mark of Hessenberg & Co., Frankfurt am Main, together with Halbmond und Reichstrone (crescent and crown) and 800 indicating 800/1000 standard silver, each dish of circular form, 8.5cm diameter and numbered 4253, with sunken well containing a clear glass dish with star cut base, each butter knife of 'Rattail' type pattern, verso signed, all presented in a dark blue gilt tooled fitted case with cream satin interior. 20.5ozt weighable silverHessenberg & Co were a Frankfurt based jewellers who became well known due to the great demand for luxury goods in the 19th century. In 1867 its owners Hessenberg & Wiersing were appointed court jewellers to the Queen of Württemberg, the Duke of Baden and the Duke of Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach. They opened a second shop in Bad Homburg in 1890, but due to the economic depression and two World Wars their silver production decreased dramatically, and they ceased production in the late 1950s Generally in good condition with no obvious signs of damage or repair. Some surface scratching to the metalwares as to be expected and commensurate with use. Glassware in good condition with no obvious sign of damage or chips. Case a little scruffy, with some spotting to the interior.
all parts with mark of Peter & Ann Bateman, London 1791, the wooden base of circular form with pierced and bright cut engraved gallery and three applied triangular feet supporting the five bottle frame of simple construction with C style handle and star shaped divider, containing two cut glass bottles with hallmarked collars and glass stoppers, two cut glass casters with hallmarked pierced and friction fitting covers and a cut glass bottle with hallmarked and bright cut friction fitting coverOverall in good condition with no obvious sign of damage or repair.Frame - Some minor surface scratches, dents and dings as to be expected. Hallmark a little rubbed but still readable. Stands firm on a flat surface with no wobble. Gallery very slightly loose from the wooden base.Glassware - Bottles generally good condition. A very, very minor nick to the edge of one, and a minor chip to the base of another. Rims to the two oil bottle a little grizzled and a chi to the stopper of one. Stoppers similar but not matching.

Glassware appears undamaged. Metalware with some surface scratches as to be expected. Both hinges a little strained with the result that both covers do not close completely. Hallmarks clear and readable. Stands firm on a flat surface with no wobble. Swing handle a little loose.
