A 1948 Wurlitzer Colonial 1080A juke box, metal label, no. 1946045, 147cm high. The 1080 came out in 1947, having the same mechanism as the famous 1015 of 1946-47. The 1080A was similar to the 1080 but had the same mechanism as the 1100 of 1948 and this meant that it had the much improved Cobra Tone Arm. It is recorded that there were only 1,700 of these machines made whereas there were 7,600 of the 1080.. Provenance: Peter Grant (1935-1995), thence by descent. Please note: This is model 1080 and not 1080A
