Triumph TR6 1973 with Overdrive - First registered in June 1973 is this UK model TR6 Fuel Injected with overdrive on its 4 speed gearbox. This car has been subject to a massive restoration by the current owner over a long period of years and now is an excellent example. Mileage showing is 4501, the original speedometer needed replacement so actual (total) mileage is 71386 proven by old MOT’s and an invoice in its extensive file of invoices and reciepts for all the work done. The work completed is as follows: Body: Fully restored using NOS British Leyland original front wings, boot floor and sills. Painted in Ferrari Giallo ( Yellow) New Hood,Chrome Bumpers and Wing Mirriors. Has full and quarter toneau covers Interior: New seats, carpets, Burr walnut Dash, door panels and fitted with a Period style Radiomobile . Engine was rebuilt in 1989 , with invoices to prove and has covered apx. 5000 miles since. In 2015 the cylinder head was removed for inserts to run on unleaded petrol, bores were checked at the same time, all was ok and there is a picture of the machined head in its history file and invoices for the work. New Bosch fuel pump, metering unit, lines and Injectors Gearbox was rebuilt by the previous owner including a new clutch (invoiced) the overdrive is fully working and operates in third and forth gears. Electrics are fully operational and have had new front lights and indicators. Brakes new front and rear including brake flexi hoses. Plus probably a load of other things the vendor has forgotten about. all this makes this TR6 a very solid car that is ready to use and enjoy in the hands of its new owner. Currently MOT’d until 1st of August 2017 so renew the free road tax and enjoy.
MG Magnette Mk4 “Farina” 1963 LHD Automatic - In 1961 MG replaced their Mk3 Farina bodied Magnette with the MK4 improving the handling and engine along the way with new anti-roll bars front and rear, suspension that lowered the ride height of the car plus a longer, wider wheel base. The engine was replaced using the 1622cc unit from their successful sports car the MGA. All this gave these later MG saloons handling and performance more akin to the sports car heritage associated with the “MG” name. This superb example is a very rare automatic gearbox equipped Left Hand Drive model that was manufactured for the USA home market and first registered in 1963. Having spent most of its life prior to re-importation in a warm dry climate and with only 67000 odd miles recorded in total, it has survived excellently both externally and internally. Presented in a lovely hue of dark green, the paintwork appears to be original with only small areas where the expected odd scratch etc have been rectified over the years. As the vendor states, this car has never been rusty or restored. The interior is the same, still original in Dove Grey leather and having never had a radio fitted the dash is un-cut with the original matching wood blanking plate in place and unused standard speaker mount below. There is a small area of discoloration to the driver’s seat bolster which seems to be where something was spilt and then cleaned at some point. Easy to recolonise to lose this which the vendor resisted doing as he preferred its originality. Mechanically the vendor describes the engine as “runs as quiet as a mouse” with the auto gearbox operating as it was designed to, as do all the other mechanics on the car. In fact in 2015 he completed a 1000 odd mile trip through France visiting the famous WW2 sites such as Normandy, all without the car missing a beat. The car comes complete with a large file of old MOT’s, invoices etc etc plus handbooks, manuals and period sales literature, it even has an original American “Pink slip” . The vendor also wants to bring to attention to all perspective owners, the car is so original it is still running as a “positive Earth” car as designed. With only 7 in total Farina bodied MK3 and 4 Magnettes now left taxed for road use and one more on SORN, these cars are getting exceedingly rare and are increasing in value every day. This is a turn key ready to go car with the vendor placing a new MOT prior to its sale at the auction. Being offered at the sort of reserve that makes it a must buy for any collector or somebody looking for an entry into affordable classic car ownership. NOTE. Personal plate has been removed now back on the correct Age Related “A” suffix plate and a “Heritage Certificate” for the car is in the paperwork. The original amber front lenses are supplied if the new owner wishes to replace the clear ones with amber bulbs that are currently fitted. MOT now carried out which it passed with flying colours.
Honda CB400F “Four Hundred Four” - This lovely and mainly original 1976 Honda 400 Four is part of a private collection we have been asked to offer through our future auctions, this particular bike in November. Honda turned the middleweight bike market on its head when they introduced the CB400F into the UK. Here was a 4 cylinder 400cc bike, that in itself amazed most people, that was more than capable of out running and out handling many of the much larger cc motorcycles on offer from the established manufacturers at the time. Now examples like this are highly sought after and their values are increasing daily. Having been totally refreshed by its owner but then left in his collection, this bike will need some very mild recommisioning (change the oil and filter, check the tyre pressures etc) prior to use and will make a superb addition to any ones garage especially as having swinging arm mounted footrests marks it out as being an early “first year of production” model. Last registered keeper had it since 1985 and it comes with a stack of old MOT’s back to 1998 helping to confirm its low mileage. UPDATE. The bike has now had its carb’s cleaned, fresh petrol, new battery and has passed its UK MOT so is running and riding as it should.
James Captain 1950 - Having been in a collection since it was restored , unfortunately the vendor has currently mis-placed the papers for this very nice James Motorcycle. The DVLA have confirmed the number plate has not been re-issued and said it should be a straight forward case of filing in the relevant forms and issuing the new V5. especially when backed up with the old tax disc issued in 1960 still on the bike. Prior to going into the vendors collection this bike was refurbished with new parts where necessary ie new wheel rims and spokes plus tires. It has been stood un-used ever since so will need a level of recommisioning prior to use. Believed to be a 1950 model . UPDATE : This charming motorcycle has had its carb and fuel pipes cleaned, fresh petrol, timing set and off it went, nows runs like clockwork and moves under its own steam ( well cloud of two stroke smoke).
Fiat 500D “Transformabile” 1964 - Back in 1960 Fiat launched the Fiat 500D as a replacement for the outgoing model the Nuova 500. While retaining the outgoing models “suicide doors” they decided to replace the full length folding roof with one that only folded halfway, apart from that is on the rare model they called the “Transformable” making this model particularly sought after and very collectable today. Here we have a lovely example. Built in 1964 and restored approximately 10 years ago by an Italian Coachbuilder in Italy who rebuilt the engine, the interior and painted the body. Today the paint work is still very presentable with only minor imperfections. In fact all the original glass is still in place and is clear with only very fine hairline marks. All exterior trim is present, correct and in good condition and complimented by new chrome bumpers. The interior is still in great condition and it even the original over mats are present with only light marks. The engine starts with no hesitation, settles down to a nice even tick over and when on the road pulls cleanly, making the most of the 17hp that its 499cc produces. All the electrics work correctly and the overall mechanics are described as very good and there is a current UK MOT until 21st April 2017. Having watched and seen what other examples have sold for, this car is being offered with a very reasonable reserve and would complement any collection while increasing in value year on year.
