Originally handmade by mothers in Africa for their children from old fabric and cloth, the golly doll was adopted as the mascot and trademark for the Robertson's confectionery brand around 1910 after the company's founder John Robertson visited the US and noticed children playing with them. Robertson's Gollies have been collected by people across the UK and around the world for generations but garnered a contentious image in the 1980s because of links to racism. The trademark was removed from Robertson's branding in 2001.

Silver and silver mounted wares, comprising; a lady's chain mesh purse/bag, import mark London 1916, a King's pattern small skewer, a napkin ring, a mother-of-pearl folding fruit knife, a miniature trophy cup, an oval hinge lidded pill box and three lids, combined weight of weighable silver 198 gms, also a model of an articulated fish, (10). Condition Report Skewer is hallmarked for London 1871, maker probably Chawner & Co, the tip is bent, otherwise ok, The fish is unmarked and the tail has broken off - poor condition.

A pair of desk lamps 'Jumo' model N71, designed by Eileen Grey, with adjustable reflectors, 41cm high, (2). Condition Report Both lamps require re-wiring, some dents, paint loss and wear to the chrome plating, rust spots to the inside of one shade and general signs of age-related wear throughout. Switch to one lamp has been replaced. Would benefit from a professional restoration.
