A 19th century cut glass chandelier, with a ribbed corona hung with drops, above a spiral fluted baluster stem, with ten scroll arms hung with swags of lustres and drops, above a faceted ball pendant, possibly Irish Waterford crystal, 107cm high, 79.5cm wide. Provenance: By family tradition acquired from Crowther's of North End Road, London. Then at Ray Mill House, Chippenham, Wiltshire, 1975-1995, after which with the same owner at his current address.
A pair of George V silver mounted clear cut glass perfume bottles and stoppers of ovoid form with pineapple cut decoration, Birmingham 1911 and 1912 by William Hutton & Sons Ltd, height approx 11.5cm, a pair of silver sweetmeat baskets with overhead swing handles above a pierced rectangular body on scroll legs, Birmingham 1912 by Munsey & Co Ltd, length approx 9.5cm, and a cylindrical silver jar with pierced sides and hinged lid, Birmingham 1906 by John Thompson & Sons.
An Edwardian silver card case of shaped rectangular form, engraved with leaves, London 1903 by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd, height approx 9.5cm, a George V rectangular matchbook case with scroll and engine turned decoration, London 1929 by Cohen & Charles, and a small group of other silver items, including two vesta cases, a Continental silver snuffbox and a bell, together with a late Victorian plated three bottle decanter stand, fitted with three cut glass decanters.
A collector's lot comprising ivory page turners, boxed miniature yellow metal Masonic jewel, a hallmarked silver handle button hook and shoehorn, a cut glass scent bottle with hallmarked silver lid, buttons, a quantity of 19th century ephemera to include handwritten correspondence, a book of handwritten text inscribed in gilt lettering to cover 'Mrs Burnett', a similar larger green leather bound book partially filled with handwritten text etc.
19th Century wheel engraved lidded tankard decorated with statuary, mausoleum and lion, and having a Grecian key banded, hinged pewter cover with acorn thumb piece. Overall 18cm high. Together with a silver and white metal mounted pillar cut glass tankard, having domed cover with regal figure finial, horn shaped thumb piece and hallmarked hinge pin. (2) CONDITION REPORT: Cover and mount appear to be Continental silver stamped: 830, the hinge has no hallmark and the hinge pin has a Birmingham hallmark. Both tankards appearing in good condition with no obvious damage. 19cm high.
