A rare and fine early Victorian gilt brass chronometer carriage timepiece by James McCabe, the eight day brass single chain fusee movement with maintaining power, with four turned pillars, the escapement with a gilt platform with a diamond endstone and a bi-metallic cut compensated balance with ten timing screws, with an Earnshaw spring detent escapement and blued steel helical spring, the backplate signed 'James McCabe London 2903', the back door with twin shuttered winding and set hand apertures, the silvered dial with Roman numerals and blued steel fleur-de-lis hands, with subsidiary seconds and Wind-Up dials, signed 'James McCabe 2903', the moulded Dent style case with four bevelled glass panels, the dished top with a faceted handle, c.1856, 16.8cm high (handle down), with an original numbered winding key and a probably original leather travelling case. English chronometer carriage timepieces are relatively rare especially by James McCabe. An example in a floral decorated case no. 2268 was sold by Christie's London, Important Clocks, Barometers and Marine Chronometers, 2nd July 2004 lot 128 and subsequently was sold by Bellman's Sussex Saleroom, 19th November 2019, lot 696 for a hammer price of £14,000. A very similar example by Dent was sold in these rooms Furniture, Works of Art & Clocks, 11th January 2017, lot 360 for a hammer price of £15,000.

A fine heavy cut glass decanter of mallet form with gilt banded border, hexagonal multi-faceted finial and pontil mark to the base, height 27cm, together with five large glasses in the same pattern upon square bases taking the form of thistles, height 18cm and nine in a smaller size, height 13cm, a spare finial is also included, later half of the 20th Century, maker unknown (15)
A large 19th Century antique roemer rummer glass of Bohemian origin with enamel decoration, the splayed base rising to a bulbous stem supporting a substantial bowl with gilt acanthus type designs separating four celestial beings, each holding instruments, torches, or the yields of successful hunting and harvesting, possibly by Moser of Karlsbad, height 28cm, together with a quantity of largely antique glassware to include a cut glass comport with contrasting borders, two large mallet shaped decanters with multi-faceted stoppers one by Royal Doulton and a cut glass jug, (20+)
