1998 Kawasaki ZX900-C1 Transmission: manualMileage:The eagle eye-bike enthusiasts will note that this Kawasaki is a short wheelbase model after an incident with a tree. It is being sold for spares as the major components appear to be intact. It was last MoT'd on 18th July 2014 with a mileage reading of 12,611. The bike is not registered on HPI's condition register and is being sold with a V5 registration document.
1965 Ford Cortina Mk. I Transmission: manualMileage:3500The Cortina was Ford's mass-market compact car and sold extremely well. It was produced in five generations: the Mk. I through to the Mk. V, although officially the last one was called the Cortina 80. With variants of the Cortina reaching sales of over one million, each successive model proved more popular than its predecessor. Such was its fame in the UK, that the BBC Two documentary series Arena once devoted an entire programme to the car and its enthusiasts. In response to the huge success of the Mini, Ford responded not with a small car but with a larger family offering which they could sell in large numbers. This example was registered new on 3rd September 1965 and has had just two owners from new. Acquired by the current vendor in 2006 who set about restoring the Cortina to fast road/track specification. During the restoration a Vulcan engineering 2100 pinto engine was fitted, coupled to a type 9 five-speed gearbox. The Cortina was also treated to a rack and pinion conversion, Ford Capri single leaf springs, a FR33 high lift Kent camshaft, new cambelt, new water pump and coil overs. Sitting proudly on Lotus Cortina 5.5J steel wheels, the bodyshell includes a well fitted roll cage and the interior includes a Lotus dashboard and clocks. Presented in blue and orange livery the Cortina looks superb and turns heads wherever it goes. A fun and rather quick example we are sure this example, in its fast road specification, will be huge amounts of fun for the new owner at a very modest outlay.
The W124 is considered to be the last of the ‘million mile Mercedes’. Most engines and running gear were carried over from the previous model, but there were quite a few improvements. Multi-link independent rear suspension was a great improvement, and the whole car felt like a much more modern driving experience. The W124 had advanced crash protection, a bodyshell structure that crumpled progressively for example, while active safety was advanced thanks to the adoption of anti-lock braking as standard in the all the cars, being progressively introduced across the range.Originally registered on 16th November 1989, this W124 estate presents very well in Smoke Silver, which is complemented by black fabric upholstery. The car has been exceptionally well cared for in recent years with over £8,000 in invoices from the well-known Mercedes-Benz specialist John Haynes. We are advised the M102 2.3 litre engine runs well and the automatic transmission operates smoothly and efficiently. Supplied with a V5 registration document together with a current MoT test certificate valid until 21st February 2023, this very useable and versatile 230TE was an instant success and became the industry benchmark for reliability and engineering. The ample boot space, together with the folding rear seat combine to making this one of the largest load spaces available whilst still travelling in comfort.Significant service historyImpressive condition
1986 BMW 320i Transmission: automaticMileage:116720The BMW 3-series is a compact executive car manufactured since May 1975. It has been produced in six different generations and in five different body styles. It is BMW's best-selling model, accounting for around 30% of the BMW brand annual total sales and has won numerous awards throughout its history. The E30 was sold from 1982 to 1991 in saloon form and then until 1993 in convertible format. Both four-cylinder and six-cylinder petrol engines were used with a six-cylinder diesel added in 1985. In 1987, the first all-wheel drive 3-series was produced called the 325iX. The E30's introductory price was nearly double that of the E21 just seven years earlier. Initially released as a two-door coupé, the four-door saloon body style was added to the 3-series line up in 1984. Presented in its original bronze colour scheme, this 320i Saloon with automatic transmission presents very well and would be best described as a nice original unmolested example. We are advised the car drives very well and starts on the button. It shows no visible signs of rust. There is evidence of paint work, though bearing in mind the car is 35 years old, that is to be expected. It retains the original brown tinted glass all round with accompanying BMW stamp, full tool kit and hubcaps as new. With two former keepers, both of whom are from the same family. This father and son owned example boasts the original service book with stamps, coupled to invoices for work carried out over the last 10 years, three keys and all paperwork including v5 registration documents alongside a MoT test certificate until May 2023. Having been well maintained and well cared for, this is a great opportunity for a collector or enthusiast to own such a well-preserved car, with early E30 saloons being difficult to come by.Guide Price £5,000 - £7,000
2005 Mercedes-Benz SL500 Transmission: automaticMileage:83677With a 0-60mph time of six seconds, the 4973cc, R129 Mercedes-Benz SL500 carried on the tradition of the fast and reliable grand touring convertible. A fully operating electric hood, windows, door mirrors and seats made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The fifth generation SL was in production between 2002 and 2008 and featured the all-new retractable hardtop - an important feature for those British showers! Mercedes-Benz followers were impressed with the stability of the car with the hardtop in place and the ease at which they could remove it. Such was its success; the SL is still one of the leading cars in the Mercedes-Benz range. This car features the very capable 5.0 litre 302bhp V8 powerplant mated to a standard automatic gearbox. Presented in black with cream leather trim, this SL500 was first registered 9th March 2005. Purchased from a main dealership by our vendor and owned ever since, this example has been well maintained. Showing 83,677 miles on the odometer it is fitted with a Sat Nav, electric front seats, active body control and a Bose sound system. The history files contain invoices, previous Mot records, the UK registration document and a MoT test certificate valid until December 2022.The SL500 model is becoming increasingly sought after and this example is not to be overlooked. We are sure this well-presented Mercedes-Benz will be enjoyed by the new owner in the coming months!
2005 Alfa Romeo 147 GTATransmission: manualMileage:39,7502005 Alfa Romeo 147 GTA: Launched in 2002 as the top of the range hatchback model for Alfa Romeo, the GTA is powered by the classic Busso 3.2 litre 24 valve V6. Said to produce some 247bhp it gave a top speed of circa 153mph. Characterised by wider arches, Teledial 17-inch alloys and a more aggressive grille design, most examples had six-speed manual transmission whilst a small number featured the Selespeed automated manual system. In total, 5,029 147 GTAs were built, 1,004 of which were Selespeeds. This original UK manual example is presented in metallic silver. It was first registered in March 2005 and has just three former keepers. Its most recent service was by CG Motortech in Milton Keynes in Sept 2021. This car comes with two keys and is fitted with a Clifford Alarm system, OZ Racing 19” Ultraleggera wheels and the seats are upgraded to OMP Strada reclining bucket seats. With the current mileage at just 39,750 miles and having had very few owners this is a great find.
2007 Subaru Impreza WRX STi Pro-DriveTransmission: manualMileage:72,600 The WRX (World Rally eXperimental) flat-four engine is turbocharged and develops around 235bhp in initial trim. Relatively modest by today’s standards but anything but in-period, and its lively engine is mated to a manual gearbox and a sophisticated four-wheel-drive system. A relatively lightweight car, it goes like stink and took the motoring world by storm. Rally win followed rally win - and the Brits wanted a piece of the action, importing both saloon and hatchback variants by the container load. The second-generation cars, available from 2000, officially boasted between 261bhp and 276bhp depending on the model, enough to propel the 1,360kg Impreza to a top speed of over 150mph via a 0-62mph time of under five seconds. Rallying legends such as Colin McRae and Richard Burns took the already potent Impreza STi and turned it into an iconic machine, the likes of which we will probably never see again. On a performance-per-pound basis they were extraordinarily cheap when they were new, and a series of upgrades and model changes that encouraged owners to change their cars more frequently than they might otherwise have done. Originally registered on 1st September 2007 this Impreza has been very well cared for. The silver coachwork is in very good order as is the black leather interior. The comprehensive history folder includes the certificate and invoice for the Prodrive Pack in 2007 when the car was only a month old. Also present in the history folder is every previous MoT certificate. A Cat 1 alarm system is fitted (with PIN) and this Subaru comes with the original handbooks and service book with 11 stamps, five of which are by Subaru main dealers. Coil over suspension and a performance exhaust system ensure this is a car that not only handles well but sounds superb. Supplied with a current V5 registration document, a current MoT test certificate valid until 10th April 2023 and two sets of keys. With only three former keepers, this very well-presented Subaru Impreza WRX STi is a great car to drive.
2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser Transmission: automaticMileage:60190The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a retro-styled mid-size SUV produced by Toyota since 2006. Introduced as a concept car at the January 2003 North American International Auto Show, the FJ Cruiser was approved for production after positive consumer response and debuted at the January 2005 North American International Auto Show in final production form. It features a short wheelbase, stocky frame, and grille-headlight arrangement much like the original FJ40. Other throwback design cues include a nearly vertical windshield with three windshield wipers for maximum surface area coverage. The FJ's body features rear opening access doors that give a unique look to the SUV. Special high-strength steel was used to give the vehicle side impact protection without the need for a door pillar. ”ŠThe interior of the FJ features many design elements focused on enhancing off-road practicality. All interior surfaces are covered with washable rubber materials to aid in fast cleanup after heavy outdoor use. The FJ also incorporates oversized controls to aid drivers with gloved hands. The three-gauge cluster (with compass, temperature, and inclinometer) as well as the 120 V rear outlet were carried over from the FJ Cruiser concept vehicle as options on the final production model. The Final Edition of the FJ Cruiser went on sale in Japan on 12 September 2017. Sales of the FJ Cruiser were discontinued there on 31 January 2018.This rare and striking example from Japan, is presented in metallic grey with a white roof and has a black faux leather interior. It is fitted with automatic transmission mated to its six-cylinder 4.0 litre engine, permanent four-wheel drive, air conditioning, cruise control, electric windows, diff lock. This SUV is in very good condition throughout and is a rare sight on the UK roads. A superb utility vehicle with versatility of use.
1998 MG FTransmission: manualMileage:60,470 The MGF was the first new model designed as an MG since the MGB that was produced from 1962 to 1980. It was initially designed by the Rover Group during the period it was owned by British Aerospace and was brought to market after the business had been sold to the German car manufacturer BMW. It was powered by a 1.8 Litre K-Series 16-valve engine, the basic having 118 bhp while the more powerful VVC (variable valve control) had 143 bhp. Steve Harper of MGA Developments produced the initial design concept in January 1991 having been inspired by the Jaguar XJR-15 and the Ferrari 250LM, before Rover's in house design team refined the concept under the leadership of Gerry McGovern. An interesting feature of the F was its Hydragas suspension, a system employing interconnected fluid and gas displacers which provided a surprisingly compliant ride but which could be tuned to provide excellent handling characteristics. This MGF was originally registered on 21st November 1998 and has clearly been well cared for. It was off the road from 2019 and has been recently recommissioned by the vendor. A good service history accompanies this MGF and it is thought the odometer reading of 60,470 is correct, although not warranted. Looking resplendent in the colour combination of green with black interior, this MGF is supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 7th August 2023 together with a hardtop. A great fun car for a modest outlay.
1958 Austin Healey 100-6 Transmission: manualMileage:34099Introduced for 1956, the Austin Healey 100/6 represented the most radical step forward in the development of the 'Big Healey'. Despite its initial success, sales of the original Austin Healey 100 had begun to decline by the mid 1950's and so the model was revamped as the 100/6 using the BMC 2.6 litre C-Series six-cylinder engine replacing the four-cylinder Austin Atlantic engine. This six-cylinder, pushrod engine produced 102bhp, twelve horsepower more than its predecessor, though the inevitable weight gain meant that there was little improvement in performance, the cars top speed remaining around 103mph. At the same time, the wheelbase was increased by two inches from 7' 6” to 7' 8”, which enabled the inclusion of two seats in the rear of the BN4 variant. Although stylistically very similar to the earlier model the 100/6 was nevertheless easily distinguishable by its 'crinkle' radiator grille and the bonnet top air intake. In 1957, an improved engine became available and this 117bhp unit was fitted to all the newly introduced BN6 two-seater roadsters. Top speed improved to 111mph and 1.7 seconds was cut from the 0-60mph time. One of only 118 right hand drive cars built for the home market, this rare two-seater 100/6 left the factory on 13th June 1958 for its destination, Marshalls Limited in Cambridge. Not to be confused with a standard 100/6, MSV 500 was rebuilt by leading Healey race preparers Denis Welch Motorsport in the mid 1980's with an aluminium body that had been custom made for Healey racer and collector Andrew Usher along with a period hardtop, as well as a mohair soft top hood, rare and extremely comfortable period style lightweight 100S Le Mans style seats and a Denis Welch Stage 3 fast road blueprinted engine that included; a lightened and balanced flywheel, gas flowed cylinder head, forged pistons, Denis Welch inlet and exhaust manifold, high flow aluminium radiator, fully baffled competition works style sump, competition clutch, side exhaust and 2” competition SU carburettors. Financial issues reportedly forced Mr. Usher to sell the car shortly after its rebuild to a relative of Denis Welch's who kept the car for the next 26 years, having it looked after throughout by Denis Welch. Given its specification, the car could easily be adapted to race with only a few safety items to be incorporated. Indeed, the engine is essentially already race ready, making this car eligible for a number of historic events both on road and track.Supplied with a V5 registration document, BMI Heritage Certificate, original chassis plate, file of receipts and a MoT test certificate valid until August 2023. With an estimated 175bhp on tap and in a lightweight aluminium bodied car, this wonderful and unique Healey is sure to impress anyone lucky enough to take it for a drive.
2000 Mercedes-Benz G500 ex-Eric ClaptonTransmission: automaticMileage: 94,000 The Mercedes-Benz G-Class or G-Wagen, short for Geländewagen (or cross-country vehicle), is a four-wheel drive vehicle/sport utility vehicle and characterised by its boxy styling and body-on-frame construction. It utilizes three fully locking differentials, one of the few vehicles to have such a feature. Originally developed as a military vehicle and offered as a civilian version in 1979, it proved so competent and popular that demand has ensured it is still in production today. Demand came from all over the world with such patronage as the Vatican and the, now famous, series of 'Popemobiles' to use on the Paris-Dakar Rally and many exploratory trips including one to Siberia, the worlds coldest region and driving a standard model traveling 19,000km without breakdown in temperatures as low as -63°F.Presented in brilliant silver with black leather trim, this desirable G500 was initially registered to Eric Clapton in September 2000 in Antigua, with the purpose to be used we are informed at his famous Crossroads rehab on the Caribbean Island. The G500 was infact one of three gifted to him by Mercedes-Benz. The purpose of the car was, we believe, to collect the rich and famous from the private airfield and chauffeur them to the Willoughby Bay Centre in luxury.Documentation including the Antigua and Barbuda registration certificates with Mr Clapton’s name can be found within the history file. Remaining in the ownership of the ‘Slowhand’ until 2019. Then our vendor purchased and returned the car back to the UK; where it has been serviced, re commissioned including a recent new fuel pump, starter motor and steering damper, and obtained a UK V5 and MoT test certificate until August 2023.With rugged good looks and a proven reputation for both on and off-road driving, this comes with a wealth of luxury items that easily brings this model up to date with other comparable offerings. Such as: factory air conditioning, heated seats front and rear, remote central locking, electric heated mirrors, rear factory parking sensors and privacy glass. A new eight speaker Alpine sound system with amplifier has been fitted and it sits on matching Michelin LTX tyres. Couple with the added bonus of such celebrity ownership, let alone the list of famous celebrities that this car may have transported such as Britney Spears, Whitney Houston, Colin Farrell and Billy Joel to name a few this will surely be a popular example.Previously owned by Eric ClaptonDesirable 500 petrol engine

1969 Porsche 911E FIA Race Car Transmission: manualMileage:82764The original 911 series is often cited as the most successful competition car ever, especially when its variations are included; namely the powerful 911 derived 935 which won Le Mans as well as other major sports cars races. The original Porsche 911 with its famous and distinctive design was mechanically notable for being rear-engine and air-cooled. Production would run from Autumn 1963 until 1989. For the 1969 model-year 'B-series' 911, Porsche lengthened the wheelbase by 57mm and began manufacturing the engine cases in magnesium to save approximately 10kgs hung over the rear wheels and replaced the single battery with two smaller batteries mounted either side of the front compartment improving weight distribution throughout the car. They achieved their goal, improving the handling and increased performance with a new Bosch mechanical fuel injection system standard on the 911E and 911S models.Although first registered in July of 1970, this 911E was actually manufactured in 1969 and was supplied with the new Bosch mechanical fuel injection system. Built into a race car from the ground up over a four-year period from 2008 by highly regarded and renowned Porsche 911 specialist Steve Monk of Bodywerks, the car is a high-quality example with front running capability. The quality of Monk's work can be seen throughout the car, with his signature attention to detail ever present. Running on an original set of Fuchs alloy wheels, sprung by Bilstein dampers and mounted on Elephant solid bushes, this car is not the usual tired racer and is ready to win straight away. The race engine was built to a high specification with Jonny Middleston cylinder heads, Kent race camshafts, lightened flywheel, 215mm clutch, billet conrods and competition pistons. Included in the file are also Dyno sheets, the most recent of which showing maximum engine power of 199.2bhp, (on the race engine).Supplied with a UK V5C registration document, file of receipts, FIA papers, photographic record of the build and the original rebuilt engine. A rare opportunity to own a road registered and very capable race car, built by the best, at a fraction of the price it would cost to build today.
1987 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:50000Mercedes-Benz first introduced an SL model in 1954 following an original idea by American importer, Max Hoffman who foresaw a market for a car tailored to affluent Americans in the booming post-war United States. It has remained in production, in various guises and model years in the seven decades since then, making the SL the second longest single series ever produced by the German manufacturer. This very desirable face lift 500 SL is presented in Smoke Silver with beige leather trim and was first registered on the 5th June 1987. A low mileage example of the flagship R107 model from the latter years of production, featuring an array of modern conveniences as standard. These include cruise control, electric windows, and heated seats to name only a few. This car has had few owners since it was new, all of whom have cared for the car well utilising specialists to service and maintain the vehicle. Between 2012 and 2014 it was serviced by the country's leading SL specialist the SLHOP and recently it has been inspected and maintained by them prior to this listing. Fitted with an upgraded audio system, anti-theft system and boasting the optional rear seats. We are certain that with minor investment, it could be taken to collector grade, but equally could be a fantastic drivers example for years to come especially given the leading specialists that have been commissioned to care for it.
1989 Bentley Turbo R Transmission: automaticMileage:113134The Bentley Turbo R was a high-performance model produced from 1985 to 1997 with a total of 7,230 built in the 12 year production period. The 'R' stood for 'Roadholding', to set it apart from its predecessor, the Mulsanne and also sported a revised suspension with wider tyres on alloy wheels; a first for a Bentley. The suspension changes, although seemingly subtle, transformed the soft and less than well-controlled ride of the Mulsanne into that of a real performer. This was achieved by increasing the anti-roll bar rates in the front and rear and by increasing the damping. A Panhard rod to anchor the rear suspension was also introduced, reducing side-to-side movement in corners. The Turbo R was sold alongside the Mulsanne Turbo for a short time although the Mulsanne was taken out of production in 1985. For the 1987 model year, the Turbo R received anti-lock brakes and Bosch fuel injection replacing the Solex carburettors.Supplied originally by H R Owen on 13th April 1989, this Bentley Turbo R is finished in Balmoral Green with Parchment interior piped in green. The car is supplied with the original service books and spare keys together with a V5 document and a current MoT test certificate valid until 25th April 2023. The history file contains a host of service invoices. The exceedingly comfortable seats, with superb ergonomics for the driver, combine to make this a magnificent vehicle to drive or to be a passenger, these magnificent machines were one of the finest ever manufactured at Crewe and are fast becoming recognised as such. Offered for sale without reserve
1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL 'Pagoda' Transmission: automaticMileage:59035In 1963, Mercedes-Benz debuted an all-new roadster to replace the 190 SL and 300 SL - the 230 SL. The 230 SL 'Pagoda' was a stunning Paul Bracq designed two-seat convertible that followed Mercedes' new design language, featuring crisp lines and upright headlights. To save on weight, the bonnet, door-skins, boot lid, and tonneau cover were all composed of aluminium. The nickname 'Pagoda' was quickly adopted thanks to the slightly concave roof on the optional removable hardtop that resembled a pagoda roof. In 1967, Mercedes introduced the third and final iteration of the 'Pagoda', the 280 SL, and it then became apparent that some cars don't change, they just get better. The 280 featured the same modified W111 chassis with a rear swing axle and independent front suspension and four-wheel disc brakes. Power came from a 2.8 litre version of Mercedes inline-six and used Bosch fuel injection. A charming model with capable handling and braking thanks to its suspension and all-wheel disc brakes. These roadsters also have one of the most beautiful bodies produced in the 1960s. Thanks to their robust inline-six and their luxurious Mercedes interior, they are wonderful cars to be driven and enjoyed. This exceptional, left hand drive, 1969 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL 'Pagoda' was imported from the United States in 2012 as a completely rust-free example and fitted with period air conditioning. It was registered in the UK in October of the same year with an odometer reading of 55,454 miles, it was sold to the current owner a year later. He used it for a couple of years before putting the car away in storage with current mileage on the clock. The car has just had a complete, ground-up restoration by classic and custom car specialists Hot Rod Technologies based in Hayes, Middlesex. Whilst in restoration the car was brought up to European specification, this included removing the side marker lamps and fitting European style headlights. Finished in the fetching original colour blue, code number 903 with matching hardtop, new dark blue soft top roof and cream leather interior. This lovely Mercedes-Benz 'Pagoda' is supplied with a V5 registration document and photographs showing the restoration. These Pagodas are always a pleasure to drive, particularly in good weather when the roof is down and the smooth six-cylinder engine can be enjoyed.https://youtu.be/AHB4cOarPUg
1995 Nissan Skyline GT R33 Transmission: manualMileage:16928 The R33 incarnation of the GT-R is still a pure sports car experience, but now aided by some of the most revolutionary handling technology to influence modern performance driving. The new R33 Skyline GT-R was launched in January 1995 with a base GT-R and the V Spec model which offered a sportier suspension set-up resulting in lower ground clearance, and also featured the newer ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel drive system, which included an Active Limited-Slip Differential. At the heart of the V-spec was the ATTESA-ETS Pro Electronic Torque Split System which, at the time, made it arguably the most technologically advanced production car in the world. The system was conceived in the 1990s for the JTCC to enable some 600bhp to be fed through the wheels and on to the racetrack efficiently. The V Spec also featured an active LSD on the rear axle which further aided traction by calculating the optimum torque-split between the left and right rear wheels, variable from fully locked to totally free. Working along with ATTESA-ETS PRO, is the SUPER HICAS rear-wheel steering. This uses a series of sensors to monitor vehicle motion, rate of turn and the driver's action on the steering wheel. Complex software then compares this information to the computer predictions of the car's ideal turning characteristics, adjusting the angle of the rear wheels to reflect the driver's intentions. The result of this type of technology? Neutral steering and unrivalled cornering capabilities. The engine in the R33 was nearly identical to the previous R32 using the same turbochargers and the same specification for the manual gearbox, although the synchros were made to be stronger. The increased body rigidity and improved handling potential necessitated several specially designed cross members being incorporated into the monocoque and extra torsion bars were added to the multi-link suspension to further enhance stability. Working closely with Bridgestone technicians to perfect the Potenza tyres, Nissan put the prototype R33 GT-R through its paces in all weathers at the notorious Nürburgring, earning them a daring reputation amongst other manufacturers. To equalise front/rear weight distribution, the bonnet and front wings were made of aluminium instead of steel and the battery was fitted at the base of the car's boot, lowering the centre of gravity and further improving handling. The braking system was designed by Italy's famous Brembo Spa, suppliers to many of the world's Formula 1 teams at this time. Four-piston calipers were fitted on the front with two-piston calipers on the rear to bite into the discs with a diamond shaped ventilation bores which increased the surface area to aid heat dissipation. This, Japanese imported, superb example of the fearsome Skyline is presented in Midnight Purple with grey/blue cloth interior. It is powered by the mighty 2.5 six cylinder turbocharged engine. Inside the Skyline GT-R, form followed function. Mono-form bucket seats with integrated headrests that are lightweight yet immensely tough provide the ideal driving position and supported the body against the G-forces endured under hard acceleration and cornering. The car comes with a full service history and has recently had its timing belt and auxiliary belts changed as well as having new wheels and tyres fitted also. Since being imported from Japan in 1999, the car has only had one UK owner and has been beautifully kept in this time having been dry stored with air conditioning, from then until today. This Skyline is in superb condition throughout and will come to auction with a new MoT. A true 'Wolf in sheep's clothing'! The odometer is in kilometers but translated it reads 16,928 miles. To note, the same model has just been sold in the USA for circa £175,000.
2011 Piaggio Vespa PX125 Transmission: manualMileage:13136The Vespa has evolved from a single model motor scooter manufactured in 1946 by Piaggio & Co. of Pontedera, Italy. Designed by Renzo Spolti and Vittorio Casini and known as the MP5 (Moto Piaggio no.5). From its inception the Vespa scooter has been known for its painted, pressed steel unibody, which combines a complete cowling for the engine, a flat floorboard and a prominent front fairing. Upon seeing this new design for the first time, Enrico Piaggio exclaimed 'Sembra una Vespa!' (It resembles a wasp). The new scooter had been named. This iconic design has featured in displays at the Guggenheim in New York and the Pompidou centre in Paris. This scooter evokes the heady, sharp suited days of the 60's Mod era. This scooter has been wrapped to give a chrome effect and fitted with the mirrors and flag detailing of a classic Brighton cruiser. Purchased by a private collector in 2018, it has driven one mile since, but has been maintained 'in house' and we are informed that it starts and runs well.We believe that this Vespa featured in Episode Two of the first series of the Simon Callow television drama, The Rebel. We are advised by the HPI check that this scooter is listed as a category C insurance loss and is supplied with a V5 registration document. There is no better way to take a trip down memory lane than on this modern version of a motoring and design icon.
2003 Porsche 911/996 Carrera Targa Transmission: manualMileage:107622The 996 is the internal designation for the 911 model manufactured from 1997 until 2006. It was replaced by the 997 in 2004. The 996 had little in common with its predecessor, with the first all new chassis platform since the original 911 and a new water-cooled engine. Technically, it was a major change, a complete breakthrough from the original car other than the overall layout. At its debut, the 996 featured the most significant change from the classic 911 series: a water-cooled engine replacing the previously air-cooled engine. Progressively stringent emissions and noise regulations, environmental concerns, a higher expectation for refinement and the need for a high-performance four valve per cylinder engine made the switch necessary. Other major changes include a completely new platform having a sleeker body with a more raked windshield, and a re-designed interior along with new 'fried egg' shaped headlamps instead of previous 'bug eye' headlamps. This example of the 996 Carrera Targa is both owned and the daily driver of the proprietor of Porsche Specialists Porsche Torque. As such this car has been maintained regardless of cost and fastidiously since he purchased from one of his customers in early 2019. Originally registered March 2003, this car boasts just four former keepers. From new, the 996 was optioned with Bose sound system, Carrera wheels, PSM, Telephone Module and Parking Assistance - this equates to £3,258 of extras to the original list price of £61,550. In our vendor's stewardship the car has been serviced annually, most recently in August this year. It has had new rads and condensers, new shock absorbers and suspension mounts all round including uprated suspension and a sports exhaust. Treated to a new MoT certificate, what better 911 to buy than the personal car of a specialist who knows of all and any possible requirements for the iconic sports car.
1979 Renault 5 Gordini Mk. ITransmission: manual The Renault 5 Alpine was one of the first hot-hatches, launched in 1976 - going on sale two months before the original Volkswagen Golf GTI. The right-hand drive version was shown at the British Motor Show in 1978 and was officially on sale from 4 April 1979 in the UK and was sold as the Renault 5 Gordini because Chrysler Europe already had the rights to the name "Alpine" in the UK. UK launch price was £4149, nearly a third more than the previous top model the TS at £3187, showing the considerable changes to the car over the 64PS TS which could not reach 100 mph compared to the 93PS Gordini which could reach 110 mph. The 1.4 L OHV engine, mated to a five-speed gearbox, was based on the Renault "Sierra" pushrod engine, but having a crossflow cylinder head with hemispherical combustion chambers and developed 92 hp, twice as much as a standard 1108 cc Renault 5. The larger engine and its various performance parts meant that the spare wheel could no longer fit there and was relocated to the boot/trunk. The Alpine could be identified by special alloy wheels and front fog lights and was equipped with stiffened suspension, but still retaining the torsion bar at the rear with added anti-roll bars. Renault quoted a top speed of 110 mph and tested in the July 1979 issue of UK magazine CAR, it achieved a 0-60 mph in 9.7 seconds.First registered 8th August 1979, this rare Silver Mk I Gordini is likely one of the earliest examples of a Mk I still in existence in the UK. Purchased in 2015 complete and as a good runner it was owned by two brothers who took great pride in their cars and loved this 5 dearly. They maintained the car- which could outperform a turbo car in certain situations- impeccably. The seats are very rare, in the original fabric and in fantastic condition, having spent much of their lives having been protected by special seat covers made to protect them and complement the original interior. As with all old Renault 5s it had some bodywork imperfections, therefore our vendor decided to sympathetically restore it, and spent many hours of the restoration determined to keep this car as original as possible- including a sympathetic respray. The decals have been reproduced from originals, wheels have been refurbished and diamond cut, new tyres fitted and it presents as a time warp example. Having been in storage since the restoration was completed and not driven on the road since, it is therefore stunning; but with this in mind, the car would benefit from a check over before it was driven on the road in anger. Simply put, find another… and then find another in this condition with thousands spent in a sympathetic restoration. A true collectors dream and incredibly rare on these shores. Why waste your time with a Mini, when you could have Gordini?Restored sympatheticallyIncredibly rare UK supplied Mk I
1972 AC Aceca Cobra Coupé Transmission: manualMileage:11500Classic cars and, in particular, sports cars evolve continually. Brakes keep up with power; bodywork keeps up with performance and tyres have to keep the whole lot on the road. Some cars just get it right first time and so it was with the AC Ace. The first incarnation being AC engined but latterly Bristol and Ford. It was its slippery shape and already impressive performance that gave Carroll Shelby the idea to import 100 cars and shoehorn V8 units under the bonnet. The first 75 had 260ci power plants with the latter 289ci units culminating in the Mk. III 427SC monsters. In addition to this line up however, there is the Aceca with beautifully sculptured bodywork by John Tojeiro and subsequently refined by Allan Turner. AC cars contracted Tojeiro to design the AC Ace, which was loosely based around his earlier, highly successful, Tojeiro/Bristol sports racing car, this proved popular on both road and track in the UK and abroad. Trevor Legate, author of Cobra: 'The First 40 Years' first knew that AC were casting about for a V8 for their Aceca back in the 1960s. The AC engine was not really cutting it and the Bristol unit was going out of production anyway. Derek Hurlock of AC Cars needed something with a bit more 'bite' but none of the major manufacturers seemed willing to help. The man who finally brought the idea of a V8-powered Aceca to fruition was Werner Oswald, an AC enthusiast living in Switzerland in the early eighties. He owned several ACs with various engines but always harboured a desire to produce the model that the AC factory never got around to.He had a rough 1958 AC Aceca at the time but with no engine or front axle. His brother had an accident damaged AC 428 Frua which did not require any strengthening or modifications to accommodate a big Ford V8. All additional underpinnings were from a Mk. III Cobra with independent double-wishbone and coil over shock absorbers all round, as per the later Mk. III 427SC Cobras.A first-class panel beater was then employed to marry the two units together with Mk. II Cobra-modified wheel arches and Mk. II side vents. Finally, the meat in the sandwich was a 1969 BOSS 302 engine conceived for TransAm and Nascar using a Windsor block and Cleveland big-valve heads and steel crankshaft, conrods and +0.03” pistons. Recently re-built by GT40 specialist Steve Warrior, it was guaranteed to be as quick and useable as any Cobra could be. Intake was through a four-barrel Holley carburettor topped by a 14” K&N air filter with a Mallory distributor assisted by an MSD electronic ignition system. It also included Aeroquip hoses throughout as well as competition cooling pipework and a built-in fire extinguisher system. The Richmond 4+1 was the gearbox of choice offering five forward gears and able to channel the 400+bhp through to the road and able to supply both the searing acceleration and flexible, unstressed cruising performance. Werner Oswald finished it in 1982 using it for about two years in Switzerland and another two in the UK.16 years ago, the vendor and racing driver of some note with Le Mans Cobra and Lola T70 wins to his name, acquired the Aceca and set about a bare aluminium repaint in its original Cunningham racing colours of Wimbledon White paintwork with twin blue racing stripes. And rightly so for this is no retiring angel. The interior has been retrimmed with a contrasting blue Connolly leather, Wilton carpets and bucket seats as well a classic AC Ace/Aceca dashboard yet the central gear-lever, with its Hurst Shifter, is pure Cobra. This author is reliably informed that it drives and performs exactly like a Mk. III Cobra with precise handling and a smooth and even power delivery right across the band. The main difference, of course, is that this has been meticulously put together internally but the lightest of touches with your right foot will quickly remind you this is no transcontinental cruiser. This Aceca Cobra ticks so many boxes, has the history to match and has been put together so well and regardless of cost, it really does represent the car that AC should have built. It represents such an important point in History that it caught the eye of noted podcaster, Petrol Ped and he spent a happy afternoon with cameras in the Sussex countryside reviewing the car, it's build and performance. He seemed to enjoy himself!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1VTApO8MGEInterested parties should note that this lot comes complete with a full set of the original wire wheels plus a set of five Minilite items, four with fitted Avon tyres the 5th bare.
1990 Jaguar XJS V12 Convertible Transmission: automaticMileage:1147791975 saw the launch of the Jaguar XJS. In a year that Margaret Thatcher was made the leader of the Conservative Party and petrol was 70p/gallon, the new grand tourer from Jaguar was introduced as the replacement for the iconic E-Type. During an astonishing build run of 21 years, 115,413 units were produced by the Coventry manufacturer at their world famous Browns Lane factory. V12 engine cars were unusual at the time with notable exceptions coming from Italian luxury sports car makers Lamborghini and Ferrari. The specifications of the XJS compared well with both Italian cars; it was able to accelerate to 60mph in 7.6 seconds and had a top speed of 143mph. The XJS model was available until production ceased in 1996. This lovely 1990 Jaguar XJS convertible is showing 114,779 miles on the odometer, finished in the classic colour of British Racing Green over a contrasting pale green leather interior, and benefits from the desirable Lattice alloy wheels. Included in the file are previous MoT test certificates, maintenance invoices, a current MoT test certificate valid until 25th April 2023 and the original service and workshop booklets. Also present is the original toolkit and the spare wheel. A nicely presented example of the flagship 5.3 litre V12 XJS, which has established itself as a most worthy, latter-day, classic.Presented to auction with a V5C registration document and including the cherished number plate KIW 5199.This Jaguar is offered without reserve.Interested parties please note this car has developed a coolant leak and which will need attention before it can be driven.
1979 Austin Mini Transmission: Mileage:90110The Mini was manufactured by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960s and its space-saving front-wheel drive layout, allowing 80% of the car's floorpan to be used for passengers and luggage, influenced a generation of car makers. In 1999, the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century behind the Ford Model T. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names until Mini became a marque in its own right in 1969. The Mini was again marketed under the Austin name in the 1980s and was offered in a number of limited editions that usually included a special combination of trim and badging.Presented in red this is clearly a cherished example of the Mini 1000. Ideal for an entry level classic or indeed Mini enthusiasts this car has been sympathetically upgraded with bucket seats, full retrim, modern stereo and sports steering wheel to the interior. In addition, Cooper stripes and Monte Carlo style fog lamps, flared arches and mini lite wheels have been added to the exterior. The engine has also been well looked after, with all this leading the car to be a local show winner on multiple occasions, beating many more exotic cars on display. Offered with a new MoT test certificate, in splendid order this racy looking example is sure to be very popular.Guide Price £10,000 - £15,000
2005 Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Transmission: paddleMileage:27600Replacing the preceding 456, this physically larger model was a genuine four-seat grand tourer and thus extremely capable. The front engined, V12 powerplant was shared with the 575 Superamerica pushing this significant motorcar passed the magic 200mph point. Guitar legend, Eric Clapton, owned a similar model as did many other Ferrari collectors who recognised its understated styling and powerful performance. This much-loved example, presented in Argento Nürburgring 101/C with a contrasting Bordeaux 4481 red leather and Bordeaux 481 carpet interior, was originally delivered from the Ferrari's Carrozzeria Scaglietti plant to Maranello Concessionaires in Egham. The first owner specified red brake calipers with carbon ceramic brakes, 19” modular wheel rims and Pirelli tyres externally, as well as heated front seats, a plumbed-in 'infotainment' system to keep up to date with the outside world and a Navtrak anti-theft system. Additionally, 'Scuderia Ferrari' shields were applied along with rear parking sensors. We are pleased to report that this Ferrari has been used for the exact purpose for which it has been designed, that is to say, trans-continental touring as husband and wife having used it on many such occasions, the F1-style gearbox certainly helping with the distances. With light stone-chip wear associated with use, this benefits from a recent service and an MoT test certificate valid until September 2023.Interested parties should note that the current registration does not come with the car and that a new one will be issued.
2018 Porsche 911 / 991 GT3 TouringThe seventh generation of Porsche's perennial 911 sports car was designated 'Type 991', succeeding the Type 997. Introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 2011, the Type 991 is only the third all-new platform for the 911 since the original of 1963, the second being the Type 996 of 1999. Porsche's signature 'flat-six' engine was available in three different capacities in the Type 991 (3.4-liters, 3.8-liters, and 4.0-liters) with power outputs ranging from the entry-level Carrera's 345bhp up to the Turbo S's 552 horsepower. Following its established practice, Porsche also offered Cabriolet, Targa, GT3 and GT3 RS variants to cater for all customer demands ranging from soft-top boulevard cruiser to track-day assault weapon. In September 2015, the Type 991 was introduced in revised and restyled form for the 2016 model year, becoming the '991.2' in factory parlance. To the concern of some traditionalists, turbo-charged engines were now standardised throughout the range. The purists did not have to wait long for their concerns to be assuaged, as in March 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show Porsche unveiled the limited edition 911 R, featuring the 'old' GT3 RS's normally aspirated 4.0-litre 493bhp engine and a new six-speed manual gearbox. Extensive changes were made to the engine allowing a 9,000 rpm redline from the 4.0-liter flat-six engine. Porsche's focus was on reducing internal friction to improve throttle response. The 991.2 GT3 brought back the choice between a manual transmission or PDK dual clutch transmission. A Touring version was also introduced which came standard with the comfort package and the manual transmission along with the deletion of the fixed rear wing and employing an electronically operated rear wing instead. This UK registered example presented in Fashion Grey offers an incredible 588 miles from new. Presented as new in the rarer Touring specification, this example is in collector condition and very desirable.Incredible low mileage exampleDesirable, 6-speed manual shift, high-performance 4.0-Liter 991.2 GT3
1987 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:20994The Mercedes-Benz R107 SL model was launched in 1971 and continued a tradition of two-door sports tourers from the world famous German manufacturer that dates back to 1954. The car featured a two-door monocoque bodyshell with independent all-round suspension. The success and popularity of the model is borne out by the 237,287 units that were produced during the cars impressive 18 year build run. This stunning example of the facelift 300 SL is presented in Ivory with beige MB Tex trim, Mercedes-Benz's extremely durable alternative to leather, and looks new. This example recently inspected by the SLSHOP was supplied new with optional extras including electric windows, rear seats, paint work protection, heat insulating glass and a contrasting dark brown hood. Boasting just three owners from new and a low mileage of just 60,000. Within the original wallet we find the owner's manual and 11 service stamps coupled with invoices throughout the 1990s and 2000s. The 300 with its 3.0 litre straight-six engine has long been seen to be the best combination of power and drivability for the R107, and this example comes with the added comfort of being inspected and maintained by the country's leading Mercedes-Benz SL specialist. A unique, low mileage example with years of enjoyment potential. A fine machine in all round excellent condition.
2005 Ferrari 360 Modena Transmission: automaticMileage:7318The Ferrari 360 was manufactured from 1999 to 2005 and succeeded the F355. It is a mid-engine, rear-wheel drive, V8 powered coupé and Ferrari partnered with Alcoa to produce an entirely new, all aluminium space-frame chassis that was 40% stiffer than the F355. Along with a lightweight frame, the new Pininfarina body styling deviated from traditions of the previous decade's sharp angles and flip-up headlights. The new V8 engine utilised a 3.6 litre capacity and, despite what looked like, on paper, as modest gains, in reality the power to weight ratio was significantly improved. The first model to be rolled out was the 360 Modena, followed later by the 360 Spider and finally, as a special edition, the Challenge Stradale.Presented in Giallo Modena Yellow with contrasting black leather trim, this is a sought after incredibly low mileage example. A desirable F1, left hand drive example first registered in 2005 to a businessman in Japan, but imported to the UK in March 2012 to it's current UK owner. The 3586cc engine fires up immediately and sounds evocative. We are advised it drives well as every Ferrari does with no known faults. The odometer equates to an incredible 4,500 miles from new and this 360 is supplied with a V5 registration document and a current MoT test certificate. A very attractive motorcar and, what can be considered, one of the ultimate driving Ferraris.
1983 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL Roadster Transmission: automaticMileage:37000The Mercedes-Benz SL (Sport Leicht) has been in production since 1954. This second generation evolved from the 230 SL to 250 SL, finally becoming the 280 SL. The SL improved through the years with technical innovation but still managed to keep its fundamental character and identity of an upmarket, quality sports car. Its reputation went from strength to strength, and it was rare to see an episode of Dallas or Dynasty in the 1980s without an SL making a star appearance. The impressive soft-top mechanism which folds down out of sight under a panel ahead of the boot lid gave the car a beautifully sleek, uncluttered appearance. This beautiful early version of the iconic Mercedes-Benz R107 roadster was registered in 1983 and shows only 37,000 miles on the clock. The history file contains a fully documented service and maintenance record with works completed by Mercedes-Benz authorised dealers and recently marque specialist John Haynes. Also present is an impressive MoT test history with every certificate dating back to 1988. The current MoT test certificate is valid until June 2023. This Mercedes-Benz presents well in light ivory and a classic cream check interior and is fitted with a factory hardtop, a tracking system and fire extinguisher. Offered to auction with its original manuals and handbooks, and a V5C registration document coupled with a desirable private plate, this wonderful low mileage example should be considered a sound investment given the current prices and popularity of the model.
1993 Mercedes-Benz 600 SL Transmission: automaticMileage:10946Following the resounding success of the R107, the R129 Mercedes-Benz SL had a rather tough act to follow, as it still had to carry on the tradition of a fast and reliable grand touring convertible. The advantage designers had with the R129 was technology. By the time the final car rolled off the production line in 1989, these earlier models had been in production for 18 years with very little change. Therefore, the 600SL featured many new and innovative ideas, such as controlled electronic damping, automatically expanding roll-over bar and a more modern multi-link rear axle. In addition to this was a fully operating electric roof, windows, door mirrors and seats, which made this model easy and comfortable to operate. The new SL also boasted a more powerful engine and the stopping power was aided by anti-locking braking for added reassurance. The specification of these splendid cars is always excellent with electric memory seats, heated seats, air conditioning and cruise control. To be expected from such an engine, this car is very responsive to drive and effortlessly travels for mile after mile. The beauty of the 600SL is the versatility; this is a car you can pop to the shops in or use for work on a daily basis.Originally registered on 1st August 1993 this fabulous Mercedes-Benz has only covered 10,946 miles during its 29 years on British roads. Owned by the current vendor since 2018, it was previously owned within the same family (father & son). Upon purchasing this 600SL the car required some recommissioning which was carried out by a recognised marque specialist. This included the fitment of a new wiring harness (a known fault on these cars). The original service books are present, together with a collection of previous invoices for work carried out, confirming the ultra-low mileage. This Mercedes-Benz is in very original condition and even has the spare key in its original box. These fabulously stylish sportscars from Mercedes-Benz are recognised for the outstanding build quality. Supplied with a V5 registration document, together with a current MoT test certificate, the smoothness and power of the 5973cc V12 contribute towards making this an exceptional car to drive. An exceptionally rare car with exceedingly low mileage.
1983 Opel Manta Transmission: manualMileage:40240Opel released the Manta A, back in 1970, as a competitor to the Ford Capri. Equipped with either a 1.6 or 1.9 litre CIH, (Cam In Head built by General Motors), and fitted with either a four-speed manual or three-speed automatic, the Manta became known as one of the best handling cars in its class. This also proved well in the world of rallying, where it had great success in both Europe and the United States. In 1975, the Manta B was launched, which was basically a redesigned Opel Ascona, but with more sporty styling, similar to the UK equivalent of the Ascona, the Mk.1 Cavalier sports hatch. The next major update came in 1982 when the Manta received the updated 1.8 litre engine, like the one we have here. This engine was more economical and could also use unleaded fuel. This proved very popular and was used up until the end of the production run of the Manta. This very nice example is presented in silver with grey interior. The owner carried out some welding to the subframe last year, of which the invoice can be seen in the history file, and the engine was serviced earlier this year. The history file also contains a sale brochure for the model old MoT test certificates and various other invoices. Please note that this car suffered some damage in December 1999 and was deemed a Category D Insurance loss. According to the HPI it states the vehicle was damaged but repairable and the insurer decided not to repair. The car has been taxed and has had an MoT since and is currently insured and taxed and on the road.
1998 Mini Cooper Transmission: manualMileage:70725Launched in 1996 the Mk. VII was the final version of the classic shaped Mini. The car was now fitted with twin point injection with front-mounted radiator, a full-width dashboard replaced the original shelf, internal bonnet release and the Introduction of an airbag on the driver's side. The basic Mini was the 1.3i, the other model in the range being the Mini Cooper. The end of production in October 2000 not only signalled the end of original Mini production after 41 years, but also brought about the demise of the 1275-cc engine which had powered the Mini and numerous other BL/BMC/ARG cars for more than 35 years. The Metro had ceased production two and a half years earlier, ironically meaning the Mini outlived the car that was supposed to replace it.This impressive Cooper edition was supplied new to Japan in 1998.This 1275 Mini has been well looked after and is described by the vendor as '10/10 in every regard'. Presenting in white with a contrasting black roof, black wheel arches and fitted with driving lamps, this iconic car certainly looks the part. The interior is fitted with leather seats, a new one-piece red carpet, a bespoke carbon fibre dashboard and door finishers and air conditioning. We are also informed that the looks are complemented by the drive of this car which has benefitted from a new gearbox, new clutch, new wheels and tyres, adjustable shock absorbers and a recent service. Offered without reserve this Mini would grace any collection.
1997 Aston Martin DB7 i6 CoupéTransmission: automaticMileage:62600 1997 Aston Martin DB7 i6 Coupé: Introduced in 1993 to the public, the handsome new DB7 was Aston Martin's first six-cylinder model since production of the DB6 Mk. II had finished in 1971. Styled by Ian Callum, its lines were evocative of earlier Aston Martin models and elements of the DB4/5/6 could be seen in the design. Arguably one of the nicest looking cars ever produced by Aston Martin, the DB7 was well received and attracted new customers worldwide with its traditional layout of the curvaceous two-door coupé body and robust six-cylinder engine. Power was supplied by an all-alloy double overhead camshaft supercharged 24 valve inline six-cylinder engine which produced 335 bhp at 5750rpm. Regarded by many as the purist modern Aston Martin, the DB7 will undoubtedly be a collectable car for years to come and is equally at home in the city or out on the open road. In 1982, Aston Martin was granted a Royal Warrant of Appointment by the Prince of Wales, the company holds the warrant to this day.Originally registered on 11th March 1997 this Aston Martin presents beautifully in Cheviot red complemented by Parchment leather interior. The engine runs extremely well and we are advised it drives with no known faults and the automatic transmission operating as it should. These early DB7’s are extremely stylish and set the standards for others to follow. Supplied with the original book pack and a very good service history, together with a copy of the build sheets, a V5 and an MoT test certificate valid until 25th June 2023. Appearing to be in very original condition, this Aston Martin DB7 i6 coupé is in exceptional condition, interested parties are advised to view the car in person to appreciate the
1968 Daimler 250 V8 Transmission: Mileage:74126This example of Daimler's 1960s line-up utilised the powerful 2.5 litre, V8 engine made famous in the 250SP. This model range, launched in 1962, was effectively a rebadged Mk. II but the engine was a silky-smooth power plant mated to a standard automatic gearbox. In 1967, it was renamed the V8-250 and differed in relatively small details such as sleek, slimline bumpers and overriders, an alternator instead of a dynamo and twin air cleaners; one for each carburettor. This example of the V8 powered Daimler 250 is presented in possibly the best colour combination of deep navy blue with contrasting biscuit trim. Fully restored between 2016 and 2019 by Rotaflow engineers, they took the car right back to bare metal, restoring the original bodywork with old fashioned tried and tested hand work skills. The car has been rebuilt to original factory standards maintaining Daimler originality. According to printed photographic documentation and indeed a web page there were no time or budget limits on the project; nothing was rushed and the entire project took over 3000 hours. The engine was stripped, cleaned, de-coked and then carefully re-built. The radiator was sent away to be professionally re-cored and repainted to as new condition. The original Daimler wooden interior was re-veneered and replaced. The interior carpets were beyond repair, so they were completely removed and replaced with a luxury interior carpet. The seats were cleaned and restored and the car re-painted back to its original Daimler colour. The rest of the car that didn't need any engineering was fully removed, restored and refitted with brand new tyres, new bulbs, all fluids drained and re-filled and all fixtures and fittings tightened and re-sealed. We are told no stone was left unturned on this project. Wanting to be both sympathetic to the original car and ensuring the work has been carried out to the highest possible standards, this is a lovely example of the Daimler 250 V8.
1986 Jeep CJ7 Transmission: manualMileage:51339The Willys Jeep (later Kaiser Jeep or AMC Jeep) is the civilian version of the Willys military Jeep of World War II. The first Willys CJ prototype (the CJ-2) was introduced in 1944 and the same basic vehicle remained in production through seven variants and three corporate parents through 1986 when production of the Jeep model was officially ended. The Jeep CJ-7 and Jeep CJ-8 were replaced in 1986 by the similar-looking Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep CJ-7 featured a wheelbase 10 longer than that of the CJ-5 and lacked its trademark rear curve of the door cut-outs. To help improve vehicle handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis stepped out to allow the springs and shock absorbers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body.Presented in blue with grey trim, this late UK supplied 1986 CJ-7 was one of the last built. According to the previous owner, this is a Renegade specification example which was initially restored prior to the present owner purchasing it in 1998. Sitting on two inch wider than stock arch extensions and Sahara deep dish wheels with new BFG mud terrain tyres and raised Rancho shocks. In 2008 our vendor purchased an AC 5.0 litre V8 engine to replace the 4.2 litre and spent circa £9,000 with AC Automotive having it rebuilt and installed it with all new pistons, a Holly injection system costing £2,400 and a further £2,000 spent on a custom stainless steel exhaust system and a new radiator. The vendor then decided to have the car taken back to bare metal and repainted in an original Jeep colour - a further £3,500! Recently new seats and half doors have been supplied and fitted from the US and an occasional soft top is supplied, the hard top is available but is unrestored without glass. Currently showing 51,339 however, the new engine was fitted at 36,000 miles (just 15,000 miles since engine rebuild). A comprehensive history file accompanies the car and MoT test certificates dating back to 1998 with a declaration from the purchase in 1998 from the previous owner. A good example of the CJ-7 which is becoming ever more popular and a perfect summer toy to enjoy.
1992 Bentley Turbo RL Transmission: paddleMileage:108276The Bentley Turbo R initially inherited the turbocharged engine from the Mulsanne Turbo and also sported a retuned suspension and wider tyres on alloy wheels, quite a departure for a Bentley. From the 1987 model year, however, the Turbo R's V8 engine was retuned with new Bosch MK-Motronic fuel injection for added torque. Other modifications carried out at the same time included new sports seats and a higher rear axle ratio. Motor Trend called the Turbo R 'the first Bentley in decades deserving of the famous name' in their review of the car on its introduction to the United States in 1989. The suspension changes, though seemingly subtle, transformed the heavy car into a real performer and slotted above the Bentley Mulsanne S and Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, and it carved a well-deserved niche in the world of performance saloons. This long wheel base example was registered new on 9th April 1992 in Balmoral Green paintwork over Parchment interior with green piping and a green top roll. The history file that accompanies the car includes various MoT records including the most recent, which is valid until 10th September 2022. Offered at no reserve this is a very good opportunity to acquire a desirable RL example.
