Four gentlemen's vintage sports watches/wristwatches, to include a Pulsar chronograph 100m wristwatch, the black dial set with three smaller subsidiary dials and date window, black bezel, stainless steel body, with Japanese movement, no.7T62-X068 461405, on black rubber strap, a Horolux Incabloc diver's watch, the blue dial set with calendar window, with stainless steel back, on a rubber strap, a Casio quartz watch head and a Slazenger stainless steel fashion watch with extra strap links (4). CONDITION REPORT At the time of cataloguing, only the Horolux appears to be in going order, however this is no guarantee of working order. The others may just need replacement batteries.

AN HISTORICALLY INTERESTING BOOKCASE BUILT FOR THE ADMIRAL’S CABIN OF H.M.S. VINDICTIVE, 1899 AND TRANSFERRED TO THE BATTLESHIP CONQUEROR 1912 constructed in mahogany in two sections, the upper bookcase with bevelled glass doors, adjustable shelving, and break arch pediment with Vindictive’s crest, secured to base with drawers inscribed on the underside Admirals Bookcase 500, cupboards with tray slides, the back inscribed in chalk Admirals Cabin, overall measurements – 88 x 53 x 20½in. (223.5 x 134.5 x 52cm.)Provenance: Percy Duncan, Shipwright, Chatham Dock Yard, from Upnor Shipbreaking Co., 1923, and thence by descent.Footnote: An 'Arrogant' Class cruiser commissioned in 1900, by 1912 Vindictive was already out of date and assigned as tender to H.M.S. Vernon and it seems that some of her interior components were not wasted. The 22,200-ton super-Dreadnought Conqueror was nearing completion at Wm Beardmore's yard at Dalmuir, but as she was still not formally named, her yard number '500' was used for her components and what was a captain's bookcase aboard Vindictive was promoted to an admiral's aboard Conqueror, interestingly no attempt seems to have been made to update the attractive break-arch pediment which still sports the unofficial badge for Vindictive. Conqueror formed part of the Grand Fleet based at Scapa Flow and took part at the Battle of Jutland, after the war she was sold for breaking under terms of the Washington Treaty. Vindictive enjoyed her greatest moment of fame in the Zeebrugge Raid, and shortly after sunk as a blockship in the second Ostend Raid - her bow is still preserved in Ostend as a memorial.
