A PAIR OF ENGLISH SIX-LIGHT CUT GLASS CHANDELIERSIN GEORGE III STYLE, 20TH CENTURY each 100cm high, 63cm diameterCondition Report: Surface is dirty from atmosphere and handling, wiring and frame elements are held on with thin wire- some of this has slackened resulting in one upper scroll element now off centre- and one chandelier with loose chains/swags that will require rehanging. Typical wear throughout with minor losses and some edge wear and frittingOne chandelier basically in good condition with some minor losses and edge nibbles. There has been pressure from long threaded screw and base bolt where it meets glass- resulting in some minor wearSecond chandelier also has the same problem- but with more pronounced wear. Additionally it shows greater signs of use and wear with one sconce cracked/broken and at least 4 other sconces with edge chip. The central gilded bowl at heart of the piece is slightly duller than the other lightELECTRICAL GOODS. A VICTORIAN BURR YEW, WALNUT, AND MARQUETRY INLAID SIDE CABINETCIRCA 1870Gilt metal mounted throughout, with flanking cupboard doors and central glazed doors108cm high, 180cm wide, 49cm deep Condition Report: Marks, scratches and abrasions comensurate with age and use, Some old chips and splits. Some small fragmentary losses to veneer at the outer corners of the top and to the outer corners and edges of the plinth base (see images) . A small number of old losses in other areas. No cracks to the glass. All mounts. metalware and locks are present, original and intact. However the keys are lacking. None of the doors are locked. This is a high quality example of its age and type and with the relatively unusual inclusion/ use of burr yew The baize lining throughout the interior is generally without significant stains/ fading/ damage but with some faults and untidiness where it has been cut innacurately at the edges in some areas. The interior baize requires brushing out/ careful hoovering. Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition.Condition Report Disclaimer
A LARGE PAIR OF GLASS AND GILT METAL SEVEN-LIGHT TABLE CANDELABRA20TH CENTURYEach with cut and moulded frames around scrolling gilt metal branches and cappings, fitted for electricityeach approximately 78cm high (to top of glass), 51.5cm wideCondition Report: The wiring and electrics of this lot need to be reviewed by a qualified electrician before use.Five of the plastic 'candle' fittings are snapped so that they do not stand upright and some of the glass candle nozzles are loose and need re-fixing.Some of the other glass candle nozzles have been re-fixed with a plaster like compound.Some chips including but not exclusively to the scallop of one candle nozzle, some to the pointed rectangular pendent lustres.The everted section at the top of each baluster column is 'loose' and revolves.The gilt metal branches are matt and dull with some rubbing, some of the branches at slight angles so that there is some variation on the height and angle of the glass lustres.Lacking some lustres.All that said many of these comments on condition are only apparent on close inspection.Please see the additional photographs for a visual reference of condition.Condition Report Disclaimer
