A 1956 Norton Model 7 Dominator, registration number 892 YUB, silver and black. Introduced to the general public at the 1948 Earls Court Show, the Model 7 Dominator was Norton's first twin engine motorcycle of the modern post war era. The early versions featured the plunger frame with roadholder front forks. From late 1952 the Dominator acquired the swing arm frame. In 1954 an improved eight inch front brake was fitted and an aluminium cylinder head replaced the old cast iron item. The Model 7 would then remain basically unchanged until 1956 when the featherbed frame Model 88 became available.
