Augustus Edwin John OM RA, British 1878-1961- Portrait of Marion Coles, half-length holding a fan; oil on canvas, 50.5x36cm (may be subject to Droit de Suite) Provenance: Leon Suddaby Fine Art, St Ives, where purchased by the mother of the current owner's husband, 14th April 1989. A copy of the receipt accompanies this lot. Acquired by Leon Suddaby directly from the family of the artist. Note: The model depicted in this painting is traditionally held to be Marion Coles who had a son by the artist.
