A late 1950s Beckmeter Model M50 'clock face' petrol pump, professionally restored to a high standard in its correct period Shell colour scheme. This original Shell branded pump retains most of its internal components plus the Shell-Mex and BP tag, and is complete with a new milk glass globe, a replacement hose and new decals. The wiring has also been renewed. This is a fabulous looking piece that would grace any collection.
Pair of model coastal defence guns mounted together on movable carriages, when one raises, one retreats, each muzzle loading 20cm barrel has reinforcing jackets, heaviest at the trunnions and tapering towards the muzzle and breech, the red and blue movable carriages are expertly made and mounted on a heavy metal base with a plaque that reads 'Duplex Gun Mounting' designed by 'Captn R.H. Collection pertaining to British Motor Racing driver and principal developer of motor racing stables, English Racing Automobiles (ERA) and British Racing Motors (BRM) Raymond Thomas Mays, CBE (1899-1990), included are approx 470+ official Press photographs 1921-1944 depicting racing scenes from Mays' Brooklands races of 1936, April and August Bank Holiday 1935, 1927 and the Standing Start Kilometre Championships (for which Mays broke the record) + Shelsley Walsh Races of 1927, 1929, 1932, 1934 and 1936 featuring Mays' renowned "White Riley" Vauxhall-Villiers and Invictus racing cars, the Nurburgring 1935 + Southport 100 mile race + Syston Park 1935 + the Skegness Grand Prix,1928 (featuring Mays and a 2ltr Bugatti) + The Swiss Grand Prix 1935, The Donnington 200 mile race 1936 + The Nuffield Trophy 1937 and The Dieppe Grand Prix 1934, furthermore the 1922 and 1924 Austin hill climb plus other photos including Mays with a Hillman 1 1/2ltr speed model "Quicksilver" 1921, Mays and the Mercedes 1922 and 1927, the ERA at Fetes 1944 plus scenes featuring other racing competitors of this period including Prince Bira, Greenway Fairfield and Francis Viscount Curzon, 5th Earl of Howe at The Peronne (Northern France) Light car race of 1936 + various scenes illustrating racing car tests, engine photos including the ERA and Mays Brescia Bugattis, (1922-1924) known as "Cordon rouge" and "Cordon bleu", the collection includes both published and unpublished photographs with many produced by "The Auto" Journal photographer W J Brunell, housed within approx 70 envelopes of varying conditions (approx 270 x 200mm), each captioned (except 3) in red pencil by Mays' hand, varying sizes with several captioned on reverse in pencil, again by Mays + an "oil effect" colour print on canvas seated portrait of Raymond Mays housed within a moulded gilt frame, approx size 500 x 395mm, 600 x 510mm with frame inclusive
