A George III mahogany dressing chest, fitted four graduated long drawers, the top drawer with baize lined slide enclosing a central mirror, lidded compartments and glass toilet jars, on swept bracket feet, W.3ft 1in. D.1ft 9in. H.2ft 10in.CONDITION: Overall looks to be in good relatively recently restored condition, of good rich mid brown mahogany tone, top with a very few signs of old stains and wear, slight upwards bulge in the centre, baize lined slide has a cut out lift up section presumably to work as a writing slope but this does not have any visible means of support and perhaps was intended to rest on the front edge of the main body of the chest, internally unusually well fitted with what look to be the original lidded compartment, the larger two enclosing tin liners, the glass toilet jars look to be of an even match and the two pin cushion lidded compartments have had the fabric replaced, central mirror looks to have the original oxidised plate, no key to lock, all locks are present and the drawer handles are later replacements, some minor dents and nicks around the ebonised cockbeading to the drawers, with short splits running horizontally running in the lower right corners of the lower three drawers, signs of old splitting and repairs to the feet.
A Regency inlaid mahogany tea caddy, of plain rectangular form, with gilt bronze handles, the lid enclosing a pair of cut glass caddies and central mixing bowl width 14.5in. height 7in.CONDITION: Case in very good clean condition but no key for lock, glass caddies in good order, central bowl apparently associated and with a chip to the rim.
Collection of 18th and 19th century English glassware, including a pair of cut glass crescent moon salts, an engraved wine glass, a rummer, and three other drinking glasses (7)Condition report: Good condition. The rummer has a small rim chip. A couple of other nicks. The salts have engraved kite registration marks.
