AFTER J M BROWN "Players Navy Cut Tobacco", colour print of tall-masted ship in harbour, housed in an oak frame with stamp to base "Player", 41 cm x 50 cm CONDITION REPORTS Has foxing and dirt marks all over and various insects/dirt trapped beneath the frame and picture. There are some rubbing marks to the right hand side of the mount. Glass is in need of a good clean as is frame which has splitting nad various holes, chips, knocks etc. General wear and tear conducive with age and use - see images for further details
A 19th Century French cut glass and gilded decanter of mallet form, the facet cut neck with peardrop stopper, the main body decorated with swags over a facet cut base, together with six matching glasses CONDITION REPORTS Decanter has a crack running approximately half way down the body to the base. there is wear to the gilding all over with various internal flaws. Glasses all have wear to the gilding, internal flaws, the whole set is in need of a good clean. All are hand blown. General wear and tear to includes surface scratches etc all conducive with age and use - see images for further details
An oak long case eight day clock, the dial with Roman and Arabic numerals to the square enamel dial and subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed "William Owen Llanrwst" 199 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The hood on the casing itself is ill fitting and the finials are no longer present. The glass has several large chips to the left hand side. The lock is missing, replacement handle, there are some cut-out sections to the left hand side and a crack to the right. Sections of moulding are also incomplete and those that are there are damaged. Has various knocks and scrapes, some of which are heavy all over. Pendulum present but no weights, there are significant chips to the feet of the case. The clock face itself is heavily crazed, paint work is worn. A Victorian burr walnut and brass bound ladies travelling dressing table box, the lid set with removable mirror and the base with blue leather fitted interior, fitted with cut glass and silver mounted dressing table bottles (various makers including Thomas Johnson, Halstaff and Hannaford, etc, all London, various dates), the tops engraved with coat of arms possibly for the Percy family, the lock inscribed "S Mordan & Co." and the leather interior bearing paper label inscribed "Halstaff and Hannaford, Manufacturers, 228 Regent Street", approx 32 cm x 24 cm CONDITION REPORTS The exterior has scratches, knocks and bruises etc as well as some faults with the wood from the burring. There is also some discolouration to the varnish and fading. The brass has some areas of pitting and discolouration etc. One pin is raised to the back right hand corner. Inside the mirroring is coming off in several places and has damp spots. Some of the lids are associated and either don't fit or don't fit completely, some of them are also squashed. The leather in the locking bottle has perished. There is scratching, wear and some signs of mildew to the leather. One glass bottle has a crack running from the top to approximately half way down and is cloudy to the interior. One has some liquid residue within it. The locking support is missing to one side
EP column oil lamp with cut glass reservoir and cut and etched glass shade, height to top of chimney 87cm. CONDITION REPORT: Generally appears in good condition, no wick present. Small chip to top of funnel, Globe appears okay, Font appears okay. No sign of electrical conversion .The plating is tarnished in places and also quite rubbed, this would possibly require re-plating.
