Rare 2nd Model Railway (Bahnschutz) Officers Dress Dagger with Original Deluxe Hanging Straps, very nice example of this pattern of dress dagger worn by Railway officials during the Third Reich. Aluminium fittings retaining much of the original silver overlay finish. Black twist handle with ball top pommel having stylised swastika to the centre. Cross guard with the winged wheel insignia to the centre. Housed in the original scabbard with two ring mounts for the hanging straps. Blade remains in near mint condition with Paul Weyersberg & Co Solingen makers trade mark to the base. Much of the original cross graining remains to the blade. Black velvet backed cloth hanging straps with the more unusual square buckle fittings, aluminium top fitting and small clips marked to the reverse DRGM and M5/10. Straps match the condition of the dagger perfectly. This dagger set was brought home after WW2 as a souvenir by the vendors neighbour.
