A collection of c1940's Royal Doulton Wild Rose pattern D6227 hand painted ceramics (some pieces a/f). Comprising: large charger (approx. 34cm diameter) - some chips to rim on reverse; 2 shallow bowls (model number 7562, approx. 28cm diameter) - one with chips to underside rim, the other a/f; small rectangular dish - chipped to rim; and large vase (model 8106) - chip to rim and crazing to glaze throughout.
Thomas Uwins - R.A (British 1782-1857) Neapolitan Peasants On Their Way To The Festa Di Pie Da Grotta Watercolour visible image size = 14½" x 20" (36cm x 50cm) framed size = 25½" x 31½" (64cm x 79cm) signed indistinctively lower right - beneath dogs left paw. Titled to cutaway mount. Highly detailed - highly finished exhibition piece. Old typewritten note to verso states that this was a Royal Academy Exhibit for 1834 - although see "The Itinerant Musician" painted in 1840 and sold through Christies 05th July 2006 for the same model wearing exactly the same dress. *An original engraving of this picture by S. Sangster was published in London - 1846 by J. Hogarth of Haymarket.
