Ballater - a Scottish provincial silver mounted smoky quartz specimen William Robb, marked ROBB, BLTR, formed as a large specimen of smoky quarts in rough state with one polished side, set onto a wooden plinth and bound by a silver band with inscription, together with a framed pair of photographs titled `top of Loch na Gar, August 11 188, Height 3786 Ft` Notes: The engraved band in two sections reads `Oak from ancient drawbridge/ Loch Kinord`, "Loch-Na-Gar 3786 Ft 11 Augt 1898"` . This piece represents a tangible and poignant memento of the Victorian love affair with the Ballater and Royal Deeside area and the outdoor sports it readily provided.
