A late Victorian silver desk standish, Charles Stuart Harris, London 1891 (marks on stand partially obscured), the rectangular tray with pierced scroll-cast divisions, raised on scroll feet and fitted with a pair of silver-topped cut-glass inkwells. Length 19.5cm, weight excluding inkwells 11 troy ounces.

A 19th century silver plate desk stand/epergne by J Deacon. Comprised of two squared inkwells on a squared base with spherical feet, pen well, horse standing under a tree with wheel cut glass trumpet, no 10939, 51 cm H x 29.5 cm W x 18 cm D Condition Report: Generally in good condition. The glass trumpet has a slightly uneven rim however no apparent cracks, chips or restoration to the glass and base. Small chips to the glass inkwell. The stand does not sit evenly. The silver plate is heavily tarnished and would benefit from a clean, however the details are sharp. No apparent structural damage or repairs.

EARLY 19TH CENTURY MILITARY DISPATCH BOX, green leather over wood, by 'J.A.B. Punton, 13 Piccadilly', embossed and named lid to 'G.F. Paschal', velvet lined interior, containing a small collection of Georgian and later military brass buttons with hand written paper note (later mounted on card) indicating regiments and dates of some buttons, Bramah lock and key, 12.5h x 37w x 16.5cm dProvenance: Lieut-Col. George Frederick Paschal, 70th Reg. Foot, veteran of both Peninsular War and Waterloo. Thence by descent.G.F. Paschal entered the army as Ensign in 1812 serving with 2nd line battalion of the King's German Legion from 1813-14 including at the Battle of Nive and Nivelle, and the investment of Bayonne. In 1815 he was attached at Quatre Bras to Sir Henry Clinton on 17th June and at the Battle of Waterloo. He became Captain in 1826, Major in 1841 and Lieut-Col. in 1851. He received the Waterloo Medal, Military General Service Medal and medal with two clasps and the Hanovarian War Medal. He also served command of auxiliary police for the Great Exhibition of 1851 and during the unrest that followed the passing of the Common Lodging Houses Act of 1851.Comments: handle missing, generally scuffed. 19TH CENTURY ROSEWOOD TOILETTE BOX, hinged lid with inset gilt brass plaque with engraved initials 'GEP', purple leather and velvet interior, fitted with Old Sheffield Plate lidded cut glass bottles and boxes, all similarly monogrammed, later mother of pearl handled accessories, fitted lower drawer, ebony corner mouldings (one loose, one missing), key, 16.5 h x 30.5 w x 22.7 d cm, with associated Morocco leather folding mirror, 22.5cm h (2)Comments: top split, veneer splits, internal mirror missingProvenance: Lieut-Col.
