Sir William Russell Flint, R.A. (1880-1969), Cecilia: reading a paper on which is written “With good wishes for Christmas and New Year from WRF”, inscribed on the reverse ‘Cecilia’ model by Sir W Russell Flint R.R., given to CAH & PCHG Chritsmas 1961’, watercolour, 13.5 x 10cm. Footnote: Cecilia Green (1931-2003) was a favourite model of WRF appearing in many of his paintings in roles which varied from Spanish gypsy to cloistered nun. Her nude poses - more aesthetic than erotic - were and remain, famous. Provenance: A gift from the artist to his friend and fellow artist Cecil Arthur Hunt, R.W.S.,(1873-1965). Thence by family descent.
