Berger, Heinz and Riva for de Sede - A mid 1970's modular settee, model DS600 'Non Stop', the twenty-five brown leather elements of modular design, approximate total length 600 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Like many luxury leather goods brands, furniture-manufacturing company de Sede started out as a saddle-making atelier. Based in Klingnau—located in northern Switzerland near the German border—the company traces its high-end furniture production back to 1965, when the original family-run business incorporated and began to collaborate with international designers on the creation of handmade, premium-leather-clad chairs, lounges, and sofas. Over the years, de Sede’s product offering has expanded to include tables, beds, and more.*****Condition report - Overall this is in very good condition. It measures 73cm high, with a seat height of 43cm and a depth of 97cm. The leather upholstery has typical faint scuffs/scratches and watermarks, as well as some mildew on the surface. There do not appear to be any rips or tears. The settee is currently in five seperate sections in our saleroom. It is completely modular and numerous pieces of furniture can be arranged by splitting up the seperate parts by removing the bolts. All of the necessary bolts are present although one is a later replacement. The sections are surprisingly lightweight and can be rearranged easily. This is a most-impressive piece of furniture and a very rare find indeed. Please see the extensive additional images which help to show the scale and potential of this wonderful and rare item.
