EDINBURGH 1925-HEARTS/HIBS Excellent item, a bound volume for the calendar year 1925 of the Edinburgh Sports Dispatch, every issue during the year bound in leather and claret cloth with a gilt inscription on spine "Sports Dispatch Jan - Dec 1925". Extensive match reports on the Edinburgh clubs, Hearts, Hibs, Leith, St Bernard's etc but also reports on other games in all the Scottish Divisions plus English games and other sports especially rugby and in summer cricket and golf were covered in detail. Two issues for each Saturday, the Green Special which included classified results and match reports until half time in detail and the Final Edition which had full match reports and more pages as more games were covered. Excellent item for the Hearts or Hibs collector. First few pages have one or two tears but condition is at least generally good thereafter and the tears are not a big problem in the early issues, it just means take a little care turning the pages. Intriguing for a mere Englishman to see the names of some of the Scottish teams who no longer appear in the Scottish League and the same for the English Leagues to a certain extent with a good number of clubs no longer members. The match reports are excellent, especially for the Edinburgh clubs but also with Scotland games and leading rugby clubs. Cover is a little scuffed but is still in relatively good condition. Fair-generally good
