It was subsequently used on the 6098 model very briefly before being phased out shortly after for the 6298 featuring the now familiar black 3, 6, 9 dial configuration. Being effectively the prototype for the Explorer, the 6098 is nicknamed the 'Pre-Explorer'.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Lindberghs aspirations for aviation were vast and in 1930 he reached out to John Heinmüller, President of the International Aviation Federation and director of Longines-Wittnauer. This relationship cemented Longines part in Aviation history and within 5 months the first prototype of 'The Longines Hour Angle' was tested and ultimately put into production. Designed by Lindbergh himself in partnership with Longines, the watch allowed for accurate determination of longitude during long-distance flights. As a result, pilots and navigators were able to find their geographic location quickly, efficiently and with great accuracy. The current lot is in great condition and bears the features that define this model. A large case, oversized knurled crown and adjustable central disc. Longines have confirmed that within their handwritten registers this watch is recorded as a 'Lindbergh type' wristwatch in stainless steel bearing the reference 3210. It is fitted with a Longines manually wound mechanical movement, calibre 18.69N and was invoiced on 22 November 1937 to the company Wirth, which was at that time their agent for Switzerland. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

It quickly gained favour among the Pan-Am executives and the business jet-set community as a whole.Offered continuously since its introduction with relatively little modification it is perhaps, along with the Submariner, the most classic Rolex 'tool' watch made. The reference 1675 began production 80 years ago in 1960. This was the first GMT Master reference to feature protective crown guards as well as the smaller triangular tip on the second hour hand. The current example features a Pepsi bezel that over time has aged to an amazing vibrant pink thus earning the nickname of 'Fuchsia'. The varying colours that vintage Rolexs turn demonstrates an interesting point in Rolex history where they were experimenting with different suppliers and materials to create the most desirable finishes. The different aging nature of varying materials now means 60 years later vintage bezels and dials are constantly providing fascination. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

To commemorate the win, Jack Heuer commissioned the 7754 (based off of the 7753), which today remains one of the brand's rarest and most coveted watches. The most notable characteristic of the watch is the colouring, which is directly taken from 'The Intrepid': a deep metallic blue dial, mint green subsidiary seconds and the iconic tri-colour green, mint green, and orange 15 minute count-down register. The distinctive mint green comes from the deck of 'The Intrepid' after an MIT study deemed it the colour least likely to produce distracting reflections. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: ΩΩ VAT on imported items at the prevailing rate on Hammer Price and Buyer's Premium. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

It was the start of an ambitious partnership and was soon joined by the American watch producer Hamilton, which had established a major stake in the Büren watch company. The prototypes were promising and the newly named Calibre 11 'Chronomatic' movement; a symbiosis between 'chronograph' and 'automatic' exceeded all expectations. This Chronomatic is a very rare example of the first usage of the Calibre 11. One of the hallmarks of the early iteration is the instantaneous calendar which was later modified. Originally it used so much power it could stop the watch when it was wound down. Another is the almost industrial finish to some of the levers and shaky engraving on the signature plate. There are less than 10 that have appeared on the market and it was possible it was produced mainly for the press as almost a prototype. As the dials are prone to flaking, the originality of the lume plots and condition overall makes this example which is in good condition very rare indeed. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: ΩΩ VAT on imported items at the prevailing rate on Hammer Price and Buyer's Premium. For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

Cartier. The case is composed of 3 parts allowing the central body to be inverted in order to present a smooth solid case back thus protecting the more vulnerable glass side. Due to its similar first introduction date, the Tank Basculante is often compared with the 1931 Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso. Although sharing a similar goal and developed by the same company Spécialités Horlogers, the Basculante differs from the Reverso in several key ways. In particular the method used to invert the case on the Basculante is via a swinging frame that pulls the central body out towards you before flipping and replacing. In comparison the Reverso is set within a track that allows you to slide the body out to the side before turning over. The original production of the Basculante was quite limited before being briefly revived in the 1990s. The current example hails from the late 90s and was presented in celebration of the 150th Anniversary of Cartier. This lot is subject to the following lot symbols: YY Subject to CITES regulations when exporting items outside of the EU, see clause 13.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com

The case design echoes this principle through the two extensions at the sides of the case which are secured by lateral screws, keeping the rubber seal compressed between the bezel and case body. The current example has been executed in rose gold and at 34mm it is a wearable size for both men and women despite originally being launched as part of the ladies line up.For further information on this lot please visit Bonhams.com
