Imperial German Model 1889 Blue Gilt and Damascus Presentation Sword for the War Academy Fusilier Artillery Regiment Nr3, superb quality example of a model 1898 sword with fine quality heavy relief in form of Prussian eagle to the hilt, knuckle guard with heavy relief of oakleaves, top pommel with oakleaves relief, top pommel engraved with initials ‘H Z’. Horn grip with wire binding and monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II to the centre. Housed in steel parade scabbard with single brass band and single hanging ring. Fine blade with Damascus and blue gilt panels to both sides of the blade, etched with foliage pattern and presentation inscription ‘Ehrenpreis für hervorragende Leistungen auf der Kriegsakademie Fus Art. Reg. 3’, reverse with foliage pattern to the blue gilt panel. Edge also etched with blue gilt foliage pattern and ‘PAUL A HENCKELS, SOLINGEN’. The blade measures 78cms, overall 96cms. A superb example of a presentation model 1898 sword.

Scarce WW2 German Luftwaffe 2nd Pattern Officers Dress Dagger with Double Etched Blade by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, fine example of a standard 2nd model dress dagger with white celluloid grip retaining the wire binding. Pommel with swastika to both sides and cross guard in the form of a eagle in flight. Attached to the grip is the original officers full dress portepee / knot. Housed in the original scabbard with two bands and hanging rings which the pair of deluxe pattern brocade hanging straps are attached too. The blade is double etched with foliage and droop tail Luftwaffe eagle to the front and the reverse side has foliage and ‘Jagdgeschwader 5 Eismeerjäger’. Oval Carl Eickhorn makers trade mark to the base. Some light areas of pitting to the blade but generally a good condition example. Blade 24 ¾ cms, overall 43 ½ cms.
Rare Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger by Ed Gembruch, Solingen, superb near mint condition example of a model 33 enlisted mans dress dagger with the grip having its original eagle and enamel SS runes inserted. The lower cross guard is stamped with district mark ‘I’. Housed in the original matching scabbard with near perfect bottom ball mount, just some light scratches to the finish. The dagger has a near mint condition double edged blade with much of the original cross graining still present. Blade with standard motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue’ and the reverse has the rare makers trademark of a fish for Ed Gembruch, Solingen. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Overall this is a superb example of an SS mans dress dagger by one of the rarest and hardest makers to find.
WW2 German Army Officers Sword Model Nr 1714 Freiherr von Stein by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, good untouched example of the dove head pattern German army officers sword with down winged army eagle to the langet with rays behind, chased oakleaves to the knuckle guard, pommel and back strap. Stamped ‘GES GESCH’ to the underside of the cross guard. Housed in the original blackened scabbard. Slightly curved polished blade with makers trademark to the base under the langet. Blade measures 84 ½ cms, overall 99 ½ cms. Good untouched example.
Rare Third Reich SS (Schutzstaffel) Dress Dagger by Klittermann & Moog, Haan Solingen, fine untouched example of a model 33 SS enlisted mans dress dagger with the original grip having eagle and enamel SS runes. Reverse of the cross guard with ‘I’ district stamp. Housed in its scabbard with a three piece leather hanging strap. Near mint condition blade which retains much of the cross grain finish. This maker along with examples by Jacobs have the special pattern motto ‘Meine Ehre heist Treue!’. Makers trademark to the reverse of the blade. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. Good patina to the exterior fittings of the dagger.
Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Malsch & Ambronn, Steinbach, fine example of an early model SA dress dagger with wooden grip, nickel eagle and enamel SA device. Lower cross guard is stamped with gau / district mark ‘Mi’. Housed in the original anodised scabbard with a single hanging strap attached. The scabbard throat is engraved with unit mark ‘14/2952’. Excellent condition double edged blade with 90% of the blackened finish to the motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’, reverse has the makers trademark. Blade 22cms, overall 37cms. Small dent to the lower ball on scabbard mount.
Scarce WW2 German Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Dagger Distributed by Adolf Braun Berlin, standard 2nd model naval officers dagger with eagle pommel, white celluloid grip having wire binding and brass cross guard with press stud release button. Housed in a standard model scabbard with two hanging rings. Plain double edged naval type blade with the distributor mark to the base of the blade. Some dents to the scabbard and cracks to the white celluloid on the grip. Blade 24 ¾ cms, overall 41cms. Adolf Braun, Berlin, was a small distributor of dress daggers which used parts and fittings produced by other dagger makers such as Alcoso. Reverse of the lower cross guard is stamped with the gau mark ‘B’. Housed in the original early anodised scabbard with a three piece brown leather hanger attached. Some denting to the lower ball mount of the scabbard chape. Excellent condition blade with much of the original polish and cross graining remaining. Standard motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’ and makers trademark to the reverse. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms.
Third Reich SA (Sturmabteilung) Dress Dagger by Very Rare Maker Heinrich Krom, München, good untouched as found example of an early model SA dress dagger with dark brown wooden grip having nickel eagle and enamel SA device. Lower cross guard mount stamped with original owners membership number ‘19676’. Housed in early anodised scabbard with the lower scabbard mount showing heavy wear and denting to the ball tip. Double edged blade with the remains of the blackened finish to the standard motto ‘Alles fur Deutschland’. Makers trademark to the reverse of the blade. The blade shows some staining and wear. The blade measures 22cms, overall 37cms. It is believed that this maker only produced about 1,000 SA dress daggers and is rated as a 10 on rarity scale (the highest number achievable)
Rare WW2 German Deluxe Pattern Kriegsmarine Officers Dress Dagger by WKC, superb example of the very rare deluxe model naval officers dagger with deep orange celluloid grip with the original wire binding. Gilt metal eagle pommel top and cross guard. Complete with its original dress portepee / knot in light golden wire with silver fleck. Dagger is complete with the deluxe hand chassed and hammered scabbard. Fine condition double edged blade with the standard etched decoration and makers trademark to the base. The blade measures 25cms, overall 40 ¾ cms. Rare Third Reich Railways (Bahnschutz) Officers 2nd Model Dress Dagger by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen, fine example with black celluloid grip, round pommel with mobile swastika to the top. Cross guard with winged wheel emblem for the Bahnschutz. Attached to the grip is a dress portepee with golden fleck to the throat. The dagger is housed in the scarce to find 1st type one piece scabbard. Complete with the hanging rings. Double edged blade with makers trademark to the reverse. The blade measures 25 ¼ cms, overall 40cms. Generally very good example with dark patina to the exterior fittings.

Kate sat as model for a number of Meteyard's works, and the two collaborated on stained glass designs. Eadie worked in many media: as an enameller, a jeweller and manuscript illuminator, embracing the Arts and Crafts style. She was the first female member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, becoming an associate in 1915. Late in life, she married Meteyard.Eadie exhibited seven works, mostly enamel panels, at the Royal Academy Summer Show between 1905 and 1915. There is a three-panelled firescreen by Eadie, depicting the Fates, in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum. Italian model 1925 MVSN dagger of thin cruciform blade in plain steel. Quillion with hexagonal profile, with rounded ball-shaped finials at top and bottom. Quillion stamped "A076" on one side and "MVSN" on the other. Slender hilt of wood with metal top leading to an enlarged, rounded pommel that slopes downwards. wooden grips and Slender scabbard, with ball-point finial. Single piece metal belt loop, consisting of two rings and slanted loop, welded and rivetted to body of scabbard.

Melly worked for Mesems at the London Gallery. Later Melly moved into Jazz music working with Mick Mulligan's Magnolia Jazz Band. His interest in the surrealist movement continued throughout his lifetime, even appearing on a documentary in 1978 which recorded his journey from North London to the Hayward Gallery to view the Great Exhibition of Dada & Surrealist Art. Barry Flanagan and Maggi Hambling painted his portrait and works by Magritte adorned the walls of his private collection.'Any picture which for me is worthwhile is in a way an exteriorisation of what's inside the person.'
