Barenyi conceived the patented concave hardtop, soon called the 'Pagoda.' Like the best designs, the W113 has proven to be timeless in its appeal. We are pleased to offer an exceptionally fine example of one of the rarer designations for these cars, the 'California Coupé', with the single bench seat as designated by option '417' on its factory record. Offered with an original owner's manual, service book, V5 registration document and various bills and receipts this Pagoda style Mercedes has undergone a photographic restoration and presents extremely well in blue with a black interior. This right hand drive automatic example is a timeless blue chip ultra-rare classic and given recent sales appears to be reasonably estimated.

Lot 166

2009 Bentley Arnage T Transmission: automaticMileage:50600The Bentley Arnage 'T' laid claim to be the world's fastest saloon car in 2002 with a top speed just under 170mph. Powered by the 6.75-litre Rolls-Royce V8 engine which had been treated to what Bentley described as €œthe most thorough re-engineering of its life€, the Arnage produced a whopping 450bhp and an amazing 645 Ibs ft of torque, in no small part accredited to the twin-turbochargers. The other changes included a 'drive-by-wire' throttle to go with an electronic stability program and revised suspension. This transformed the luxury cruiser into a mile-crunching supercar rival, propelling the car to 60 miles per hour in just 5.5 seconds in consummate luxury. For 2007 model year the Garrett turbochargers were replaced with low-inertia Mitsubishi units, new camshafts and an all-new roller tappet system was fitted and the engine capacity increased to 6761cc. Peak power was now up by 11% to 500bhp with torque up to 738 Ibs ft, enabling a top speed of 180mph and the 0 - 60 speed down to 5.2 seconds. The engine was mated to a revised version of the six-speed ZF automatic gearbox found in the Bentley Continental range. This lovely, rare, top of the range 500bhp Bentley Arnage T by Mulliner was supplied new by Jack Barclay in London in 2009. It has only covered 50,600 miles from new which is confirmed by a comprehensive Bentley service history listed below, and the MoT history. Jack Barclay carried out the pre delivery inspection, then the next four services were on the 30/4/10 at 11,599 miles, 7/10/10 at 21,746 miles, 3/3/11 at 30,717 miles and 27/9/11 at 35,978 miles. The next service was carried out on the 10th June 2014 by Bentley Cambridge at 40,114 miles. From 19/5/15 at 41,347 miles Bentley Surrey have looked after the car and sold it to the current owner in June 2016 with a service at 42,632 miles. Under his ownership they have serviced the car on 4/7/17 at 45,886 miles and most recently on 6/8/21 at 50,318 miles. It has only covered 300 miles since. Recent work has included replacing both the batteries. Finished in Dark Sapphire Blue, Magnolia hide interior with Imperial Blue stitching and the dash top in Imperial Blue leather. The dashboard and door capping's in dark stained burr walnut, it is fitted with the 19-inch, five spoke, two-piece sports painted wheels. This lovely Arnage T is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in June 2023, all the hand books and service book containing the service stamps and two umbrellas kept in the boot. Often viewed as the last of the real Bentleys, this Arnage T is a best of breed car and must be seen to be fully appreciated.

Lot 168

1947 Jaguar Mk. IV Saloon Transmission: automaticMileage:10130The 1945-1948 Jaguar Mk. IV was Jaguar's first car after World War II and were essentially continuations of the 1938-39 models. Very few of these cars were built for the right hand drive markets as steel was being rationed for goods for export. The origin of the name is rather odd since, back in 1948, there had been no Mk. I to IV Jaguars; the Mk. IV designation was only given to the predecessor after the launch of the Mk. V to make identification easier. Most were four-door saloons and all shared the same body shell except for the 1.5 litre model. This was the first car to bear the legendary Jaguar name after 1945 (SS having been dropped for understandable marketing reasons after the war!) and the Mk. IV Jaguar is felt by many to be the epitome of British car design of its era. The huge chrome headlamps, sweeping wings and running boards, luxurious leather interior, French polished wood all speak of style and opulence. Manufactured at the world famous Browns Lane factory in Coventry, West Midlands in September 1947, this impressive Jaguar was distributed by the dealer M S Brooking of Perth, Western Australia. Without doubt this Jaguar can only be described as a very handsome piece of design work, with superb lines, lots of chrome work and sitting proudly on wire wheels. Finished in green and white with contrasting tan interior, this Jaguar is an imposing looking opulent sports tourer and we think frankly a very 'cool' British car of the 40s. The comprehensive history file with the car contains detailed lists and descriptions of  works done during its restoration. There are even photographs of the then owner collecting his daughter from hospital when she was born and pictures of the same girl in the car on her wedding day some 25 years later. Imported into the UK by the present vendor,  this Jaguar is registered and offered with a V5C registration document. This is a great opportunity for a collector or enthusiast to enjoy and experience the pleasure of the 1940s era and we think at a very attractive estimate.

*WITHDRAWN* DUE TO CIRCUMSTANCES BEYOND OUR CONTROL, THIS LOT HAS BEEN WITHDRAWN FROM THE AUCTION1988 Jaguar XJ-S HE Lynx Eventer Transmission: automaticMileage:80601Conceived as a luxurious and long-legged Grand Routier, the XJ-S, though by no means a small car, afforded precious little in terms of interior space: two adults and an overnight bag being about the limit if its comfortable capacity. In the absence of a factory 'estate' it was left to the Hastings-based restorer and coachbuilder Lynx to exploit the model's full potential. Lynx had every reason to be confident that such a market existed, given the success of the 'sports estate' concept in the form of the Reliant Scimitar GTE and Lancia Beta HPE. In reconfiguring the XJ-S, Lynx extended the roof, moved the rear seats back, repositioned the fuel tank and added a tailgate, thus providing increased passenger leg room and an impressive claimed 23.75cu ft of load space with the seats up, almost 42cu ft with them folded flat. Lynx's conversion added £6,950+VAT to the £21,000 list price, making Eventer ownership the privilege of a wealthy few. Even today there are few cars that combine near silent 155mph performance with the luggage capacity of a family estate.Registered new on 1st March 1988 this superb and very original example was purchased from CKL Developments of Battle, East Sussex in December 2014 at which time it was treated to an extensive respray to the paintwork, including improving and refitting the tailgate, at a cost alone in excess of £4,360. Subsequent works at the time carried out by a local Jaguar specialist included fitting new foot brake and handbrake pads; two radius arm bushes; oil, fuel and air filters; and replaced water pump, coolant hoses and drive belts. Parts and labour total some £4,500. Acquired by our vendor in 2015 the Eventer resides in his significant private collection, with in house technicians, where it is maintained and serviced regardless of cost and exercised regularly, ensuring it's in exemplary condition. Both the paintwork and interior are in excellent order showing little sign of age and the underside and engine bay are very clean. Showing a modest 80,601 miles on the odometer (at the time of photography) the XJS is offered to the market with a sizeable history file detailing previous owners, maintenance invoices, old MoT records, the UK registration document and many sundry bills. Driven to the sale from the heart of Kent, the XJS glides quietly keeping up with modern traffic and runs and drives very well indeed. This example will enhance any classic car collection and is ready to be used immediately.

2005 Porsche Porsche 911 / 997 Carrera 2S Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:49463The driving experience of linking corners whilst sitting behind the wheel of a Porsche is like nothing else on earth. The Stuttgart firm's flagship model, the 911, has evolved over the years reaching new heights of performance and quality each time. The 997-series allied all the technological improvements of its 996-series predecessor; a lighter/stiffer bodyshell, better suspension, four-valve cylinder heads and a superior HVAC system. Available in Carrera or Carrera S guises when launched, the latter boasted a more powerful 3.8 litre engine, sports exhaust, Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and 19€ wheels as standard. The 'S' also had Xenon headlights, bigger brakes and red callipers to visually set them apart. This is extremely well presented C2S arrives from just one family owner, father then son, in an extremely attractive colour combination of metallic black paintwork with a black leather interior. The hardtop roof matches the bodywork and the black mohair soft-top is in excellent order. There are alloy wheels all round and, as you would expect, some light day-to-day scuffing and all shod with Michelin Pilot Sport's tyres. The comprehensive history includes numerous service invoices including one this May totalling over £4,000 and a fresh, one-year MoT test certificate. The tombstone seats are electric and combine with the satellite navigation system and Bose sound system to form a completely sound-proof environment with roof on or fun-in-sun, top-down motoring with the soft-top stowed.. Music by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 license

1990 Alpine GTA V6 Turbo Le Mans Transmission: manualMileage:33343The Renault Alpine GTA was produced by the Renault owned French manufacturer Alpine between 1986 and 1991. It was the first car launched by Alpine under Renault ownership (though Alpine had been affiliated with Renault for many years with its earlier models using many Renault parts). It effectively updated the design of its predecessor, the Alpine A310, updating that car's silhouette with modern design features like body-integrated bumpers and a triangular 'C' pillar and with large rear windshield. It used the PRV V6 engine in a rear-engined layout with extensive use of polyester plastics and fibreglass for the body panels making it considerably lighter and quicker than rivals such as the Porsche 944. It was one of the most aerodynamic cars of its time, the normally-aspirated version achieving a world record 0.28 drag co-efficient. The PRV engine, (The PRV engine is a car petrol V6 engine that was developed jointly by Peugeot, Renault and Volvo Cars), in the normally aspirated model was identical to the version used in the Renault 25, a 2,849cc unit producing 160hp. Also available was the turbocharged model which increased the power of the PRV unit to 200hp.A rare sight on British roads, this is one of only 26 UK-market Alpine GTA V6 Le Mans produced, all of the Le Mans made for the UK were burgundy metallic as indeed this one is, with grey velour interior. The rare sports car has been in the same family ownership from new and needs complete recommissioning. It still retains its original built-in mobile phone (not currently working), original spare wheel, original built-in sound system, electric windows and its manual gearbox is mated to the infamous V6 Turbo. As a one owner car from new, this example is really in 'time warp' condition and once recommissioned, we are certain it will still be able to bring a smile to your face when driving it in the way it was supposed to when first built. A rarity which one would not often find! *Please be aware that this car is not suitable to be driven away from the Auction and should be re commissioned prior to driving.

Lot 204

2011 Porsche 911 / 997.2 Carrera 4S Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:55972The Porsche 911 shape and engineering methodology has not changed much since the very first model, the 1939 Series 64. It has proved reliable and, with the finest designers available, has grown in reputation according to developing trends around it. It has proved itself in motorsport just as it has on the French Riviera. In recent years, Porsche breathed life into a new generation of 911, the 996. 2004 saw the launch of the 997 with improved styling, larger 18€ wheels and an increase in power. The 997 Carrera 4S was, and still is, widely regarded as the greatest non-turbo version of the 911 with the four-wheel drive system providing the grip that ensured stable handling and predictable cornering. Originally registered on 6th December 2011, this Porsche Carrera 4S presents in beautiful condition and has clearly been exceptionally well cared for throughout its life on British roads. The service history is comprehensive with services carried out in December 2013, December 2015, December 2017, July 2020 and May 2022. These have been carried out by Porsche main dealers and recognised marque specialists. The service books and receipts confirm the work carried out. In August 2021 the paintwork was ceramic coated, and the wheels refurbished in October 2021. More importantly a new Porsche roof was fitted in August 2021, with the PCM maps upgraded just a few weeks earlier. Supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 4th May 2023; the terrific performance on offer combined with reliability and build quality, narrow down the choice of sports cars on offer to the Porsche 997 and this represents a superb example.

Lot 210

1957 Ford Thunderbird Convertible Transmission: manualMileage:35731The Ford Thunderbird ('T-Bird') began life in February 1953 in direct response to Chevrolet's new sports car, the Corvette, which was publicly unveiled in prototype form just a month before. Under rapid development, the Thunderbird went from drawing board to prototype in about a year, being unveiled to the public at the Detroit Auto Show on 20th February 1954. It was manufactured by Ford in the United States over eleven model generations from 1955 through to 2005. The second to fourth generation Thunderbird convertibles were similar in design to the Lincoln convertible of the time and borrowed from earlier Ford hardtop/convertible designs. While these Thunderbird models had a true convertible soft top, the top was lowered to stow in the boot area, considerably reducing available boot space when the top was down. The overall appearance was a sleek look with no trace of a convertible top at all. This lovely and rare example is presented in gleaming red with red interior. It was imported into the UK in 2015 from the USA where it had spent many years on Long Island, New York. It is fully registered here in the UK and comes with a V5 logbook. This striking American classic comes with its original 312ci, 5113 cc V8 engine which is mated to a three-speed manual gearbox with the optional overdrive (currently working intermittently). This Thunderbird was the subject of a full body restoration including re-chromed bumpers, new soft top hood, new exhaust system, new springs and shock absorbers. Total expenditure for works carried out are in excess of £18,000. All receipts for the work carried out by the present vendor are in the history file and the car comes with its original handbook.  This car really does have to be seen to appreciate what a fabulous example it is! Open top touring at its best!

Lot 213

The V12 Vanquish was indirectly replaced by the DBS after 2007. The second-generation Vanquish was introduced in 2012, based on the Aston Martin's VH platform, followed in 2017 by a 'Vanquish S' with a more powerful engine and improved aerodynamics. Presented in Quantum Silver (Q Special) metallic with complimentary Obsidian Black Caithness leather this stunning second generation Vanquish is fitted with upgraded 20 inch, 20 spoke diamond cut alloy wheels shod with contrasting red calipers, huge Carbon-Ceramic brake discs and a set of Pirelli P Zero tyres. Lot 232

1981 Datsun 280ZX Transmission: automaticMileage:50100The Nissan S130 is a sports coupé produced by Nissan in Japan from 1978 until 1983. It was sold as the Datsun 280ZX, Nissan Fairlady Z and Nissan Fairlady 280Z, depending on the market. It was the second-generation Z-car, replacing the Nissan S30 in late 1978. The 280ZX was the first time the 'by Nissan' subscript was badged alongside the Datsun logo, along with Nissan trucks. The 280ZX was Motor Trend's import car of the year for 1979. The 280ZX's body was redesigned with aerodynamics in mind, by closing in the open grille of the first-generation Z-car and through other improvements taken from wind-tunnel testing. The new design had a lower centre-of-gravity and nearly 50/50 weight distribution in both the two-seater and 2+2 designs, overall, the new body design gave better fuel economy and high-speed stability, one of the known issues from the first-generation Z-car. This example presented in Nightfire Red with tan interior trim is in stunning order throughout. The current owner knows the history or the car from as far back to 1985. Whilst running a local garage, he regularly serviced this car for the lady owner; upon her passing he enquired as to its availability but to no avail. The car then sat in storage for nearly a decade when, in 2014, he was offered to purchase the car.  Requiring some light commissioning, a service and a good clean, he took the bold decision to re- paint the car in Nightfire Red, having never been a fan of the original black. The change of colour has been the only real change since 1981 with all original wings, panels, and doors, much to the credit of the previous owner's decision to Waxoil the car early in its life. With fabulous new coachwork, you are beckoned inside by a truly time warp tan interior trim in incredible original condition befitting a car half its age. With just four previous keepers, it is offered with a new MoT test certificate, original toolkit and three keys. Probably the best example we have had the pleasure to find, viewing is highly recommended.

Lot 233

1976 Triumph Stag Transmission: automaticMileage:82098Launched in 1970, the Triumph Stag was a luxury grand tourer. Envisioned as a luxury sports car, it was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupés but for structural rigidity and to meet new American rollover standards at the time, the Stag required a B-pillar 'roll bar' hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A new 2.5 litre, V8 designed and developed by Triumph's Harry Webster was later enlarged to 2,997cc. Most Stags were fitted with a Borg Warner automatic gearbox although manual gearboxes with overdrive were available. Electric windows, power steering and power-assisted brakes were fitted as standard. Originally registered on 23rd April 1976, this Triumph presents in the colour combination of green with black interior. The engine has just been rebuilt and runs very well. It should be noted that the mileage covered on the engine since the rebuild is approximately 200 therefore a gentle period of 'running-in' must be adhered to. We are advised the automatic transmission operates as it should and that the car drives with no know faults. This well-priced and handsome Triumph Stag, with automatic gearbox, will carry you elegantly through the summer.

Lot 235

2004 Mercedes-Benz SL600 V12 Transmission: automaticMileage:49000The R230 generation of Mercedes-Benz SL Class was introduced at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show and 2001 Bologna Motor Show, replacing the R129. The R230 underwent revisions in 2006 and 2008 and was superseded by the new SL Class R231 in 2011. The SL600 is the highest output version of the non AMG SL Class models. It uses a V12 engine which produced 493bhp, thus making it a very rapid luxury sports car with 60mph achieved in just 3.6 seconds when tested by Car and Driver despite the factory stating the figure at more modest 4.7! First registered 16th April 2004, this silky smooth S600 V12 is presented in metallic black with contrasting cream leather trim. With a low mileage and just three former keepers, the last service was provided by Lookers Mercedes-Benz in July 2021 (B service) and the MoT test certificate is valid until October 2022. These S600 Mercedes-Benz are rare and with this low mileage, it is described by the current owner as in fantastic condition throughout. The V12 engines on these 5.5 litre cars, coupled to the fantastic folding hardtop, make for incredible tourers and very practical while ferociously quick.

Lot 238

2007 Porsche 911 / 997 Carrera 2S Transmission: manualMileage:54940The sixth generation of the Porsche 911 was dubbed the 997 and introduced in 2005. It retained the previous model's basic profile but drew on the 993 for detailing. In addition, the new headlights reverted to the original bug-eye design. The interior was similarly revised, with strong links to the earlier 911 interiors while at the same time looking fresh and modern. Initially, two versions of the 977 were introduced, the rear-wheel-drive Carrera and Carrera S. In late 2005 Porsche introduced the four-wheel drive versions of the 997, the Carrera 4 and Carrera 4S which were announced as 2006 models. The 997 remain a worthy model of one of the most celebrated sports cars ever produced and also received mostly positive reviews from the worldwide motoring press, with Jeremy Clarkson, a known detractor of Porsche cars, noting that the 997 will make love to your fingertips and stir your soul. This lovely Porsche 997 Carrera 2S, fitted with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox, was supplied new by Porsche Reading in October 2007. Since then, it has had three owners and has only covered 55,000 miles. The car has a full-service history with seven stamps in the service book, the first six from Porsche Guildford dated 30/9/09, 6/10/11, 1/10/13, 4/9/15, 9/3/17 and 13/3/19 the last service was carried out by Porsche specialist Eporsch on 25th April 2022. Recently the car has had the clutch replaced. It comes with a high specification including Sat Nav, Bose sound system, electric heated seats, Porsche stability management and Porsche active suspension management. Finished in grey with black leather interior this Carrera 2S is supplied with a V5 registration document, an MoT test certificate which expires in April 2023 and a complete handbook pack containing operation manuals and the stamped service book. The terrific performance on offer combined with reliability and build quality narrow down the choice of sports cars on offer to the Porsche 997 and this represents a superb example.
